  1. Past hour
  2. I got passed over for an expat assignment in favor of a woman that had zero experience in the field, no previous international experience, etc. Sure I was a bit miffed but after about five minutes I was over it - except when she kept badgering me to basically do her job for her at times. That sucked. Then we had a major round of layoffs and she got canned and I kept my position. So it all worked out in the end, I guess.
  3. I mean is he really that good?
  4. I've just begun this rabbit hole. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/764_(organization)
  5. same with the bold, and I agree, it definitely felt like what he did was akin to comediens who do crowdwork. He clearly retained a position of power and advantage and had tools of the trade (rhetorically and logically, speaking) to move the debate as he wanted. I think the reason he was so good was because he was articulate and an excellent communicator (and quick thinker). I saw one video where he drew an even more provocative distinction in that he's not university or college educated and they, the bumbling speakers were. But these are kids and he was an adult with heavy experience speaking.
  6. This is intense. Episode 3 holy shit. Are these really single takes with no cuts or direction? How the heck can they do that?
  7. I think I'd classify it as Tarrytown, but I don't exactly know the Tarrytown borders. It's a really nice stone house
  8. Milwaukee is a great city, very fun visit. go find some cheese curds and a friday fish fry i like their stadium, been many times
  9. I don't remember him attributing those mistakes to lack of strength. It's losing at the point of attack. It's getting driven backwards by D-lineline 40 pounds lighter. It's an inability to move people at the goal line. Off the top of my head I remember him specifically calling that stuff out on his latest podcast breakdown.
  10. I meant the version of Shipley back when everyone used to say "he's a ghost, he doesn't really exist" stuff.
  11. hopefully the astros xray machine has some juice left in it .....
  12. So this means that we’re getting wiped out by a December hurricane?
  13. Short term, sure. Automony, mastery and purpose (AMP) seem to be the long term "nutrition" that motivates us; money (generally more external) motivations seem to be more like sugar, short bursts of satisfaction that go away over time. https://web.archive.org/web/20121014122304/http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=mind-reviews-drive-the-surprising-truth
  14. Heading to the Twins today, Brewers tomorrow and Royals thursday. Any tips/tricks for any of these stadiums???
  15. Defense returns a fumble for a touchdown, and blocked extra point. Field goals are for pussies.
  16. There are a few posts scattered here and there with videos that posit he generally addressed well meaning but I sophisticated students and steered them toward his talking points no matter what the initial question was. As an example, the person debating him at the time of his murder asked about transgender mass murder and he was in the process of steering it towards gang related violence, where he knew his numbers and could talk race, instead of talking about the low number of trans shooters that contradicted his position of a disturbing trend. I haven’t seen enough of his material to offer an opinion on this, as my only previous exposure to him was posters here making fun of his head size. articulate, yes he was obviously that.
  17. Yep. In my younger skirt-chasing days....nothing outside of the baseline legal standards would have stopped me. Certainly no notions of self-respect got in the way. If I'd ended up with the impression that what it took to get a gal was wearing a sweet watermelon helmet, you'd have seen me like this on campus every f'ing day: Functionally every choice I made - what I wore, where I'd hang out, the music I'd listen to, etc. - was driven by a desire to make myself a better candidate for sweet loving with a lady. The amount of "quit" some of these guys have blows me away.
  18. Maybe the cops were wrong saying the black person committed suicide. Just spitballing here.
  19. "unfortunately i'm a normal person who gets laid" way to humblebrag
  20. Eh, the profit motive isn't the problem. There's plenty of money to be made as the voice of the resistance (hell, Fox would probably say it's even more lucrative than being part of the mainstream). The problem is the Dems and aligned groups keep thinking this is on the far end of normal, but still normal.
  21. The lackluster offensive performances will continue until attitude improves
  22. ^ I like it but from what remember of Mark Rippetoe as a writer, he is a poster child for calling anyone who disagrees with him stupid.
  23. Top notch info. Thanks! I visited Santa Cruz with a friend in high school and hung out at the boardwalk, rode the Giant Dipper, ate at Pizza My Heart, checked out Steamer's Lane, etc. Sadly, no Tim Capelo sightings. No vampire sightings either.
