Poor Kiko, let his guard down for a split second

You always use security rounds after grenades. Everybody knows that, right?

Screen writers should have provided at least some back story.

Yeah, she needs to show us she'll shoot her own kids.

or assassinate her own crew...after limping through an interrogation.

Some thoughts on this.

First I disagree on Eddie stepping back, if that's what you meant. He's emboldened now. He thinks this empire is his.

On Bella, good question, I found it interesting that she and Kevin finally had kind of a breakthrough and she seemed to genuinely tell him she has his back against Conrad when he gets out of the clink... But what about Eddie? Does she have his back if it's Kevin vs Eddie? When Kiko walks in on him choking her and Zosia gives him a gut punch, Bella says something like leave my boy alone to them.

Also it's not going to matter if Bella tells Kevin because Zosia is going to tell Harry and by proxy Harry is likely to tell Kevin.

Harry definitely knows Maeve is trying to set him up at this point, but he seems to always be two steps ahead. She seems desperate and acting like a fucking lunatic. Telling Eddie to kill Harry? Even Eddie knows that's too ambitious and that she's losing it. I think this is part of the reason he is feeling emboldened. Basically they are both planning and plotting to use one another to be at the head of the table at this point. Just my two cents.

No I simply dont know where he is? I don’t recall seeing him after he was hammered by Kiko or Zosia.  Soon after, it showed the women outside the house just as it blowed up.  So my question was: was Eddie blowed up or did he escape another way.

now that we know he’s back for S2, it looks like it will be an internal war between Conrad/Maeve/Eddie vs Kevin/Harry with Seraphina/Kat lining up outside of them.

Eddie starts banging Kat and Mave helps Kevin revisit his childhood, NowThis style.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least with these writers.

Roger that. Yeah it was odd. That interview with Anson Boon kind of alludes to him running off after getting humbled by Kiko and Zosia. We shall see.

He’s gone to ground likely because he thinks zosia , if not Bella, will tell Kevin and Harry that he tried to murder Bella, and his goose is cooked.  Bella protected her son even though she swore her allegiance to Kevin.  At the time she had zero choice as Maeve and Conrad were still locked up.  I believe Bella has likely continued some relationship with Conrad and she’ll be very fluid which way she goes.

Yep. I’ll say it again, this is beneath Brosnan and Mirren. It’s certainly beneath an actor of Hardy’s talent. This show is a joke.

I wouldn't go that far, but the final scene with Conrad doing the impromptu song and dance/Notre Dame mascot impersonation was very difficult to take seriously. Reminded me of some shit from an early '00s musical like Rent or Stomp or some other unbearable bullshit.

Don’t know if beneath them but an example of Mirren’s miscast was the scene between her and Eddie where there should have been sexual tension component and there was zero.  It was more ick than anything.  Someone cast like Jane Seymour would have been much more believable about being able to manipulate people to do her will including Conrad.  Suspect Brosnan is just thankful to get any role at this point in his career.

Why would there be sexual tension between Eddie and Maeve? She's creepy but I don't think they had a sexual relationship. Maybe I missed for forget something.

I don't think Mirren was miscast at all. She was phenomenal with the part as written. If she were younger or hotter, she wouldn't have been at all believable as being a family anchor and someone battling within such a tight family dynamic for power. The writing was certainly weird and inconsistent but that was for the entire series, not just Maeve.

I thought the series was pretty good for what it was -- all about the art of the double-cross, and twists and turns -- but nothing outstanding.

Once it was established that Eddie was not blood related to Maeve, that’s when it could have been a story line.  But with Mirren cast, it’s not even a possibility.  I think someone like Seymour could have pulled both off (family anchor and hot shag material) but bring some much needed sizzle the show seriously lacks.

yeah dude I think you have the completely wrong read here and your opinion is actually dogshit. Maeve was perfectly cast.

Weird, confusing, sloppy mess of a show with unintentional humor galore, but eh, I had fun. Finished the season last night.

"I'm gon' hit yo business if it's momentary blissness..."

Jesus Christ, has a worse intro song ever been chosen for a TV show? Can't hit that skip button fast enough.  Kinda funny how that terrible song sets the tone for what the show is -  Temu Sopranos.  With some GoT stirred in.

I love that Richie is incompetent enough to allow a car bomb to be planted under his wife's car and stay there undetected for a week (even though, according to the show, you can buy the mirrors off Amazon), yet savvy and connected enough to coordinate a strike force that takes out two highly trained security teams in Antwerp.  With about an hour's notice. Off a tip he implicitly believes even though it came from his blood rivals who just murdered his son and wife.

Episode ten? Maeve caresses Eddie's thigh under the table at dinner. And then at the prison when she literally tells Eddie she wants to be his queen. It did kinda come out of nowhere, although the way she cradled him in her bosom earlier in the season was a little awkward. But in the finale the writers hit us over the head with it with a sledgehammer.  I agree with  @Horn80 that it was weird. But this series is weird so hey, fuck it, let 'em cook!

Yeah, but then you don't get to have a laugh each time the song arrives at the maximally incongruous "drowning person's first gasp of air" noise.
