  3. There have been dozens of shootings at schools in the US this year From CNN's Alex Leeds Matthews, Amy O’Kruk and Annette Choi Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University today — marking the 46th shooting that took place at a school in the United States so far this year. Twenty-four were on college campuses and 22 were on K-12 school grounds. The incidents left 18 people dead and at least 76 other victims injured, according to CNN’s analysis of events reported by the Gun Violence Archive, Education Week and Everytown for Gun Safety. CNN cross checks these reports of school shootings against school and police accounts and media reports. All incidents of gun violence are included if they occurred on school property, from kindergartens through colleges/universities, and at least one person was shot, not including the shooter. This post has been updated with additional information about how CNN tracks shootings at schools.
  4. When people tell you who they are, believe them
  5. For the record, I was "defending" a generic rotting corpse's governing ablities vs. our current fucktard. I gave a speech in a class (in the CMA, IIRC) on the virtues of The Communist Manifesto, though, I will admit, I tailored it from a centrist perspective. That semester I also wrote a paper on the probable unlikeliness of Jesus's divinity, though I was hesitant to go as far as @BrickHorn and others would have and argue along the lines of a Christ myth theory (that JHC was not a real person, but merely a symbol meant to lead one on a journey for truth). What's the point of me saying this? Get over yourself. You don't have a monopoly on fuckall, let alone how anyone should think about historical figures. Your posts of late have been the worst kind of purity testing pablum, neither insightful nor particularly interesting. Get a new schtick.
  6. On the video everyone immediately looks right and up into the parking garage.
  7. i've seen 2 witnesses say it. he was asked about mass shootings and mentioned gang violence then was shot.
  8. Don't worry, there was also a school shooting in Evergreen, CO at the same time as an assassination attempt (success?)
  9. This is really bad. I don’t care what you think about Charlie Kirk but political violence like this doesn’t have a natural ending point, and it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. God help us all.
  10. Thoughts and prayers
  11. I was actually thinking about that exact video when I read that comment
  12. Dont care what politics ya believe but celebrate a guy (husband, father) being murdered is pretty sick.
  13. It sucks that this is where we are in America, but I greatly prefer this--targeted attempts at one person--over school shootings and other random public shooters where the only objective is body count. Since we're not going to do anything about the guns, and we're not going to do anything about mental health. What a country.
  14. seriously? wow
  15. Thread is a tad ironic given the violence an old person did today against someone who said things he didn't like.
  16. That's a neck shot and he is dead. If that was a deer it wouldn't make it 20 yds.
  17. Don't even try to sit and lecture someone about "where the value is" in a certain section, to people who have written huge checks for the actual privilege of having those seats. It's not One or The Other. It's the privilege, that you paid for, of being able to do both, when you want, how you want. You have no concept of how many of those seats above the gray ones are also empty, or sparsely populated, because it's harder to see. Trust me, they're empty and sparsely populated a lot of the time. You're making up conclusions to support your shitty line of thinking and confirmation bias. The value, is supporting your university, and having the money to do whatever the fuck you want without being told. That includes "It's raining and I don't want to get wet I'm going inside" to "It's hot, I'm going to stay in the A/C" or "I'm not going to the game, the opponent sucks." The people that show up may be more interested in the game. But I've got news for you, people like us are outliers. The richer MOST fans are, the more it's a social event. They're not diehards. The section next to us, we saw the guy who bought it on opening day, and that section has had people in a grand total of THREE times in the 5 years we've had tickets. Opening day year 1, seats he sold to some GA people and oddly last weekend. These are people that don't NEED to sell seats on 3rd party websites. They don't care. Those are also the people you count on to fund your Athletic Department to do the shit you want to fucking do, because Burnt Orange & White is showing up with a 200k check and an offer to buy out some gray seats who's behavior he doesn't like. Also, you're advocating a car dealership repossessing your car because they don't like the way you drive it. A car you paid for in CASH. Do you just think there's that many Texas fans out there that want to cut massive checks for the RIGHT to spend tons on season tickets each year to be told what to fucking do? Do you even realize how fucking stupid you sound?
  18. he was talking about gun violence when he was shot. what a country.
  19. Sure was. There's no way he survives that. He also lost the opportunity to spread racism, hate, bigotry, misogyny, and lies to millions for the next 50 years. In that sense the world will be a better place.
  20. He had to have.
