What the fuck is wrong with you, Houston? Non-CR thread
Evil Bill Obrien replied to crash_davis's topic in Daily Texan
Yeah caught that and the LINK Houston protest race on Friday where the basically tied the Red line train walking for 7 blocks downtown. Thing is it was working much better just a few weeks ago and the City/METRO is actively degrading the system to the point at which it's nearly unusable. Thing that really chaps me is all the responses I have seen from METRO keep emphasizing they are working for a solution that works for everyone...as in they are trying to cater to the thousands upon thousands of single occupant cars driving downtown by slowing the trains to a crawl...what is the point of having a transit agency that is going to screw over its own riders to let people in cars get around faster? -

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again

Livingstone is a gamer. Deluxe. I think Arch may be too. Too bad we don’t have a plethora of likeminded Longhorns. Where’s coach Davis when we need him? Toughness is both bred and cultivated. -
I posted it last week, I can picture a raid happening while the show is ongoing. Worldwide live audience for maximum shock value. And it doesn't matter if everyone involved is a citizen---anyone associated with the halftime show is deemed a suspect by the regime. This administration doesn't care about the optics of such a thing---in fact, they would want this, because "ratings".

All of this information used in a presidential campaign in normal times would be sufficient to get the presidency back for the Democrats. We have crossed into fascism though so all of that is as out the window as the Weimar Republic after 1933 or how Japan was before it got hijacked by a bunch of young hotheads in the Imperial Japanese Army who thought greater Asia revolved around them. We are in the midst of fascism getting its roots deeper in the soil at the moment. Yeah that obviously is not a good thing, but we're there now. Using facts and logic to convince 78 million people to see they are being conned will not work. Lies are the currency that works in America in 2025. Again these types of governments do not have lasting power, but Good Lord do they do some lasting damage once they collapse.

Of all of the dumb things I've read over the past 24 hours, this is probably the dumbest. -
Yes, but he is partially wrong. Our left guard and center sucking is the bigger issue. Cojoe and Baker and Goosby will be fine. Most teams would be very happy to have them. When Oregon got a new coach, we ended up with a great offensive line hall. If we would have had a class like that 2 years later, we wouldn't be talking like we are. Last year should have been a big haul and it wasn't. This year should be a big haul and it may end up being that way but it isn't looking likely right now. We are not bringing in the numbers of quality players we need on the OL and we are taking too many fillers who will sit on the bench and (hopefully) never see the field.

1) The TDP and most of the current state candidates I have heard speak all put some combination of healthcare, education, public safety and jobs as their package but then wraps it in a "not right vs left, but top vs bottom" argument. Talarico has been using that and the whole false christian thing, which seems to be speaking to a lot of people. Maybe we need a WWJD vs WWDJT do? set of memes. This is the message the DNC needs to start pushing, working people's problems and those who are at the root of them. Inequality of wealth distribution will bring Trump down, or bring down this country, or both. We are so have been made spoiled and greedy by a society that has allowed marketing to convince us that our worth is in what we have, not what we do. All we have to do is look like we have a little bit more than a couple of our neighbors, then we are good to go. And now they used our majority religion to do that, which makes it even worse (swing back to Talarico). 2) I wanted change. I wanted Bernie to usher in the anti-Tea Party movement. I went to my first convention to carry our county's meager votes for Bernie. When that failed, I held my nose while I voted for Hillary. I did some research into Trump and tried to be unbiased, but there was just too much in his history to let me ever vote for him. But people at that time wanted wholesale changes in DC and Trump promised that. Remember 'drain the swamp?" He's doing that now, draining it of everyone who knows how a government should work and replacing them with Trump sycophants. He didn't say that last part out loud in his run up to 2016.
