Didn’t realize discomfort is the medical term for lousy performances on the field.

I’m guessing McHugh gets another shot at being a starter

I'm over discomfort.  They need to come up with a new word to use for literally every injury.

i'm not comfortable with that.

Could Astros target Stroman?

June 27: When this season began, the Astros appeared to have incredible starting pitching depth, with prospects Forrest Whitley, Corbin Martin, Josh James and Framber Valdez backing up a rotation of Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, Brad Peacock, Wade Miley and Collin McHugh.

While the club’s top four starters (Verlander, Cole, Peacock, Miley) have all been good to great, Houston has had trouble finding a consistent No. 5 option.

The team sent Valdez to the Minors after the left-hander struggled Wednesday, but it’s uncertain how it will fill the vacated spot. McHugh struggled as a starter earlier this year and just returned from the injured list on Tuesday, Whitley and Martin are both hurt, and James has notched a 4.81 ERA with a 4.46 FIP in the bullpen despite striking out 61 batters in 39 1/3 innings.

Might Houston look outside the organization?

According to MLB Network insider Peter Gammons, the Astros did almost as much work evaluating Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman as they did on Verlander in 2017. Houston ultimately acquired Verlander, and he helped the club win the World Series the same year.

The Astros “saw much they liked” in Stroman, per Gammons, who suggests the righty would make sense as a target this season.

Stroman is under team control through next season, and he would provide the Astros with insurance in case Cole, Miley and McHugh leave as free agents this offseason.

I definitely see Beer as a tasty trade piece. Looks like he’s gonna be a big league hitter with not much a glove. And Alvarez is a better version of that. Really tough to have two of those on your 25.

OK, I don't mean to be a Polyanna here, but remember when our seasons were one good month and a season of awful? Isn't it nice that the situation is reversed, now?

We had a bad month last year. We had a bad month in 2017. This is our 2019 bad month. Shit will get better. Y'all chill, we got this.

In the offseason, I would like to see if someone gets moved to first.

Tucker, Alvarez, Brantley, or Reddick should be playing first next year.

Edit because I'm stupid. The teams were announced today. The game happens on July 7th.

Lunhow’s fault !

definitely my favorite uniforms.

they should wear them every sunday.

also the other days of the week.

I’ve never been a jersey guy and am firmly in the “don’t be jersey guy” camp...

That said, I own one jersey.

And it’s the one the good guys are wearing tonight.

So clean.

And to this day my favorite Astros jersey.

Same. Except I have the road grey.

Last years double play is also this years double play

And pop up.

Good play by Yuli.  And I guess that play goes against my argument the other day that sliding feet first makes it harder for the catcher to block the plate.  Either that or Crawford bitched out because he was afraid of contact.

Edited by WBT

Chirinos has done a good job of walking the tightrope of legally blocking the plate lately.

Rolling the clock back to the 90s doesn't mean the Mariners can bring back Jamie Moyer.

Love this team, but much more enjoyable when they’re bitch-slapping errybody.

All that’s missing with these uniforms is a Matt Galante appearance

But pitching is the issue.  It is, but WTF is up with our bats?

we have this conversation every year.

no group of more talented bats goes consistently cold simultaneously year after year for absolutely no reason.
