But the PR and NIL opportunities of Arch/Sark versus Quinn/Belichick prolly more than make up for potential lower NFL draft contract.

To add to your counterpoint, he hasn't had a full complete healthy season since he was a soph in HS.

If Cam Williams and Isaiah Bond have the combine performances I expect, we would have had five top 50 draft picks starting on offense in 2024. Possibly a few more draft picks scattered throughout that ‘24 offensive class. Paired with a historically great defense. It’s amazing we didn’t play for a national title. It’s even more incomprehensible that we were inches away from a loss to Arizona State.

Yup! Quinn throwing a duck of an interception vs Arizona state,

Do you ever consider the good things?  His performance against ASU was essentially dead even with those against UMich and UF, as per QBR.

That's cool but he's also the reason we were in that situation with his turnovers. I consider his pass in OT to be good. It took him 3 years to have a signature play, fwiw.

I blame the ASU game more on Sark.  Run at the motherfuckers all game like they did to us and we can salt it away like the Kentucky and Arkansas games.

I mean does anyone really think that ASU could take 4 quarters of our line beating on them?  Skattebo didn't do shit until the 4th quarter after we were a bit fatigued.

Yes - totally abandoned the running game vs ASU. Did the same, IMO, vs OSU the next game. Didn’t help that I really think Arch got concussed on his 1st down run.

3 passing, 1 rushing.  Oh, the horror.

two of those TDs came in OT because bert missed a chip shot FG that would have won us the game. Quinn was pretty terrible during regulation and if Texas doesn’t have a pumpkin pie haircutted freak for a kicker then QE’s statistical day vs ASU sucks.

He had one turnover

One lousy throw for an interception while we had the lead which led to Arizona St tying it up. The ball was a fucking duck that should have never been thrown. Also it was 2nd and 4 when interception was thrown with 5:44 remaining in regulation. Tre had just ripped off a 6 yard run on 1st down.

But it didn’t. Whole lotta ifs and buts around here.

is this gonna be every single post you make in this thread? you don’t have to keep chiming in every five minutes to say the exact same useless shit about “hypotheticals”, especially since the gulf in class between Arch and QE is vast, and evident to anyone whose nose isn’t five inches deep into quinn’s asshole. “if we’d have played our best players we’d probably have done better” isn’t the crazy hypothetical you’re making it out to be, and even if it was, we’ve heard you already mrs.ewers. you can stop repeating yourself now.

I've been avoiding this thread because it's turned into such a shitshow, but it's becoming weirdly enjoyable. Like a poo flinging fight at the monkey house. I appreciate that y'all keeping riling up the antisocial drunks.

This coming from you in this thread is rich indeed. There’s nothing hypothetical about his stat line in that game.

Defense also got molested by Skattebo let’s not leave that out.

Hard to stop a human wrecking ball for the entire fucking game when your offense has 8 minutes TOP in the first 4 quarters because they cant get a fucking first down against a Big 12 defense.

how do? there’s nothing controversial or inaccurate about what i said. QE played poorly for four quarters vs asu, and if our idiot kicker doesn’t miss a chip shot FG then quinn doesn’t get those last two TDs which game in drives where the ball started on the opposing 25 yard line. what about that is “rationalization”? it’s just facts.

Idk I think you should stop a midget from throwing a 40 yard TD and catching a 60 yard pass regardless. My expectations may be too high though.

If our kicker didn’t suck Ewers would’ve won the game in regulation like a bitch.

funny how with you QE cultists every win gets credited to QE while every loss is the fault of his better, more highly performing teammates. “ewers would have won the game”. right.

i don’t care how much a shit show that a thread becomes, the people who come into the thread to complain about how much the thread sucks are the dumbest people on this board. absolutely no one is making you enter this thread, and you already know what’s going on in here. coming in here to complain about what’s going on in here is even dumber than not being able to admit that QE was never one of our better players or claiming that it’s impossible to know if Arch was any better last than QE last season.

Fuck you.  Seriously.  There's no "cult" here, it's just people trying to inject a little sanity into the narrative constantly pushed by Arch fanbois.

I hope Arch is WAY better than Quinn.  That would be a good thing.  If he's a little bit better, that would be a good thing, too.

I root for Texas, and I don't knob-slob as a middle-aged man over some fucking kid.

Well, some of us enter this thread thinking it will be about Ewers and combine news…or other related Ewers information. After all, the title of the thread is not "Fecal Fight."

Agreed shitty throw. That isn’t multiple turnovers and isn’t why the defense let a bowling ball white RB buttfuck them.

The defense shut him down if you don’t recall. He was scolding trainers and teammates in frustration on the sidelines from lack of success. The defense played way too many snaps, they were plugging the run and chasing Levitt all over the field. Eventually, they gassed out.

Seriously. I can acknowledge Ewers was bad to quite shitty at times. Just makes you wonder how much Arch was lacking last season not to be able to get Sark to trust him. Another offseason should be great for him.

look we’re not rewriting history here, and the only way you have an issue with this is if you’re looking for one.

quinn ewers, notoriously poor at moving the chains, driving the field, amd scoring touchdowns, did not play well for the four quarters of football where he was tasked with doing just that. at the end of regulation, everyone not named quinn or bert had played well enough to win the game. those two no-shows were the reason we didn’t win going away.

then, in OT, when we get spotted the ball at the opponents 25 yard line and sark can more or less dial up his TD plays, quinn completed a couple of basic pitch-and-catch throws and made his final stat line look much better than it otherwise would have.

again, that’s just facts. you might not like these facts, but that’s what went down. if you’re going to exasperatedly cite QE having a 3 TD day as an indicator that he played well, then it’s more than fair to add some context as to how and why it was 3 TD day, and not a 1 TD/1 int/should-have-been-two-or-three-int day where we barely scraped by the inarguably inferior asu on a chip shot fg as time expired.

But do you compare how you deal with injury to how a 21-year-old soon-to-be professional athlete deals with injury? I mean, can't argue in the face of objective proof like that, you know.

Crazy you’d take this stance. The defense consistently bailed out a stalling offense all-season. A&M, Arkansas, Kentucky, Vandy, SEC Title game, Arizona State, etc. Throwing them under the bus for a 3rd year QB with 17 turnovers in 14 games is interesting.

I'm not sure your point.  I really don't care how Quinn does in the pros.  I hope he gets drafted high and if he does well thereafter, great, it reflects well on the UT program, but as far as any investment in his future goes?  Nah.

It does raise an issue -- why is he "injury prone"?  Is it physiological?  Is it his style of play, perhaps related to his inability to navigate the pocket and avoid big hits?  I have no idea.

I'm always amazed by people who get rattled because football is being discussed on a football message board. We thought QE would be a generational talent. He wasn't. When healthy, he was a good college QB. He was rarely healthy. If you really think an injured Quinn was our best option last season, so be it. That opinion is going to look silly later this year.

Having a legit shot for a title, with the kind of defense we had last season, is a rare occurence. Opportunities like that need to be maximized.

Well he only had one turnover in that game and they got pantsed by Skattebo so idk what any other games have to do with it.
