What you said was that people switched parties in South Texas because of people using "LatinX." To believe that is to believe that South Texans are both extremely online and reactionary. I'm sorry but you can't cherrypick a few annoying blue-haired SJWs from twitter and call them "national political language." Definitely not in 2024, when Kamala Harris was campaigning with Liz Cheney, mocking Trump for killing the Jim Lankford Border Wall legislation, and kicking Palestinians out of the DNC.

SydneyCarton replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
yeah, I blame that entirely on coaching. It was a stupid fucking mistake, just like our stupid special teams bullshit I the playoffs as well. It’s an outlier. -
You expect less from Surly?

That, and deBoer apparently didn't think too highly of him. -

Andiamo has gone way downhill. Skip it. Reale’s is the kind of place that used to stand out a lot more before Austin’s culinary upgrade over the last 20 years. It’s a good value but you’ll go into a carb coma after. I like their Greek pizza as something you wouldn’t expect to be quite so good coming from there. You can also see fitlump there if you time it right.

I believe it was 18-24 months ago.

Yeah cause cancel culture/me too movement definitely didn’t alienate white males or males in general.

Actuarial tables might be working in your favor. You might be dead before she finds out. Or quickly dead after she finds out. Almost the same result.

I saw it in person with my eyes, but OK

I know a guy from McAllen, and he too likes Peter Piper. I don't get it, but to each his own.

CTJ needs to challenge Lehman to a foot race -
And this isn’t great, bob

Yeah, saw something about a "normal" season has a lot of episodes at least partially plotted out/written before they start the season, so they can build in current events-based episodes here and there and not get behind. Apparently with this season, they are all in on mostly current events-based episodes. And I'm good with that.

Correct. Particularly Lehman. But they're easy to read when peddling bullshit. -
Well hell, that was quick!

I went to military school for a couple years in high school (early 90s in Harlingen). My freshman English teacher was an old German who was in the Hitler youth. Mr. Graf. He had some interesting stories. He said pretty much every German teen had to join the Hitler Youth (boys -- the girls had a companion organization. Listening to him talk about pre-war rise of Nazis, war, and post-war Germany was very interesting. He lived in a rural town in Bavaria. He was not commissioned to fight like some Hitler youth were at the end because he worked on his family farm in the countryside of southern Germany. Almost all the Marines who ran the place were combat veterans. Mostly Korea and Vietnam. We had several older staff who were World War II vets and fought all over the Pacific. I loved talking to them about the war. They were proud of their service and would talk in detail about the campaigns they fought, without getting into the nightmarish parts. They all faced very tough battle conditions regardless of war. One was a vet of both WWII and Korea. He said Guadalcanal and Chosin reservoir were the worst conditions imaginable. The old Marines taught us history and it was very heavy on Marine Corps battles.

Very dangerous when those in power start to gaslight everyone that they're in fact the true victims. In fairness, you can point out when the Dems have done this as well but Trump is actively deploying a secret police who might be rounding up undocumented people today, and expand it to political enemies tomorrow. After all if the political enemies are actually enemies of America, why wouldn't you want them rounded up?

This didn’t happen.
