  1. Past hour
  2. Fun fact about Golesh, he was born in the Soviet Union.
  3. Maybe this is a Daniel Figurelli sock puppet trying to set us up for his ultimate revenge. I'm leaning toward no, OP doesn't use any racist or homophobic slurs in every sentence.
  4. No time to rest as we got Seattle tonight. Duchene has been on the trip - wonder if he slots in tonight
  5. 3 years in a row is awesome Now add more teams so we don’t have to play South Carolina for the 800th time
  6. From the AAS: For Texas, this trip to Las Vegas isn’t just about testing itself against two fellow Final Four qualifiers from last season and a Duke team that was an Elite Eight squad. Each of the programs participating in the 2025 Players Era event — four women’s teams and 18 men’s teams — will earn $1 million dollars in NIL funds for fulfilling their event obligations, including two games. “I never thought it would be like this,” Texas point guard Rori Harmon said. “Us players are super grateful. Honestly, we want to play hard to win, obviously, but you throw a little bit of money in there, that’s fun too.” According to a report by CBS Sports, event organizers will pay teams through either a school’s collective, NIL deals with athletes or direct payments to schools that want to distribute that cash through revenue sharing. Schaefer has shared that his players will get all of the money and that the Longhorns do have off-court event obligations while in Las Vegas. Texas also has committed to participating in the 2026 and 2027 Players Era showcases. “(It) still is uncomfortable coming out of my mouth talking to recruits, talking to our players about money,” said the 64-year-old Schaefer, who’s in his sixth season at Texas and his 21st as a college head coach. “Five years and before, that was just so illegal and we would never approach that. At some point in the process, it becomes part of the process.”
  7. If Bama loses to Auburn this weekend, they are out of the CFP. It won't be because they lost in September to a bad FSU team. It will be that they lost to a terrible Auburn team in late November.
  8. PK’s defenses seem to struggle with mesh, and it’s seems like Klein loves mesh.
  9. We need bats. The pitching staff was not the reason we missed the playoffs. It was the offense and Espada's shitty managing. We can really only fix one of those things this offseason, and not Brendan fucking Donovan. Really the only way to fix this mess is to trade away Pena, Walker, and Alvarez and take a year to figure out the pitching, recalibrate the payroll, and determine which of our prospects and the ones we get in trades can reopen a competitive window. Going into next season with the same general roster is going to push us further behind and closer to the final years of Drayton.
  10. Rumor has it that Durant has taken a personal leave of absence because he has become a father. If so, I hope Durant gets that daddy boost when he returns to the court.
  11. Of course when park revenue drops and the fed govt is asked to provide more fundings to keep the lights on, the MAGA business opportunists will point that it's another reason that national parks should be sold off to private interests who can better manage them. Which also means selling off to more industry interests and give the more scenic areas to billionaires.
  12. Relax, you're not that good.
  13. As someone who lived a few years at one of the overnight points for many tour buses, there is an enormous foreign visitor population all season long. Especially Chinese and Korean. Companies there sell these packages that include the busses with predetermined stops in the park, and lodging, plus the airfare. no idea if this will kill that or if they will just absorb and pay it, at least for YNP.
  14. To be fair, they’re just not concerned about it right now. Rest assured, they’ll be champions of the exploited again if the winds’ direction changes and they receive different marching orders. You unfairly misrepresent the nuance in child sex trafficking.
  15. To be fair, I would rather hear "poor aggies"
  16. 956 when IDF soldiers rape a Palestinian prisoner to death and an Israeli mob does a Jan 6 because they got arrested for it: 956 when there's an opportunity to imply, for the 900th time, that anti-Zionists are just antisemites, despite repeatedly apologizing for it in the past:
  17. This is correct. He's averaged 5.0 PG in his career and is currently at 4.7 this season. This team is just a low volume 3PA, but is elite at making them currently. I don't think should change much of anything right now as they continue to jell on offense, other than Aaron Holday getting more PT when we have a full rotation. At this point, Finney-Smith's + Fred's contract should be considered tradable at the deadline for a real rotational improvement.
  18. This. We won’t collect that revenue. They’ll just stop coming. And I recall on our summer trip to the Yosemite valley floor like 10+ years ago, it was full of buses of Chinese tourists. Take those out of the mix, and revenue would go way down.
  19. Who's the guy trying not to shit his pants standing next to George Washington?
  20. Well looks like Sark/Texas are getting cooked by Tamu and Tech.
  21. Well, Wang Fuk to be accurate.
  22. Yeah…that shit. And we’ll probably be killing reciprocity fee waivers/reductions for European countries soon as well. Because we need to create Fortress America, nobody gets in or out. There’s not an aspect of totalitarian states that we AREN’T aiming to emulate.
  23. complete anecdotal evidence, but while on a recent vacation I was at a national forest during a workday. Based on accents that I heard, I would have to guess that ~50% of the visitors that morning were not Americans. My guess is that we will see the following: Trump will claim this will generate X additional dollars. He will take the estimated annual foreign park visitors and multiply that by $100 or $250. Perhaps declare a possible "F the Foreigners" check to all Americans Never discuss how total park revenue will eventually drop by a large percentage as non-Americans are staying home. Definitely ignored will be the local impact to hotels, restaurants, etc.
