John Ross? Anyone? I’m so over this shit. UT athletes didn’t have a good combine. Haven’t in years. What’s new? We won’t get athletes until they know they will go pro. We will win college games but outside of Dicko if you’re a recruiter what do you say? Phil Dawson, Justin Tucker...kickers

What's your point? I'm well aware that we haven't produced a lot of studs lately, that's kind of why we had 8 years of shitty football on the 40.

Jesus fuck.

I'd wager most actual football fans have heard of most of those players. Also, who gives a shit? What is your point?

My point is most people play football to make money. Sorry but it’s the truth. We mess with people’s money when we have shit to show for it in the NFL. Top athletes aren’t attracted to UT as a school or Austin. Do you honestly think kids want to go to Birmingham? They want to make money. Or Ohio State? Seriously? Austin is a way better lifestyle.

Are you sure that was your point?  Because what you wrote was:

That does not make the point you, apparently, were trying to make.

You make Jason Higdon look like a brilliant writer.

Are we doomed to second-tier status forever? Is this what you're saying?

We've have two straight #3 recruiting classes (the only team to beat us both years was UGA), and the last one especially had a boatload of out of state guys. Your point is strange and bad.

Let me break it down for you. Up until recently we sucked at football. That’s not subjective. We sucked. Why would an athlete who wants to go pro come here? If they just want to play college ball fine. But the guys who want to go professional and make a living at it do not.

OK.

We had a good season on the field; we beat a playoff team that's loaded with NFL talent and whipped another top 5 (SEC) team on national television. We have a rising star head coach. We had four players drafted last year, and should have a similar number selected this year. We're still the flagship school in Texas, and one of the premier athletic brands in the nation. Austin is becoming one of the most popular destination cities for young people, and UT-Austin is one of the best public schools in the country.

Does that make sense to you?

No! I’m doubling down. My account hasn’t been hacked. Like everyone else here (who isn’t locked away in their parents’ basement) it’s disconcerting to see how badly UT athletes as a whole are looked at by the NFL.  There is a reason why.

Why do you think we fired two coaches in the span of three years? Our draft production is the symptom of nearly a decade of malaise.

Perhaps claim that the extent of your football IQ came from Jim Turner's chalk talk? Just trying to think of ideas here...

I mean, that's just pathetic.
