  1. Past hour
  2. Wait, is Macklemore the minority that hates minorities and sucks dick (allegedly) for drugs/money? Thought that was icono
  3. I mean, when has the media and law enforcement ever been wrong on something like this?
  4. I am a bit conflicted on 3rd downs. Its been bad. To be honest Texas has not been great on 3rd downs recently (42nd nationally in 2024, 70th in 2023, and 73rd 2022). The average 3rd down this year is 3rd and 7.43 yards. 1/2 have been 8 or longer. 35% have been 10 yards or more. Best way to convert 3rd downs is to have successful 1st and 2nd down. 3rd and 5 or less, Texas is converting at 50% (not great but not panic worthy). 1 for 13 on 3rd and 8 or longer, which is obviously not good but with new OL and QB not shocking. #1 thing the offense needs to do is find ways to stay on schedule. Too many negative plays going on to be an efficient offense (penalties or tackles for losses).
  5. Like others have said, I imagine taking a cold bore shot at a human (presumably for the first time) adds a decent amount of difficulty and would suggest some level of training...or sociopathy.
  6. the medal of honor is "bestowed for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty" 8 civilians have previously been so decorated https://www.wearethemighty.com/mighty-history/these-8-civilians-received-the-medal-of-honor/
  7. I don't think I agree with you here. The only reason I know the name Charlie Kirk is because of this messageboard. After his death like 3 friends talked about it. I was on a call with peers at work and someone asked outloud "Who is this Kirk guy that died? just got an alert" from a team of people who watch CNBC daily. I think if you are super active online it probably feels the way you bolded, but I'm not seeing it in real life. The markets have been shrugging off everything. Tariffs, for the most part. Bombing Qatar (Hamas) was a huge deal with huge implications-- barely registered on mainstream media fronts. All anyone cares about in the world I see everyday has been a) Oracle's out of the blue story b) "did you see the new iphone air? when are airbuds 3.0 coming?", and most importantly and the bullhorn in every room c) AI bubble/boom. And that seems to be all the market cares about as well right now. tl;dr Long way to say, I don't agree it feels like a climax. Kirk is not a Lincoln or Franz Ferdinand or anyone else of widespread fame/infamy. He seems to be known, loved or hated, by the chronicaly online and vocal minority.
  8. I’ve long held the hope that the typical summer buying cycle might be disrupted if rates fall into attractive territory, but I will share something with the board that’s the benefit of having 40 years of experience either in the industry or growing up under someone in it. Forget about interest rates, affordability, what the Fed might do, etc. Nothing compares to employment uncertainty when it comes pulling buyers off the market.
  9. Especially when they have something shoved in your mouth. Right, Macklemore?
  10. CJ Vogel Posted 18 minutes ago If anyone was wondering where Texas ranked on the penalty front – • 128th in penalty yards per game (82.5) • t120th in total penalties called against (18) • 123rd in penalties per game (9.0) Texas opponents have averaged just 15.0 yards per game in penalty yards, which puts them at 132nd in the country in opponents penalty yards
  11. Actually, I didn't read your post closely enough. Luigi left his writings at the scene by way of bullets and casings. But I think our shooter here was aware the rifle and mags would be recovered, so I don't see much import to the distinction.
  12. I didn’t say they were. I’m saying the board consensus after what they rolled out last week changed. Hence why I said depending on your take Yours obviously isn’t that. Other seem to think so I’ll take the next 2 sub tier teams and a bye week as much needed to iron out the issues
  13. Can’t access FB. Is this related to the cop who was shot at Barton Springs, or was the story I heard from my wife Trixified?
  14. especially in perfect conditions from a prone position
  15. The different reality is legit. My niece (who I was close with) has gone full MAGA. Shes on the “Ashley Babbit was murdered in cold blood” wagon. “Kirk was a free speech hero.” Etc etc. just completely and totally gone. I sent her something from a .gov website that contradicted something she believed and she immediately called it the Biden gov website. This was two days ago. So many people are broken.
  16. Texas - 48 UTEP - 10 WR yds - 310
  17. Ranked opponents doesn't include road losses to Miss State, Ole Miss, S. Carolina, et al.. They haven't done well against insanely beatable opponents either. That Covid victory for Texas againt OSU back in 2020 would not have been a lay-up for the Aggies. They weren't the wronged juggernaut that they claim they were. The record vs ranked opponents only comes up when they play ranked opponents. This appears to the writer above to be a dispensation from facing the full dismal picture. Also, does he factor in the low percentage of games A&M plays away from home?
  18. CJ Vogel Posted 22 minutes ago Show Me Improvement vs. UTEP Saturday will be the third time this year we get to see Arch Manning lead the Texas Longhorns onto the field in the 2025 season. Through the first two games, I think it is fair to say there remains plenty of room for the Texas offense to grow into its final version of itself. Of course, that is the biggest objective of the next two weekends – improve step by step. Texas has time to mature into the offensive unit I believe can compete for a National Championship, but it must take advantage of every opportunity on the field ahead of the big dogs on the schedule and this weekend is no exception. So, a few areas I would love to see Arch Manning and the Texas offense improve upon in week three against UTEP. *** ***These are Texas' ranks out of the 136 FBS teams*** 3rd Downs Texas ranks 121st in 3rd down conversions ... 7/26 (26.92%) A 2-12 performance against San Jose State was certainly underwhelming, but beyond that, it was the performance on 1st and 2nd down that prevented the Longhorns from extending drives or moving the chains. The average distance needed on 3rd downs sat at 9.7 yards. That is losing football. A statistic worth sharing from our Rod Babers. *** Drives That Reach the Opposing 20-Yard Line I really value the 'per drive' statistics when evaluating the performance of an offense, and while only two weeks of play is a tough sample size for firm assertions, there is always value in numbers whether they lean one way or the other. This statistic is essentially a red zone statistic with a fancy name. Offensive drive success rate per bcftoys.com (Percentage of non-garbage time, regulation offensive drives that end with touchdown or field goal attempt) Texas (66.7%) ranks 119th in the country in success rates for offensive possessions when reaching the opponent's red area. *** Play Action vs. Straight Drop Backs for Arch Manning I thought week two was a step in the right direction for Arch Manning and the Texas offense. Short fields or not, just seeing the ball cross the goal line should go a long way for the confidence of this unit. Now, it is about stacking those high-scoring weekends consecutively for that confidence to evolve into an identity offensively. Of all of the snaps we have seen from Arch Manning in 2025, perhaps no other statistic stands out to me as much as this one. The difference in play action pass attempts vs. straight drop backs. And forgive me, I am going the PFF route on this one. Arch Manning passing grade on PA passes: 38.9 ... ranking 135th out of 141 qualifying QBs Arch Manning passing grade on straight drop back attempts: 93.4 ... ranking 2nd out of 141 qualifying QBs This goes back to my point about trusting the Texas offensive line when his back is turned to create the play action fake. There is something with Arch that has yet to click in the play action passing game when he turns back to survey the defense, he is often quick to check down before routes develop or come open as designed vertically down the field. Perhaps it is a speed of the game thing. The idea is the more these plays are repped, the more improvement we will see. So for this weekend, circle those longer developing play action pass attempts for Arch. *** Explosive Plays in General Facing Ohio State as early in the season as Texas did probably doesn't help this statistic, but it is worth mentioning where Texas stands currently in the explosive run game category. 8 Runs of 10+ yards ... ranks 84th 1 Run of 20+ yards ... ranks t-99th The longest rush of the season is 20 yards, coming from Arch on his QB scramble for a touchdown in week two. Only one Texas rush attempt from a running back eclipsed 15 yards. On the flip side, the Texas passing game is more home runs than singles, which is exactly what I anticipated in early August. 15 Pass Plays of 10+ yards ... ranks 83rd 8 Pass Plays of 20+ yards ... ranks 32nd 6 Pass Plays of 30+ yards ... ranks 6th **** Screen Plays It will always have a role in the Steve Sarkisian offense, but there is an element missing in 2025. Texas does not have the body type, nor the willingness through two weeks to have success in the lead blocking aspect of the quick screen game on the perimeter. Perhaps that changes with the eventual addition of Emmett Mosley V to the lineup, but it certainly has been underwhelming in my opinion. Arch is 12-12 passing on screen plays Those 12 completions have gone for 42 total yards 3.5 yards per attempt That's not good enough in the quick game, or with the involvement of the offensive line. Must improve if it going to continue being holding a 15%-20% play call share in Sarkisian's offense.
  19. Sarks been pretty vanilla. Teams still has a lot of iterations to go. I’m not sure they have the foot on the gas yet
  20. Mistakes lead to experience and experience often leads to wisdom over time. Reps as a group, with most of the group being young and inexperienced, should be expected to be choppy and inconsistent at the beginning of the learning curve. This was not considered as a collective across the span of CFB (media, fans, etc.) for the Texas offense. It probably should have been. Many people on this thread and across this site still aren't in a spot where they're viewing anything through that lens. I'll be surprised if we don't see progress against UTEP, but I'm guessing it will still be frustrating. Should look better again against SHSU. "But it's SHSU!! They should look good!!" No shit. Then, Florida will be an actual exam for what the team has learned and if they're ready on offense to be a part of a title contender, or not. No. This post reminds me of when someone smells or tastes something, declares it terrible, and then asks you to try it as well. Why the fuck wouldn't I just take your word for it? This is a terrible take. Florida is not a cupcake and will not be considered a cupcake and winning in The Swamp will be a tall order irrespective of what condition the UF program is in at that time. Good lord, man.
  21. Consent? To move a post on a private website? LOL just another retarded snowflake
  22. 200 yards with a 30.06 is not a shot that requires a professional. I use a 30.06 for deer and hog hunting. The shooter could have been aiming for center mass and had a lucky miss and hit the neck instead. I've done it before with a deer.
  23. I know you are ancient and the brain is addled.... but take away 24 years from that date, and maybe the correlation might kick in from that day to todays date.
  24. Hell, the director of the FBI has been wrong multiple times already on this! We gotta get our top antiterrorism expert on the case It's going to be fascinating watching the information worm turn on this issue over the next few days as things are released and retracted
  25. I have speculated before on this board about how bad at your job you have to be in order to be fired from your job as a Democrat. I don't think there is a bottom. He is running in the Democratic Primary. Being a Democrat doesn't really distinguish himself in that field.
