Was always going to be Arkansas. They knew what team they can sell out their stadium for, regardless of their record. They would have offered Sankey anything to get this game. Probably why they’ll agree to come to Austin in back to back years

Sinclair still preempting Kimmel, guessing Nexstar will do the same. 🙄

Not if you tell your family they are dipshits. You are welcome. -
Very good description (and yes re Duany and Calthorpe). UW was set up the same way - in fact when I was there it was called the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, and we had required coursework in Planning, which I always enjoyed. The "charrette" term as a public meeting thing isn't really used here; interesting that it seems to have started in Portland, but Portland is weird and Oregon is politically the oddest state around. In politics, I think the entire concept is best avoided especially in today's world, where we've been focus grouped to death. It works better where there is a common understanding of rules and social mores, which at the moment no longer seems to be the case.

Probably wattle and daub cleverly constructed to mimic metal and concrete. Typical cargo cult stuff.

Well given the opponent it’s bad, real bad. -
Dunno, but that statue is the one on Auditorium Shores in downtown Austin. I took the photo in 2017.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Houston? Non-CR thread
TwiceHorn replied to crash_davis's topic in Daily Texan
The thing about Houston is that the suburbs are mostly disposable, meaning they get built out in a generation and essentially abandoned to lower classes in a generation. You're starting to see that in some areas of Dallas, mostly outer burbs. -
Black bag, free on Amazon. Fassbender and Blanchett. Fun spy movie, twists and plans within plans.

Used to have this t-shirt back in the 90s. It might be time to get a new one.

Well based on that, it’s average. Sure looks worse than that at times though. -
I think an argument can be made that your $25, as well as the $25 from enough aware and motivated people, has made a difference.

And I'm impressed they have metal and concrete buildings with glass windows; I expected wattle and daub.

I'm going for 4 nights in October and have tracked prices (especially MGM properties) daily. There is absolutely nothing special about those rates. Not only are they not the best rates in history, they aren't even the best rates in the past 3 weeks.

I'm also going to talk about all of the people I hate. When you get to your late 40s/early 50s, you are entering prime territory where you're going to be speaking at funerals. -
Stevie Ray is honored with a second statue in Wales I see.

He's going to act surprised in a few years when there's another round of attacks on Israel, while the rest of us are like "well duh, you kill or starve a fuckton of people, you're going to get a bunch of people who grow up and whose life goals are to kill Israelis."

Shit, that probably woulda livened up the ceremony at my great grandma Gladys' funeral. That was a real snoozer. Poor old gal came down to Texas from Oklahoma in a covered wagon, was raised by a woman who married an outlaw on the run, and had three sons: two ranchers/oilpatch trash, and a neurosurgeon. And they still managed to make her funeral boring.
