I am worried he's still not healed from last year and they aren't sure how long it's going to take.

Jeff Luhnow on Yordan Alvarez: "The reality is, right now, we have Michael Brantley playing left field and (Alvarez) hasn't really shown us he can play first base ... There's no real need or urgency to bring him up, but it's only a matter of time."

Easy inning for bassit

young guys need to step up. Have to make him work, at a minimum

That sounded like a sept call up to me

With 5 IBB in 2 games, not sure they can wait that long if teams just stop pitching to him.  If they rotate him and Bradley between DH and left, it could work.  Using the dh for extra rest to keep people healthy hasn't really worked out so well.

Highly doubt that happens. We will see even more of Springer/Altuve DHing when they come back

We haven’t been great in game 3s of series’ lately   all season

we're 9-9 in last games of series.

30-11 in all other games.

If he can bunt at all, he's not gonna have to worry about the shift.

Seriously wtf are we doing. Steal motherfucker

We need to be much more aggressive with our new found speed

especially to avoid dp situations

agreed - why was straw just chilling on 1st a couple innings back?  motion creates emotion, let's go.

Stassi is headed to Florida to catch smith but I don’t see him having a spot on this team anymore

Baseball 101 - make the other team make a play

add stroman to the list...

Marcus Stroman is sick of losing and isn't scared to hide it.

"It's frustrating," the Toronto Blue Jays right-hander told Sportsnet following the club's latest loss to the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. "I work extremely hard every single day. Extremely hard.

"I hold myself to an extremely high level and we're losing a lot. So it's not fun. This is not fun. It's not a fun atmosphere. I'm a winner. I hate losing. I can't put that into words enough."

Stroman was tagged for three runs in the opening frame and even though he settled down, allowing one run over the subsequent six innings, the right-hander was sidled with the seventh loss of his season. His 3-7 record is accompanied by a career-best 2.84 ERA over his 76 innings of work.

With Saturday's loss being the team's fifth in a row, the Jays fell to 21-37, 17 1/2 games back of the first-place New York Yankees and are one of five teams with more than 35 losses. Toronto's current skid marks their fourth losing streak of four games or more this season.

In late April, a report surfaced suggesting that the Blue Jays front office would look to trade Stroman, along with Aaron Sanchez and Justin Smoak. Stroman is under team control for one more season after 2019, entering his fourth year of arbitration eligibility.

Little bit a lightnin on base for the Stros...

oakland announcers paraphrased:

It should be illegal to have that kind of speed at the bottom of your lineup.

LOlz.  Damned straight.

Garrit Cole:  Go fuck yourself.

Astros have 35 Quality starts by pitchers through today.

That leads the Majors.
