And also, look at the penalties our lack of discipline on the OL has caused - holding, offsides, whatever. Isn't that Flood's group? Shit his group alone cost us at least 50 yards a game... Factor being just bad - add another 30 yards minimum for Arch running for his life. That's a minimum of 80 yards a game due to Flood sucking on recruiting or developing or taking half a season to get a little better. This is the best Texas has? Glad we aren't GA or tOSU or similar. But hey, we're going to retain this shit ...
For sure. And yeah, I saw one of the Huffines signs too, come to think of it. It said he wants to "DOGE Texas Government". Seems like that hasn't aged well.
Yep. Any of us who've worked in and with bureaucracies know that this kind of 'mistake' can and will happen, esp when the leadership is unpopular with the rank and file. And we all know that there are FBI agents & probably DoJ, too, who hate Trump with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns and are in no position to just end their careers. So they'll resist in the ways that are available to them. Many people, including people here, predicted this kind of thing happening. The bureacracy is real, but it takes real people to run it.
Sooooo many losers camped out at the bryker woods Spec’s tonight. At least they were having fun and opening bottles for eachother, but my goodness people… is there no better use of your time?!
Didn't see hardly anything Trump-related from the Okie border all the way to Austin, outside of Huffines billboards (and saw more of those billboards than solo Trump stuff). In terms of what Al's talking about, I tune that stuff out because I was around it so much, but I'll have to pay closer attention. But I do think it's very interesting. As I said here or elsewhere, people put up Trump signs and flags and slap on bumper stickers not because it helped Trump gain votes but because they wanted you to know that they supported Trump, and also to connect with other Trumpanzees. I'm going to be at a New Year's party next week with a bunch of friends/neighbors who traveled around, and I'm going to query them if they've noticed it. And it's not people leaving this stuff up and it deteriorating and disappearing, the shit has been removed.
The fact that Sark hasn't replaced Flood is ridiculous. Look at our OL recruiting - it's 4 years of fucking bread. First year was great then bread. This year is bread. And don't tell me Turntine - he's listed at 6.3 and 260 which probably means 6.1 and 250 - 3 year project and not an OT build. Missing on Lee was a horrendous disaster. The miss on Ojo I understand. Retaining Flood will end Sark here, period. The bullshit from this year, we don't recruit OL from the portal - how'd that shit work out? Flood had 4 years to get his 2nd OL together and has failed in every way. And this year 2025 we get more bread and basically a TE who isn't a OT. Of course Turntine looks great in HS as a OT killing 190lb guys, he's 50lbs undersized for college and doesn't have a college OT build. Use him as a TE which apparently we suck at recruiting any that can block. You guys that lift tell us, how hard is it to put 50lbs of good weight on a body? Not fucking easy, especially if your metabolism and frame doesn't want it. How many of Flood's bullshit recruits have panned out? Few - maybe one a year. News flash - OL needs 5 and back-ups. This project recruiting on OL is why we will have to pay a tremendous amount in portal and pray they work as a team - not good after having 4 years for Flood to sit on his ass. Even if we fix this shitstorm via portal - wasted resources after 4 years of Flood shit recruiting. Georgia Tech OL was better than ours against GA - ffs what does it take to get a decent OL recruiter and coach? Edit: PK was the least of my concerns but WM - yep got to do that and replace Akina. Flood is the my biggest issue (kinda obvious probably).
I’ve been to a couple Texas bowls. As long as they can get a good local team (sat in a suite for a Herman era game, and gen pop for another), the crowd is usually pretty good. Easy city to travel to with plenty to do, plus lots of big 12/SEC alumni around makes for a good crowd most years, at least to my recollection.
Saw them play an hour long set last year that had no filler. Even had a cover of TV on the Radio “Wolf Like Me”. Stephen Jenkins didn’t have the range he once did but it was a great show.
