Oh, look:

You don’t understand. Driving to the basket versus shooting threes, free throw rate, raw fouls called, fouls called per minute played, that doesn’t matter. Cause ya see, Thunder foul every possession and the refs let them get away with it and then it changes the whole game and NBA directs the refs to do it. Objective statistics are useless, just understand that MavFan2002!!! posted Thunder foul and get all the preferential treatment because OKC generates so much money for the NBA and everyone knows the deal.

I don't understand any of this.  Post this when you can write in complete sentences and paragraphs.

only half joking.

reaves: 28 pts, 11 ast, 8 reb

luka: 48 pts, 11 reb, 8 ast

these two already have a connection and understand playing off one another. the offense is flowing out there sans lebron. he doesn’t even look happy that la is winning lol, he looks like he wants to get back out there immediately to make sure everyone remembers that he’s good too lol.

Y'all are really damn good. This is a tough West though. I think Houston is a fucking problem and that's been brushed under the rug so far with KD drama.
Spurs may be a problem.
Half the fucking conference is a problem. This league needs more firepower in the east.

Houston 0-2.  How long before Durant demands a trade because he can't win there?

probably not many times in the history of hte nba a team gets off to a fast start after a big acquisition.

ask me around Christmas if Houstons 12-14

Need to do some realignment

I mean, you could provide some insight on what we’re supposed to see. Maybe usage rates of various MVP players playing two double overtime games to start the season, FT per FGA, etc etc etc and fouls per minute played for Dort. I mean, it’s 2025, you’re not just going to use FTA as a stat are you?

Instead you’ll just repeat a post meant to appeal to dimwits, so…

Just watched the last few minutes of the hornets / sixers.

Interesting that Drummond closed the game. I figured maybe Embiid fouled out. Nope. 0 fouls. I guess he got hurt again.

Grimes is a dog and will be a great addition for some other team. I can’t believe (Nico) the Mavs traded him for basically nothing.

Lu Dort, Caruso both hand check on defense. Constant both hands on the ball handler while pressing. Praised for being "dogs on defense" but it's constant fouling. I'm all for good tough defense.

"

AI Overview

No, you cannot put two hands on a ball handler while playing defense in basketball because it is an automatic foul, also known as "hand-checking". This rule is intended to prevent defenders from using their hands to impede an opponent's movement, speed, or balance. "

So yes when we bitch and complain about OKC, its the same bullshit they constantly pull. Meanwhile, their superstar MVP pulls these stunts

Thus either you sag off and play honest defense and it frees up the mid range shot which he already excels out(with help of forearm shivers to create even more separation)
"
AI Overview

You cannot legally use your forearm to push off a defender and create separation for a shot

. This is an offensive foul called "warding off" or "creating an unfair advantage". While players sometimes get away with subtle contact in less formal settings, extending your arm to displace a defender is against the rules. "

But when you press SGA, he'll fall down, on his own doing, and get the whistle. Because he's a bitch, he plays like a bitch, his cornball teammates encourage it are bitches, the entire OKC fanbase are the only ones who don't see it.

Holy AI, Batman!

And nice try, posting a video of Ingram pushing Dort with a fully extended offhand within seconds of the video supporting your position Dort is fouling all the time. Dort was called for the foul on Durant. Again, Dort and Caruso were both near the top of the lead in fouls per minute played. Enjoy your Sunday asking AI basketball questions.

They are going with the "he's not in game shape" excuse this time.

Austin Reaves has 45 pts, and is 17-18 from the FT line tonight.

he's turning into a little shit baiter like his sidekick Luka. he's more of an actor. touch him and hes always flexing his jaw like somebody broke it. fuck him

I didn't watch one second of that game, but there is no universe where Austin Reaves -- who is neither a physical post player or someone relelentlessly attacking the basket off the dribble -- should be getting to the free throw line that many times.

Really, it's okay for the offensive and defensive player to make contact and not call a foul. It's called a "no call" and the league had it forever and everybody was cool with it. Hell, they used to do it on block/charges all the time and people were still okay with it. Plyaers would collide, the ball would roll out of bounds, they would usually give the ball back to the offensive team, and the game would go on. And players would stay on the court because they weren't getting in foul trouble with bullshit ticky tack calls. Somehow, we all managed to live through it and actually enjoy the games instead of this idiotic ass parade to the free throw line.

I love scoring as much as anyone but I agree.   They've made it basically impossible to stop guys.  On top of the offensive player getting every benefit of the doubt when it comes to even slight content, they let guys carry and travel constantly.   Even worse you cannot contest a jumper because if your feet get anywhere near the shoot they collapse like they got shot and go to the line.

The lowest scoring team in the league is the Celtics.   They are avging 108 ppg through the first 3 games.    There are 13 teams avging over 120 and with 6 of them going over 125.  Just 10 yrs ago the Warriors led the league at 110 ppg and they were 3.5 ppg better than all other teams.    There were 15 teams that didnt score 100 ppg.

I dont want to go back to the aughts where there were 70 pts games but the offenses have EVERY advantage now and its too much.    There have been multiple 40 pts games every day except Saturday since the start of the season.   After a while the numbers become meaningless when there is no defense to overcome.

Offensive players who initiate contact should be called for offensive fouls.

defenders should have the right to verticality and if an offensive player jumps into a defender in mid air (while the defender is going straight up) it should be an offensive foul.

This is already the rule.   They just very rarely call it that way.   Only certain guys get the offensive foul called and even then only when it blatantly.

Bring back technical foul flops. I remember they dangled 5K fines for a guy making 20-40M a year. Needs to hurt in game and not the pocket book

It’d take no more than 3 seconds to determine if it was a flop or not

They really need a 4th official manning the video feed.   I've never understood why they have to stop and the lead guy has to go watch then discuss with the group.    Have a person on the side checking the feed to give them a preliminary thought when they come over.  Let the team watch quickly to confirm what the video official sees and then move on.   I really dont have an issue with the play stoppages like some do but I think they could expedite them by having someone reviewing the video beforehand.   And yes absolutely start penalizing for flops in game.

They have an entire center in NJ which I have no idea what that provides. Usually it shows some dude standing there with his back to the camera and some people sitting there

Have the dude standing there determine the flop. If he misses the call he’s hung in time square that night

That's hilarious because I completely forgot about the replay center which shows exactly how useful that shit has been LOL

I think his body is done. Unless he loses a ton of weight, but he won't because he's a rock head.
