a F5 mile-wide eraser of god like the moore events, joplin, etc. is not easily represented in logo form

so a F2 has to suffice

i've always thought unlv should change their mascot/name from running rebels to something that would allow them to put a mushroom cloud on their helmets

I haven't tasted Bugles in about 27 years but I want to say they were delicious. Granted , I was high at the time and hadn't tasted Bugles since the 80's.

TLDR ,  I've tasted Bugles once in the last 4 decades and I think they taste good, fuck I am old.

The death of the black uniforms is a nice touch in all of this.

Agreed

Watch him try to install black uniforms at PSU

Pretty excited about this hire.  Dude knows the Midwest and knows how to win.  Probably won’t stay for a decade, but the days of Bill Snyder and Kirk Ferentz are (nearly) over.

knows how to win

A ridiculous and meaningless phrase.  No offense.  What you mean is he can get good players and teach them how to block, tackle, and not do stupid things.  That’s how you win.

Winning is a skill.  You see coaches that get good players and can’t win with them all the time.  You see guys that can win with lesser players.

He won an FCS natty two years ago and unseated his arch rival perma-wagon in the process.

It doesn’t mean I think we just made some genius level hire, I just think he’s inarguably proven his ability to guide a team to a championship.

He is getting a $30m NIL fund and a $17m assistant coach fund to spend in his first year. Curious how he does with actual resources.

Make 5 star players into 3 star culture.

Matt Campbell has impressed me as much as any coach in CFB the past decade putting multiple star players in the league from freaking Ames, Iowa while playing in a second tier conference.  Great get by Penn State.  The only question is whether Campbell’s magic only works doing more with less instead of having first dibs on top recruiting and transfer talent.  These highly sought-after coaches that choose to stay at less relevant programs (Whittingham is another example) are really interesting to me.  Campbell’s could’ve gone anywhere over the past 8 years or so, but he consistently passed.  One wonders what made Penn State right for him…..or perhaps Penn State’s timing was just right.  As for Iowa State, odds are the magic is over and it’s back to complete irrelevancy

I’ve said for years he would likely leave for one of the 4 Rust Belt blue bloods - Pedo, ND, Mich, OSU.  He and his wife are both from eastern Ohio and their family is all there.  His mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and I know damn well if I was living 12 hours from home, and my mom got cancer, and I was offered a huge raise to be within casual driving distance, I’d absolutely pull the trigger.

I think he’ll win consistently there, but I just can’t see him winning a title.  If they can accept that and be happy with 10-11 win playoff appearance teams, he’ll do fine.

I think we’ll be fine, relatively.  Part of his success at ISU has been a result of excellent fan support, and facilities.  We have the second largest stadium in the conference and fill it regularly.  I see no reason that Rogers can’t win 7-9 games regularly.  That’s good enough for me and nearly every ISU fan.

Looks like there’s 3 ranked teams on that schedule at most. Depending on how UM and USC are next year, it’s possible they play the entire season without playing a ranked team.

USC plays OSU, IU, UO, UW, and ND.

UM plays Oklahoma, Iowa, IU, UO, and OSU.
