It’s so stress free for him. Play for par with a look a birdie. And now his putting has gotten good enough that a lot of the birdies are dropping.

I saw it too, was it Fitz?   I thought maybe that's how it's been and I didn't know.

He’s been doing it for about 5 years.

12 strokes – Young Tom Morris, 1870

11 strokes – Young Tom Morris, 1869

I wonder if they started "Morris-proofing" the courses back then

Well he was the one making the courses.

Old Tom Morris designed or remodeled about 75 golf courses throughout his life in the British Isles including Prestwick, the Old Course at St Andrews, Muirfield, Royal Portrush, and Carnoustie.

His feel for yardage is unmatched. When he switched clubs on the par 3, landed short, rolled close. Birdie.  Wtf man, that's like when you're a kid, all you need is what the sprinkler head says  and your eye. His game is so simple and on point.

Lots of guys were dialed in for 3 rounds. They’re all fighting for 2nd behind the one guy that was dialed in for all four.

He has a ways to go to be the best ever golfer from the state of Texas. Ben Hogan won 9 majors, including the career grand slam. Lee Trevino won 6. Bryon had 5.
