  2. The vast majority of the field in the basketball and baseball tournaments also have zero chance at winning it all and we still love it. Call it a 16 team playoff with a play-in round if it makes you feel better. In my setup the CCGs go away and the 9-24 seeds play the first week of December. You then have a field of 16. I’d have no auto bids, just straight seeding 1-24. G5 teams only make the 16 team field it if they finish in the top 24 and win their play-in game. Would be equally and possibly more profitable than CCGs. And schools get more money from these games being at home venues and not feeding NFL owners with more money. The more I think about it the more it makes sense. If Petitis 24 team proposal still has auto bids and allocations by conference he can fuck off. Straight rankings and seeing 1-24 after the end of the regular seasons. Conferences award trophies by regular season records and if desired tiebreakers.
  3. Less than 400 people in Irving as of 5am this morning. What a shift from last year when there was way over 1000. Bet Spec's didn't see this coming. Maybe this will cause them to rethink and maybe release shit during the year like every other fucking retailer.
  4. In the past you would have bad days, around national signing day or a big decommitment. But overall the board was much more sane. This long window before the one portal and a lack of anything to play for has poisoned this board with regarded takes.
  5. After how ICE reacted when confronted with a foot long sub I would expect them to go full rage on anyone pelting them with snowballs.

  8. I understand that like many I have not been satisfied with play calling. But the singular reason we are not in the playoffs is we lost to Florida. And if you are honest, with the talent level we had this year how did that happen? How did we so underperform after such an amazing performance versus Ohio State? While I would love to say that is coaching, I tend to blame the players. I circled Florida as out trap game this season in the Spring. But that was before Florida imploded. They rallied to try and save Napier, as we were fucking sure that our talent would eclipse effort. Big fucking mistake. We were GROSSLY overrated going into the season. Hell what other team do you know of that has a backup QB proclaimed the Heisman front runner. Don't you need to show some shit on the field before such lofty proclamations? Hell CJ Baxter was going to be the second coming of (insert your Ricky or Earl overestimation) In the end, you can coach the shit out of kids, but if they think they are clearly more talented, sometimes (oftentimes) that expectation leads to a lack of urgency. Which opens the door to potential disaster. Taking field goals, instead of TD's is sort of the canary in the coal mine. Right now we have to figure out how to get our OL to block well for whoever is in the backfield. The yearly ability to renegotiate NIL money is something that structurally will need to change over time. But right now the end of season is like a hand of Texas Hold'em from a negotiating standpoint. And for Texas that is a good and bad thing. So when folks say something like keep "so and so at any price!" You have to understand, how upping the paycheck of some, tends to drag up the paychecks of those less worthy. And at some point, you have to decide how much money you can allocate to what positions within your budget. Or can we just decide we can pay more than any team out there at ever position and pay our third stringers Ohio State level starter pay? I like the off season coaching moves, as I think the team needed to see some accountable heads roll after underperforming. I certainly don't like losing any potential pieces of the puzzle from the player side. But it's now part of the money landscape of college football. To be honest this off season/transfer portal is probably the most critical of Sark's time at the wheel.
  9. It’s not that he’d “rather lose,” like Stephen said, they’ll do a self evaluation of their performance, and decide that they did a great job and that there was some other factor that caused the season to go wrong. They’re still the best option to turn this thing around. If they fired themselves as GM they’d obviously lose way more games. That’s a how narcissists think.

    Obviously hasn’t hit puberty yet.
  11. Worked for JT Sanders too in the sense that he was designated athlete, but I’d srgue that’s different because he was an athlete bc he had 2 positional fits that were clean- one on offense and one on defense and a fist fight over who got him in their room. That’s different than the “this guy is athletic but we don’t know that he has any traits where he’s going to succeed guy”. Also- a problem with “athlete” in today’s CFB world is when those guys do develop it often comes late. When guys aren’t on a clear track now it seems they are bigger portal risks. I’d guess in the new world you don’t have many guys stay for year 3 and 4 that haven’t made a decent sized impact on the field by year two. The clock starts ticking earlier than it ever has on guys now.
  12. I thought you were bad mouthing Central market by calling it river oaks HEB. River oaks doesn't extend south of Westheimer and east of Kirby doesn't extend south of San Felipe.
  13. Hopefully it's real, because it's spectacular.
  14. MetLife has a transit option which Arlington does not. It’s absurd and another reason to despise Jerry Jones. It’s also why I’m still pissed the Rangers built out there instead of downtown Dallas. With 80+ home games the stadium should be far more accessible.
  15. Stunning. Reminds me, were you able to finish the renovation projects on the "in town" place? Are you having to check in on it regularly in addition to maintaining normal life in your cabin?
  16. Plus security clearance he failed to qualify for multiple times a la Kush.

  22. KitchenAid refrigerator bit the dust on Christmas Day. We had gotten it in a house sale ten years ago. When we got it, it was already 10 years old, so it lasted 20 years overall. Solid. Holy shit today’s fridges are crap. The quality and customer satisfaction ratings on all of them are terrible. I spent hours trying to find one that “might” be good enough. The construction quality is cheap. Terrible products. Finally we gave up and bought a Whirlpool that was supposedly “good enough”. After three days, the ice dispenser has never worked, the temperature varies way too much, and everything on it feels like it will break if I touch it. This sucks. Taking it back today.
  23. It's been like that for the 11 years I've frequented this site!
  24. Is avoiding Baltimore a past trauma thing or they getting healthy on defense? Plus Lamar is hurt/hedging his bets until he absolutely must came back for the Ravens to make a run. Yes Henry is a problem, but we’ve had past success against him. And the Ravens defense is horrible.
