I've been fortunate enough that I generally don't mind my job and rarely have legitimately "bad" days. That said, there's a brief moment of stress when I get to my desk and open my work email in the morning. Not a fan of having my work day immediately start with something that necessitates a substantive response. Definite sense of relief when the inbox is just industry newsletter bs or generic firm-wide messages. After a little while, sure, bring it on, but let me settle in for a bit first.

I thought this was a chick with her pants pulled down and her ass sticking out.  Then I wondered why her “thighs” looked fucked up.

This is easily solved by not opening your inbox until 10am

Houston I-45 says hi!

I used to live in Clear Lake.

I commuted 45 to Beltway to the energy corridor for almost 20 years. I drove through construction every single day of that part of my career.

I used to go to Carlos‘s barbershop (and beer garden) in Webster. Carlos used to cut astronauts’ hair, and had a great astronaut memorabilia collection. It was all destroyed hurricane Ike.

Carlos knew men who had started their careers as young men working on 45 South Gulf freeway and ended their careers as old men working on 45 South Gulf Freeway.  It is a never-ending construction project.

Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
