  3. You guys really believe Bijan was bought after we spent weeks praising how much of a "culture fit" he was for Texas? The kid just clicked with a school that's has a superior RB coach, gameday atmosphere, and NFL track record. Boat rides on Lake Austin will never trump that. You're wasting your time fretting over losing a recruit to them, Bama, Clemson, etc..at least until we get to their level. It's when those dorks to the east win one over us that my ears perk up.

  5. Had a chance to chat a little with everyone’s favorite former director of Aggy recruiting. A few funny takeaways. She spoke well of both Jimbo and Saban, but she obviously thinks more of Saban. Underrated sense of humor, unmatched intensity. First OV weekend after national championship wins he’s walking around wound up so tight you would’ve thought they went 2-8. She didn’t deny Saban’s interest in Texas, but contrary to what I’ve read here in the past she says Teri never would’ve wanted to be here. I mentioned supposedly Nick had some investments go south and had financial reasons to look around and she did say that Bama boosters paid off his house. That may not have been all they did, but that’s what she mentioned. I asked about some of the assistants and everything you hear about Lane Kiffin is true. She was aware of Joey Freshwater. Lane is a real character. Wink wink. I didn’t pound too much on Jimbo/Aggies, but when she found out I was a Longhorn fan she was disappointed. “Longhorn fans have been very mean to me.” I’m guessing through twitter. Topics im gonna try to work in next time: What the fuck is up with MeeMaw? How does the bagmen thing work?

  8. Shit's about to get even more realer down here. We hired an executive chef to run the kitchen so that I can focus on other things that need my attention. Jaime Valencia joins our team on July 28th. Jaime has some pretty serious chops and most recently has been the kitchen manager at Feges Barbecue (a job I helped him get). Prior to his stint at Feges, Jaime was sous chef at Ritual and at The Grove. Jaime worked with me briefly in between Ritual and Feges, and we have similar views on how to incorporate bbq into more traditional dishes. This is a huge get for Buck's. He's a guy I've wanted to cook with for some time, and a guy who can help us elevate our product. To say I'm ecstatic would be an understatement. We'll roll out some menu changes and dinner service in August. I wanted these changes made sooner but timing did not permit.

  13. With the great tradition of running backs at UT, from Earl to Metcalf to Ricky, Holmes, Cedric, Jamal, Foreman, and now Ingram, I will never understand a Texas kid passing up the chance to be the next great back at Texas. For the previous 7 or 8 years, I understand. But now? When the program is on the way back, the offensive line is stacking up for years to come, the QB room looks incredible, and skill position players are too numerous to name, I just dont get it. How could you not want to run behind this offensive line for the next 3 or 4 years and play with Sam, Roschon, Hudson, and JaQuinden in the backfield? Insanity for a Texas kid to want to go any other place.

  21. Maybe your dumb kids should have studied harder and received merit based scholarships to UT. Then you wouldn't have to live like one of these filthy poors who are now going to be driving around in Ferraris since they get to go to school for free.

  25. Back in the day when I was spending too much of my free time playing NCAA football dynasties on PS2 and I was too good to play with Texas over and over, I’d play with other smaller schools, but always check in on how Texas was doing in the future years. In one simulation, they had one of the best QBs in the country, but no RB depth, one guy rated 83, one rated 79, and then a walk-on. I thought there was no way in hell that could happen.

  27. The negative recruiting excuse is just that, an excuse. Good recruiters can counter any negative pitch. The problem is we don't have good recruiters at RB & DL OU has not fielded a defense worth a shit in years, but somehow they keep landing good DBs and DEs and DTs. Jimbo the QB Whiffer hasn't developed a QB since Jameis Winston but yet people still buy that load of shit from him.

  31. Lulz. Charlie Strong was a "a little bad at player development." Since Herman got here, player development has been great and will only get better as his more talented players get older. Jimbo, on the other hand, recruited at an elite level at FSU and had jack shit to show for it since Jameis left, including losing to a much less talented UH squad coached by Herman. One of those coaches is "a little bad at player development," it's the cuck, not the dude doin blow off strippers' bellies while his wife cheers him on . . . allegedly.

  33. we're not helping our case by that reasoning, true or not egg meet chicken. recruit: (via negative recruiting) the run game is qb first, rb second. goal line stats prove that. us: that's because we don't have rb's of your caliber. recruit: you don't have a rb that can gain 1 yard? that's on your oline. us: that's because we dont' have rb's of your caliber to offset our shitty oline. recruit: /applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I don't care if we have to throw every billionaire in Manhattan in jail along with half of Congress. Nobody should be untouchable, especially when it comes to raping children.

  39. I feel like this is what we've been needing to get Drayton over the hump. Or more accurately, out of his office napping and actually using his phone and emails to connect with recruits and texas high school football coaches. We just haven't been pleading hard enough for him to, you know, do his actual job for which he is paid handsomely. I'm confident all will now be well.
