yup, you can draw a fairly straight line btwn seismic activity and fracking in the middle of the USA. -
100% We didn’t even have the right guy teeing off on the right holes to optimize iron play. I guarantee the Euro coaches were amazed at some of Keegan’s decisions.

Got it. Then if you're someone who wants to hit the high points, for sure do it. I would caution against spending too much time in the Louvre or Orsay. They're both great, but you can really get lost in there and there is so much more to see. A few suggestions other than the obvious: - Like I said, the Rodin Museum is my favorite museum. Much more relaxed. You can also to L'Orangerie if you're into Monet/impressionists. It's a quick museum and near the most touristy area, so easy to fit in. Also, the Picasso is close to you in the Marais. I haven't been in a long time and don't remember it well, but take a look. - Do a walking food/wine tour. There are a bunch of options and they should take you to the markets, cheese shops, wine shops, chocolate shops, etc. A great way to get a feel for the city - Grab sandwiches or bread/cheese and spend some time relaxing in a park. Luxembourg Gardens is the my favorite - Make sure to eat as many pastries as you can. They just hit different there. Also, for gelato, Bethillion on Ile Saint Louis is still the best.

He should take some Tylenol for that pain

Novavax was vaporware shots a few weeks ago. Readily availability now it seems. My go to rec for older adults in the fam that want to boost. For the gas money costs of a trip to Mexico, you could screen for antibody titers out of pocket from quest or labcorp as a screen and also cover the costs of boosting out of pocket if you see fit. We still don't know the correlates of protection. But these are just the facts. Paxlovid, you guys are on your own. There is no clinical data that supports paxlovid use in the current mix of prior infection and vaccination. At $1500 a pop per round, this is just silly stuff that the surly 1% can entertain when they want to dispense with evidence based medicine. -
I still have no idea how his spine is still intact after that. I was for sure he was done. Nope. Dude pops back up and is ready for more. Absolute freak of nature.

I’m bumping up against a theory of the mind problem because I can’t model the brain of a person that was for. I can sort of map out a person who would be on board with all the dumb stuff he is announcing. Not agree with them but imagine how they internally get there. I can’t get into the perspective of someone who wants to see that level of MasterCringe Theatre from a senior cabinet official. Just painful and embarrassing to watch. A meeting that could have been a Signal chat.

It’s Gimme Shelter for me. For a long ass time my answer would have been Jumpin Jack Flash.

I don't dip my toes in here too much but I'm curious what the Surly CR thinks about this guy. My first exposure to him was his appearance on Rogan and I'm not sure I finished the pod but I was intrigued by the niche space that he is attempting to occupy. I saw an ad earlier today about him asking for donations and was tempted to drop a few simoleons. I've used "moderate" to describe myself in the past but I don't think I like that label because it kind of implies I don't give a shit. I have serious issues with both parties and the system as a whole but this dude piques my interest and is someone I would vote for (I vote dem all the time in case anyone was wondering - just not a straight ticket guy). Like all of you I'm frustrated with the state this country is in right now - and while I don't agree with and have a problem with a lot of the rhetoric on this board I also want the best for the people in this country. Guys like this that attempt to occupy middle ground without conceding integrity or ethics could be very valuable for the democratic party.

Government Shutdown 2025: This Time It’s Personal

This is actually where I’m at. Teddy was really good at knowing what he had to do for the public good, in spite of public outcry, in order to get them to see the light once his shit worked. Teddy ain’t walking through that door, but that’s what we need. -
what did you hear? I also heard he had a brief episode of neck pain. lol

i got my flu and covid shots at my local small town pharmacy. First time I went tho, they didn't have the covid. Pharmacist said she ordered the covid shots, but they hadn't arrived yet, she didn't know why, and seemed kind of pissed about it. Went back two later and they had them. I was speaking of a possible (probable?) future scenario based on the way things are going now. Especially considering that people already travel to Mexico for less expensive drugs and dental care, among other things. -

It was talked up a bit in the earlier stages of this thread. But is anyone doing Covid spike or nucleocapsid AB testing anymore? Particularly prior to boosting? -

Man, I don't know -- only have the vaguest recollection that it headed northeast after landfall. I do strongly remember that quote happening after a hurricane in Florida, though, specifically. The comment may have been connected to an especially shitty FEMA response shortly after DeSantis was elected for the first time, so the state was in the spotlight. It's all a jumble of hazy associations. -
