Ratings smack as a proxy for political pointscoring is really dumb. It’s dumb when the president does it about Fox, and it’s dumb when you do it, Hugo.

It’s funny you think I’m trying to claim any points here.

Like it or not, the cable news ratings are an indicator of the political winds.  And the political winds are clearly shifting.

Furthermore, what can we attribute to this MSNBC surge?  Could it be that MSNBC is producing a better product than Fox News and the free market is deciding?

I’m not saying the MSNBC product is great or even good, just better than Fox News at this moment in time.

I didn't think he was talking smack.  It was news I wasn't aware of.  It's also a big deal as you see how many people are eating up a particular slant.  Nobody here is arguing all sides don't have a slant...the argument is how slanted the coverage is.

Does Pornhub have a cable news channel?

The Intercept, bruh.

You may disagree with some of their opinion pieces, but they do a lot of good investigative reporting.  I'm not aware of any right wing outlet that engages in that kind of work.  Tucker thought about it with the Daily Caller, but gave up on the idea.

I'm unaware of any MSNBC contributor pushing crisis actors allegations as Fox has with Coulter.

I googled Ann Coulter and crisis actor. https://www.bing.com/search?q=ann+coulter+crisis+actors&PC=U316&FORM=CHROMN

It appears that she is saying the children are being coached on what to say to the media. Do you have information that she is wrong?

Do you have any evidence that she’s right? That’s how the burden of proof works.

Also, pretty sure ChiTown isn't a lib.

Maddow regularly pushes insane conspiracy theories on her show.

You'd have to ask her but it would be completely normal to coach a kid before they talk to media. What he is describing is entirely benign, it's not Alex Jonesy at all.

If you were trying to show that one network is more accurate than another, there is tons of data available to do so. Citing an individual case has zero persuasive power.

I think they're all corporations and they would happily lie if it profited them. So I don't even care if they lie, because I'll form my own opinion. I'm not mentally feeble that I need to be protected from the wide variety of perspectives on current events.

Maddow may get out over skis at times, but the most common complaint levelled at her is that it takes forever for her to get to her point. That's usually because she's showing her work (albeit it in the most time-consuming dramatic way possible). I'm unaware of her going so far as concluding children were pulling off Julliard level thespianism to present a false narrative to the media.

Right. There are multiple studies indicating people whose primary source of news is Fox News are the least informed on world affairs. So there's that as well.

Funny thing that MSNBC also makes viewers less informed on world affairs.

Jesus.

I can't prove that there's no Tooth Fairy.  That doesn't mean that there is.  If you want to believe in the Tooth Fairy, present your evidence.
