  3. Always funny how many fights "almost" happened on the walk back to the car, when we know they left after the last INT and our fans were still rocking in the stadium. Yeah, by the time we got out of the stadium, there weren’t many aggies around and most Longhorns were still hanging around in and outside the stadium. And very few Longhorns were talking to the aggies who were around. Why would we? They were doing their standard loser walk back to their cars and tractors. …Now that I think about, some dickbag aggie lawyer and his son looked lost, and said they weren’t sure what to do without fellow aggies to help them find their way from parking to the stadium and back. I felt sorry for the kid being stuck with such a beta loser for a dad, so I helped them figure out which parking garage they left their tractor in.
  4. the new mythical SOR - this seems like some bullshit The "strength of record" (SOR) for an average top 25 team is the probability that an average team in the top 25 would achieve the same record or better given the team's specific schedule. It’s a metric that measures both the quality of a team's record and the difficulty of the games it has played. How it's calculated: SOR compares a team's actual record against its schedule to the record an average top-25 team would likely achieve with that same schedule.
  5. Ole Miss will call it extortion. Was it? It’s a no-win situation. The players have a better chance to win with Kiffin coaching them, but it would be a mess either way. And I doubt he made his decision today, but I do think him waiting to announce it was the best thing he could do for himself and Ole Miss.
  6. Could be their version of warrant officers. They have them https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_ranks_and_insignia_of_the_Russian_Federation#Other_ranks If you click on the Russian words for warrant officer and senior warrant officer, it takes you to pages discussing their use, similar to how we use them. Could also include officer cadets and maybe federal police officers.
  7. It applies for SEC and Big Ten and ND. I am not saying it never happens but it is probably 95% of the time. Indiana last year is an example because they were "new money" and their schedule was so weak. 10-1 BYU is the only team in the top 16 not ranked in order of loss column. And that is probably because they expect them to get drilled by Tech and will drop anyway. They always sprinkle in the other 2 P4's and a G5 to make it look good, especially farther down the poll you go(again where it doesn't really matter). The portion of the poll that actually matters is basically loss column and pretty much as been that way for the last 50 to 60 years or so. before that the east coast media bias had situations where loss column was sometimes ignored for national champions. 1960 is a good example Minnesota was 9-1, Ole Miss was 9-0-1 but there are others, especially before AP and UPI/Coaches moved to post Bowl game ranking.

  10. The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors by James Hornfischer. Not a better book about the US Navy has ever been written in my opinion. The events of that morning on October 25th, 1944 are just legendary and the opening salvo from Commander Ernest Evans started what eventually became one of, if not the most, unlikely wins in naval warfare history for any country.
  11. But we don’t have military snipers knocking off Mexicans trying to cross the border, or helicopters shooting them for that matter. He treats them like shit and they are disappearing under ICE detention, but the military hasn’t killed over 80 of them like we did with Venezuelans I think it’s probably a mix of Epstein files and oil, but it’s interesting that Venezuela is now the #1 threat in the world to the United States.
  12. It maybe Congress’s only chance to stop an invasion of Venezuela. And he does not have enough support in Congress as it is, otherwise he wouldn’t be trying to use 9/11 bullshit to justify this, but would have asked for the authority. He keeps track of what elected Republicans say about him and he knows there’s enough resistance to war with Venezuela. The fact that Trump is trying to deny it happened in his own way is significant. This is the guy who bragged about killing an Iranian general, who has openly talked about six Dems in Congress should be executed. And then somebody told him this is a problem and all of the sudden he doesn’t think it’s right to kill two dudes clinging to wreckage, even though he claimed their boatload of drugs would have killed 25,000 Americans. Somebody told him this wasn’t good. Maybe they even told him that this was the kind of illegal orders that Kelly and others were warning about. Maybe it’s why we’ve seen a couple of senior officers step back or step down. Trump is up to something, and we may have been days away from civilian Venezuelan aircraft being shot down by American fighters, but this “double tap” thing has him spooked so me thinks there’s a lot more to it.
  13. The way Neko sings the word Tacoma at the 4:05 Mark is heartbreaking...
  14. I'm not 100% sure what we're talking about, but that has never stopped me before. BYU's SOS is 35. Texas SOS is 8.
  15. I talked to a couple of his coaches this summer. They both basically acted like Arch and our offense were going to be so good that now he just needs to do the right stuff to handle the pressure of everything going into ohio state. One talked about how from day 1 hes been taught to protect the ball, limit sacks, and dont take unnecessary hits trying to run the ball. So Im just kind of connecting some dots based on that conversation which lasted about an hour. The other coach is basically just a guy outside of the staff that he can vent to I think. He was mostly talking to Arch about how to deal with the media, telling him to stay off his phone, avoid distractions etc.

  18. He went there for one reason and one reason only: Mack Brown evaluated him poorly and did not offer. I remember, way back when, seeing Miller's social media. It was ALL Texas stuff and he even made a post about how meeting Mack on campus was the greatest moment of his life at the time. Unfortunately, whatever happened at that meeting, it was not enough for Mack to offer. But, based on what I saw at the time, it seemed very clear to me that he'd have been a Longhorn if we'd offered. We did not and the rest is history
  19. Yeah. Cosmi's number at Texas was 52 so Von Miller is wearing Sam's old jersey. That's awesome.
  20. "Their fans the full band at the Yell Leaders" Bullshit. Do they know how much a beer costs?
  21. You're pretty, huh? Humble, too.
  22. I did not watch this game, but I recognized maybe half those guys playing for New Orleans when I looked at the score against the Lakers. I did not know Bey was still in the league. Someone has to score on bad teams so might as well be him I guess. Looks like Luka and Reaves went foul hunting with 26 free throws combined.
  23. When everyone is putting up numbers the stats lose their luster. Good for Jalen Johnson, but again when so many guys can put up stats in the hyperfast era of the NBA it is not really a big deal. It's just normal and eventually teams that have to pay these guys for doing the new normal will figure it out and adjust accordingly. Austin Reaves is going to get paid well, but his stat line is inflated if for no other reason than he's quite the free throw merchant.
