Arch was missing throws I've never seen a quarterback at Texas miss other than Swoopes maybe. He would even tell you he was missing throws he had never missed before in his life. What he's doing now doesn't change any of that. He was playing terribly and if you couldn't see that then you have your head stuck up your ass

Nobody said he wasn't missing throws. The difference between bench Arch and be patient crowds is that one side refused to acknowledge the ceiling and give him some time to figure this out. It's not like he was a complete unknown. We saw him last year, so we had a pretty good idea what he was capable of when he gets better OL play and run game support and the game starts to slow down.

It doesn't take a genius to react based on his struggles. It takes some brain to realize that perhaps give him some time and fix the other issues.

You can admit he was bad, and he's better now, or you can continue to be a fucking moron trying to run laps about you being right.  Get off it man, this is pointless.

Oh wow, you said he was bad when a new QB was struggling with a bad OL and now you are willing to give him credit for playing better. How nice and smart of you! Wish the rest of us could also be as observant as you are. The moment he struggles again, you will be the first with "told you so" diarrhea all over the board.

You know what's worse than being a fucking idiot and calling for Arch to be benched in the middle of the MSU game when he was literally our entire offense in that game? Being an even bigger fucking idiot who tries to argue that yeah actually that was the right call at the time and saying otherwise is "revisionist history".

Oh shove this condescending BS up your ass.  yes the OL was bad. Yes sark was bad.  No run game. And He STILL was missing passes he should have made at a much higher clip than he should have.  You can't excuse it all away.

Ya'll are beating a dead horse here, pretending we hate Arch.  fuck no i don't hate arch I WANT him to succeed here.  He wasn't early.

And Yes guapo I was cause he was NOT good.  The offense was just as much Wingo, who everyone was shitting all over, making YAC.

Just stop this.  Arch is better now. Let's hope it stays that way and we don't see anymore bad Arch.  Ya'll would rather be right than admit the guy was not playing well.

Fuck it, I'm just not going to let idiots lie about how Arch was playing, that we were wrong IN THE MOMENT,  and pretend that I have some vendetta against him.

But sure, keep circle jerking each other.

Geezus man, the dude was playing awful. @Drew is completely 100% right about that, and I WAS NOT part of the pull Arch crowd. What you don't see is your coach just completely changed the offense and basically won't call anything Arch can't do. Sark is famous for not having stationary receivers. He changed that. Sark doesn't like spread offenses. He changed that too. Probably 50% of the yards Arch had were screens. The line didn't magically get better. Arch didn't magically get better. Coach is holding his hand where he wasn't before, and making sure the line doesn't have to hold blocks long. If we started calling the game the way he was a couple games ago, Arch would go right back to looking like that Arch. Everyone is happy we have a productive offense but don't get it twisted if you think Sark is going to run an offense that has its receivers sideline to sideline the rest of the season. Winter is coming!

you guys are aligning yourself with BO & W. The company you keep

Aligning yourself with someone who wanted at minimum competent QB play the first part of the season? I give arch props when he played well. But he was atrociously bad at the beginning and it had nothing to do with inexperience. If he continues to play like he has on the 14 quarters he’s played well then he’ll yeah I’m glad he will be back.

our luck he continues to ball out the rest of the year, gets drafted in the first round, sark leaves us for the nfl after losing in the final seconds of semifinals playoff game.

we then lose our qb, backup and coach all while all good coaches are locked up in shiny new contracts.

I think Sark has realized he has no more room to experiment and try to force experience of his offense on this team. I was afraid he was going to revert back when WRs started dropping like flies Saturday but he didn’t. Barring a major injury issue I think this is the offense for the rest of the season. And then we start all over again next year.

I just hope he doesn’t go super genius during the bye and revert from what he did in 4th quarter vs Florida, Oklahoma game, MSU game late, and now Vandy. That is straight up the offense he needs to run for the rest of the year. Deviating from that would be dumb

I have zero faith in that my brother. Pretty sure Sark got pressured into making some changes by the people who write his checks. He put a guy in the booth, and then did what he had to do to show he can call his own plays. That said, as soon as ole buddy thinks the pressure is off he will likely revert back to HIS offense. Right now he isn't running his offense. He is running Lane Kiffin's offense. I don't usually talk about behind the scenes stuff, but if you were reading the tea leaves. Sark NFL interest comes out just as Arch is struggling and the BMDs are getting restless. A bit of a power struggle

I’d say he can’t possibly be this stupid, but then again he will be.  Quinn gets drafted 7th round and Dart goes 1st…

Bold strategy by Sark.

Stubborn is more like it. We've all seen this Sark movie before. There have been plenty of times since Sark has been here where he has opened up the offense and we've all seen what it could be only to watch him revert back to what he likes again. Offense can be easy, but Sark prefers whimsical over easy all day everyday.

Did I call him a nepo baby?  You and bow are two of the biggest trolls here. Congrats

Does it matter what the exact verbiage was?

Slow developing play with his back to the line and gets sacked. Quinn is terrible. Slow developing play with his back to the line and gets sacked. Arch needs more time. We try to block a DE with a TE and Quinn gets sacked. Quinn needs to make a play. We try to block a DE with a TE and Arch gets sacked. Why would we do that to Arch. 3rd and 15 and we don't pick it up. Quinn can't carry a team. 3rd and 15 and Arch can't pick it up. Why are we putting Arch in these long yardage situations. Long routes with no outlet vs a blitz. Quinn sucks and can't play. Long routes with no outlet vs a blitz. No one is getting their heads around to help Arch.

BWO at least had the same expectations for Arch as he did for Quinn. You guys "opinion" is based solely on whether or not you like someone or not, and not the situation. The 180 on the same shit that was a problem last year is comedy gold. You don't even see it, and you don't even recognize that is what some of us were complaining about. Weirdos, I am telling you.

Quinn had terrible pocket presence and self sacked all the time because of it, that’s what people who know what they’re watching had a problem with among other things like being ass at throwing the deep ball

Again, the same systemic issues Arch was having Quinn was having. The difference was Quinn was just good enough to not force Sark to make permanent changes. If you guys still don't see it, it's pretty shameful at this point. Anytime we opened the offense up and went 4 wide, Quinn looked like Arch looks now. But we always came back to the same grind it out, slow ass 12 personnel, ball control offense. The next QB that is under center when Sark is back to running his offense will be the same. And the next guy after that. The same way Sark's offense was in the NFL, or any other place not named Bama. One day you guys will figure it out.

I don’t disagree with you about spreading the offense out, but comparing Quinn and Arch is honestly just silly. Arch is going to be a first round draft pick and Quinn was a 7th round pick. Quinn has some huge holes in his skillset that Arch doesn’t.

If Arch spent the rest of the season playing in the offense he was playing in the first 4 or 5 games, what round would he get drafted in? If Quinn came out in 2023 what round would he get drafted in?

The line did magically get better by not having Brooks or Stroh out there. That was the best pocket we’ve had all year by far.

the line did get better with Hutson at LG.  I'm not sure the pockets were a ton better because we got the ball out way quicker and spread out so that they didn't have ability to blitz and stunt with as many guys in the box BUT we didn't have many busted assignments or flat out whiffs that were going on with Robertson/Stroh/Brooks combo.  Maybe Hutson at guard helped Robertson too.  Stroh is a senior right?  It is just amazing how bad he was.  he was the double whammy of awful technique and busting assigments.

@elguapo to further my point. Where does Hurts get drafted if he never plays for Riley? Or Baker Mayfield. Is Cam Ward a number one pick if he doesnt go to Miami and stays at Incarnate Word or Washington State? What offense you play in and how you look in that offense matters. Scouts and NFL teams get caught up in the hype just as much as fans do. Thats how Johnny Manziel gets picked in the 1st round.

He also got the ball out faster than he had all year with average 2.5 seconds. That matters in terms of line looking good

We were justifiably assuming QE would be a heisman winner (or at least finalist) and 1st round pick too… prior to the back half of that junior year.

Crazy part of this season is the offense has bailed out the defense the last 2 games. That was not expected. I dont think has happened since KSU in 2023

You are doing that exact "I told you so" diarrhea right now. I guess people were stupid for saying Garret Gilbert sucked, or Tyrone Swoopes sucked, or Hudson Card sucked, because Arch played just as badly as they ever did. He got over the yips, thank god. You're not some football mastermind for having blind hope that ends up being realized over the last couple of games. Professional football players who are much more knowledgeable than you were also very concerned about Arch's film.

Stroh needs to improve his footwork significantly and stop lunging so much. I don't want to give up on the big galoot, but he's been a liability. We've got our best 5 OL in now, thank God. Finally

This.   I think we all said he needed to get better or else.  We just thought some patience is warranted and the guy is still getting criticized after throwing for 700 yards and 7 tds the last two games.
