  1. Past hour
  2. Better than the ending of Tommyknockers, at least.
  3. I pick option 2. But not that he was fed bad information, just that there would be a lot of association and innuendo and he has a guilty conscience and gave that more credibility than perhaps it deserves.
  4. I'm a big fan of "prepare yourself if you want something on a flight." Want your baby in a window seat? Secure a window seat in advance. Wanna sleep on your 7am flight? Secure a window seat and close the window, or bring one of those eye masks. Don't get mad a window-down guy. Don't like FA/pilot announcements waking you up? Bring noise-cancelling headphones. And so on. I'm not mad at jdhorn. I'd ask that he close the window, but it's like asking the person in front of you not to recline or window-lady to give up the seat to the baby. I'd prefer they do the cool thing but it's their space, their prerogative.
  5. His SMU is showing (lol jk but kinda serious)
  6. As it turns out (and it’s important how these things turn out) she seems to have had more power. Just as Shannon Sharpe’s “girlfriend” had more power. He lost his job, and his reputation was ruined… all because he stupidly thought he was paying for privilege.
  7. I would assume that Kiffin will try to persuade Chambliss or Simmons to join him in Baton Rouge.
  8. People pay for that? With real money?
  9. What I don't get is why she's bothering. I get the grift, but Kirk was already wealthy. Now she's wealthy. She could very easily just sit in the background, claim to be the grieving mom, and have all the money in the world, and probably more coming as she just rents out the TPUSA infrastructure. Why do all this shit? It makes no fucking sense to me. It's like an NFL footballer's wife stepping in after her RB husband dies and going "Imma take up his mantle. Fuck the eagles this weekend, I'm running for 150."
  10. It does feel like we are in the land of "That's not fair, if they get free stuff, I want free stuff too" even if it means everyone is the worst for it. The poor have never been able to see the forest from the trees but at least we had pride. Now just despair and hopelessness and cruelty.
  11. It's real.
  12. It was our largest win over an AP ranked team since 2005
  13. Baugh non-update from Nahlin Given the hiring of Jabbar Juluke from Florida, we're following the intentions of running back Jadan Baugh with a bit more interest than a week ago. Could he really enter the portal? Here's the latest. The stud Florida running back is well aware of Texas' interest in should he elect to test his market value. Florida's main issue right now, and the hold up—it has yet to name a replacement for Juluke. Candidates include Tim Harris, Derrick Nix, and Chad Scott. Tim Harris is currently the receivers coach at Florida State but has served as running backs coach at previous stops, including Miami, UCF, and FIU. Derrick Nix is currently at Auburn but made his name at Ole Miss where he was both running backs and wide receivers coach. Florida already hired Marcus Davis from Auburn to coach wide receivers. Chad Scott, well, you know Chad Scott. He was at West Virginia for a while before serving as Texas' running backs coach this past year. He was fired because, as best we can tell, Juluke was made available. I must say, this is interesting. Jabbar Juluke not only has the relationship with Baugh, he also has the best resume at the position. I was expecting to hear the Baugh affair would be wrapped up for Florida today or tomorrow. Instead I heard this. My source has been adamant Baugh would remain in Florida but admitted to being a little less certain today. Speculate away!
  14. That's a pretty high percentage.
  15. It's like the pioneer and wilderness days. Getting through our education system 5-22 years old is like taking the Oregon Trail, not everyone will make it. It's literally insane and tragic and sad and infuriating
  16. There's literally only two possibilities here: 1: The files are really damning, and he's doing everything in his power to keep them concealed (which will probably work). 2: The files aren't that damning, but he was fed bad information and knows what could be on them (ya know, because he knows his own involvement) and has thus followed the "how to make yourself look incredibly guilty" handbook to a tee. There's no rational explanation for Maxwell's transfer and favorable treatment. Both possibilities range from 99.9999% to 100% likely that Donald Trump has engaged in inappropriate acts with underage girls. But I understand why some are really grasping at that 0.0001%, pathetic as it may be.
  17. Every chihuahua I've ever encountered hates the absolute living fuck out of every human being except the ones they live with. And not always even liked all of those. So I'll pass. But Clark has the solution to that problem as posted above
  18. I think the problem(s) that AI would have in engineering problem solving include: - AI is all about replicating patterns and interpolating within data. I think most of the creative solutions in engineering are either novel or pulled from a different application - breaking the pattern. AI is not going to do that. (It's the same reason why AI is shitty at writing jokes - many jokes rely on "subversion of expectations" while AI is good at matching the expectation from the pattern.) - Most technology owners aren't going to make their stuff public. The tech companies building the data centers sure as shit aren't sharing the designs publicly. Without data to train on, there is no AI. - AI is currently making obvious mistakes. That is much less problematic than when it makes fundamental mistakes that "look" right. It's going to get harder and harder to tell what was engineered vs. what was pattern-matched. So, I think there is an opportunity for AI to do extremely common types of designs that are publicly available through permitting. I'm thinking residential building designs maybe. For 95% of housing, you aren't looking to innovate. Maybe road design, although it's likely I am underestimating the complexity there. I think AI is currently a good tool for certain aspects of engineering, but it's one of many, many tools.
  19. My guesses - Whitney will go elsewhere to find a full time role With her leaving and Devin graduating, Addy can slot into the double sub OPP position. I assume Texas will continue running it I wonder if Anja will portal again. Texas needs to find another DS, preferably more of a middle back defender. Gary is very good in left back, so you could run her as L in that position and a DS in middle back. I’d love to upgrade at MB. Or add more depth Will be interesting to see if Henley and AVW have an open competition for the second OH spot Biggest ? is if Elliot will find another setter, which would likely force Ella or Binney out. Unlikely we have 4 of them on the roster
  20. Kevin Pollack is the epitome of a great, supporting actor in that role. And someone posted in another thread a great interview with him about the behind-the-scenes stories on AFGM. Definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it. And, to keep it on topic, here's the complimentary snippet of the Rob Reiner interview.
