  1. Past hour
  2. Don't forget, the portion of the electorate that would likely participate in a general strike is the portion that is a net positive on the budget and the larger contributors to GDP. The other half is a drain on all things fiscal (of all the ironies.....). It would cripple the country.
  3. Burnt orange blunders beneath the big board, Too few footballs fill the turnover sword. Fumbles, flags, false starts, and fear, Faithful fans flail, fueled by bad beer. Quarterback quivers, coach looks queasy, For the cranky crowd, cussin’ comes easy. Tailgates turn tragic for sad Surly Nation, Helobious smiles in eager elation. In Texas taverns, backyards, and bars, Despondent devotees stir strange, secret jars. “Drink this,” one whispers, pensive and plain, “It’s the perfect potion to pummel your pain.” They tilt their tankards, slosh and slur, “Stop calling plays,” the crowd concurs. Numbing themselves from senseless slaughter, They silently sip on sacred Asswater.
  4. Gee. If only we had any data to look at on that issue. Wait, what's that, the past 4 decades provide dead-on data showing huge gains in productivity, with nearly zero of that benefit going to workers, and nearly all of it going to the top 1%? Well golly gee, will wonders never cease?
  5. So is it a concern of the left or not? If not, then the only issue the left has is the hypocrisy of it all? I think any rational observer can see Republicans have been extremely hypocritical on this issue, but the left can't have it both ways either. I think we're finally at a point where the interest on the debt is so significant that something will soon have to be done and that will require both parties to agree it must be addressed and that this is the time to do it.
  6. Jalisco’s was money Was it the Hyatt downtown that had 1/2 price margs and a free buffet? Damn I’m getting old
  7. That 1000/sqft usually also includes the dirt, not just the construction cost, and in most cases, the dirt is half of that. Schutze is right more often than he's wrong.
  8. Well I wasn't really bragging, originally I was providing the reason for why the ag game got bumped in favor of ours. But I do find it amusing that even in a bad year we continue to obliterate their ratings.
  9. jimmyjazz

    Spoon

I know they'll sell out, but a shit ton of their fans have already bought tickets for Stubb's and Mohawk. This might be one of the biggest non-festival "local" nights in years. (I'm considering Spoon as a local band, even though they aren't.)
  10. That only works for us. Aggies would be yanking their mushrooms.
  11. Make them watch every offensive series of the Texas-Kentucky game on repeat?
  12. If you are honestly wondering why people are calling you a fascist, it's because of nonsense like this. If you've ever worked in an office or gone to a church with more than 20 people, it is almost certain you've "hung out" with someone who has beaten their wife. The difference is that you are not "other", so you don't apply those rules to yourself. You only apply that rule to others like black people and immigrants. Nazis would follow the same logic with Jews, with their newspapers having a Jewish crimes section to demonstrate how all Jews should be punished. You think "guilt by association" should be applauded.
  13. I need to visit that place
  14. You seem angry. I mean I get it. And I agree. How do we get more people to be angry?
  15. I mean, 3 outta 4 ain't bad?
  16. You distill your own rye? Impressive
  17. To be fair, he probably doesn't realize the extent to which the federal government supports his way of life.
  18. Man.....and I was just looking into Lockeed's "December to Remember" promotion....slap one of these bad boys on top, and the wife will swoon:
  19. 4th&Five

    Spoon

that would be awesome but yeah, i'm not standing in line for hours.
  20. The guy that owned the FBO I worked for during college always said the second engine isn't there to save you, just to take you further to a different crash site. CHIEF
  21. But you will. Through your taxes.
  22. I’ll go metaphor first, which is under represented in the vast sea of alliteration Perspicacity pales per previous prognostications.
  23. You ignorant piece of shit. ALL THAT YOU ARE is a consumer of Starbucks, cigs, entertainment, all of it. It is your sole purpose for existence, and the only value you bring to society. You are a resource, from which dollars are to be extracted. That's it, full stop. You have no rights, you have no independent dignity or value, other than the value you can deliver to the captive corporate machine. And yes, the irony is that much of that is circular (the government extracts tax dollars, distributes them to people and enterprises, so those people and enterprises can spend them on goods and services to enrich oligarchs). See any echoes of that in the current AI investment infrastructure, where outfits like Nvidia are financing enterprises that will purchase their chips? Hmmmmm.....wonder where they got that model? Stop thinking that we the people have any agency or value in this system. We are simultaneously the product from which value should be extracted, and cost-centers that should be eliminated. The irreconcilable tension between those two things has injected insanity into the system, and it's breaking down. But that doesn't matter. Profit must be made until the last piece of rubble hits the ground. And you go along with it. Because you blame the people who don't have a pot to piss in, instead of the people who built and control the whole fucking system. You fucking idiot.
  24. Good setup. What folding stock is that?
