We had plenty of guys running wide open and arch had plenty of time to throw and wasn’t anywhere close to first play of the game Moore is open in the seam for 25 yards. Arch misses by 8. Of that happens all year we are fucked. I’ve seen arch go an entire game without missing a throw. I don’t think this is him. there was probably more pressure on him than any QB in like 20 years and he woefully failed the moment. From here on he has to play football and that’s it. We are a ton better than every team on our schedule other than Georgia from here on out. I watch 4 games at the same time in every window plus one on my phone. I saw everyone of consequence play. This Texas team is better than all of them (including OSU and the box score showed that) if our QB is not actively shooting itself in the dick at the QB position. My bet is that doesn’t happen again. This team will make the playoffs and it might win it all. We shall see.

Vice President tells NASA to get to the Moon in 5 years.
Captainant replied to atomheartbevo's topic in Daily Texan
Buried the lede, naturally. But the new executive order that bans NASA from having an employee union does so under the justification of the agency's involvement with "intelligence, counterintelligence, investigative, or national security work." https://www.space.com/space-exploration/nasa-employees-fear-worsening-conditions-as-new-trump-executive-order-eliminates-their-right-to-unionize So it seems NASA is no longer science and exploration, but surveillance and security. Yippee. And I'm pretty sure we're not going to the moon. -
No. Just no. Arch played very badly. There is no sugar coating that. It wasn't on anyone but him. And that's why I'm confident it gets fixed. Arch isn't going to play that poorly again. Ever.

Something is wrong with him. Look how he is rotating and stretching his shoulder all the time when coming on the field and after plays. He has a strain of a sprain of some kind.
-
To be fair, Arch was missing on everything, short, intermediate, and long. Even quick routes, missing most of these because he wouldn’t pull the trigger.

Who are the playmakers on this offense? Who are we scheming opportunities for? That part of our offense was non-existent yesterday. We couldn’t find a single mismatch? Who has that something extra like a Worthy or Blue? Sanders and Helm were a part of every plan the last two seasons. Outside of Arch’s performance, that’s my concern. All knee jerk, admittedly this was one game. I don’t like what I saw out of our punt returner either.

yeah leaving the stadium was fine.. there were just a few obnoxious young tosu fans that were yelling at my group as we were walking.. But nothing too bad. Don't think I'll ever return here but it was a good trip.

Blaming the 3rd and 5 crosser miss on Wingo and not Arch is quite the take. A really, really bad take. In your attempt to gloss over a terrible QB performance you actually try to pin the blame on a side armed, 2 yards behind the receiver pass on Wingo somehow. Bravo sir for a 10/10 fan delusion post.

I need to rewatch the game, but my take is Arch was just way too in his own head the first half. Idk if it was me projecting, but I saw an uncomfortable leader on offense the first half, then in the second half when he settled in he wasnt good enough (totally fine) to lead the comeback against an extremely competent defense. I think his post-game interview reflected that. He's not an idiot and it makes me feel like he's the right guy for the job, just sucks that it happened this way to open the season with all the eyeballs on him.

It’s pretty nice that we India and China united against us. There has to be a prize for that.

Ha! What?!!! You have no concerns? Well you should. My team had a 5 star can't miss QB a few years ago, and then he started a game. That was a rough year. Next year they got a transfer QB and went to the final game...but that was... like...the next year...with a different QB.

You say that like those are bad things.

Saw it tonight in 4DX Real D 3D. That was one of the best movie experiences I have ever had. Watching that movie in any other format again will be a letdown from seeing it like that. Feeling the pounding that Hooper was taking in the cage and the boat being rammed was pretty awesome. Technology can be really cool at times and this was one of those instances. The 3D aspect just gave it a feel of being right there with them at times as well.

I’ve watched it again. Lots of fan dramatics. Arch wasn’t near as bad as made out to be. Let’s start with the last drive pass to Wingo. Complete misjudge of the ball. He had time to react, maybe even stop, yet he keeps running. The throw to Endries before was garbage. Then you have the Baker whiff on the last play. The drive that ended on the Livingstone throw. From the opposite hash on 4th and 3. Assinine play call. The in breaking route was probably the best choice, but that’s a rather long throw for 3 yards too. On the 3rd and 3 to Wingo. Not a good throw, but there’s some rationale behind it. We motion Wisner out. The LBers stay put. I’m guessing Sark anticipated movement. So Arch passed on Wingo in the first window due to the LBer then there was some pressure and that along with the angle he throws it sidearm. As for coaching, 3rd and 3, why not Baxter? Why not run? On the half yard line. We have the advantage over the LG. Does Arch have the authority to change the play? Some of Arch’s crappy passes didn’t kill drives. The first play of game. Drive ends with a 4th down run. The Moore catch behind the LOS. We converted that for a first. The run game was decent but provided minimal threat to OSU to force them out of coverage. OSU didn’t seem to be conceding the downfield passing game. Our approach wasn’t good to offset. And they are a good pass D as well. I can’t imagine we will face many that can replicate it. There were some open guys, but there were a ton of covered guys and guessing some that appeared open but really weren’t. This game really shouldn’t change the season long expectations. There are positives offensively. The defense met expectations, at least.
