How the fuck is Bama hosting as a 14 seed when they went under 4 games under .500 in conference?  Complete bullshit.

Massive SEC bias.

The committee is terrible, but putting the 20 RPI at the #1 would have been way worse than what they did.

TXST went 4-0 vs aTm and PSU in the regular season.  Nice to see aggy get screwed, but we got screwed more.

The bad news - I'm out of the country until next Tuesday, so regional coverage will fall to y'all.  I'll do my best to follow along, especially for our regional, but I'm probably SOL on watching and keeping up in real time.

I have failed you all.

well..like..ain't this a buncha bullshit.  you know they have planes that fly and get you back in country, right?

I'm not cutting short my vacation.  I will sail the high seas to watch if I can't find a VPN.

Michella Chester, who does the NCAA’s softball social media, is picking Texas to win it all

I would guess Reese is going to be first team AA. TK, Stewie and Henry could and should be freshman AAs. Of the rest of our team, Citlaly and Scott could land on an AA team as well

Think Scott may make it as a utility player, White did the thing where you start her in OF then move her to 3rd before the first pitch to get her credit for starts in multiple positions.

Excellent AAS podcast with Mike White worth 17 min of your time.   He breaks down composing the team lineup,  reviews the Regional opponents,  and other great comments.    Mike is a coaching wizard and a great representative of the University of Texas.

As of this hour,  TexasSports.com has not published a preview of the Regional.    Below are opponent stats if interested.   Realize there is a difference in competition,  but don't sleep on St Francis.   They won 40 ball games, hit .309,  ERA 1.67 (3 good arms), field only .963.    They beat Sienna twice in an early season tournament.

Texas got quite a bit of run on XM84 today. Fozzy was hosting with Jacob Hester and they ended up talking with Bohls. None of us like Bohls, but he does well hyping other UT sports. Whittaker and Hester played into it well. I would describe it as a love fest for UT sports with softball being lauded as much as anyone besides football. Great pub time. Hester, a Louisiana boy, chose Saban and LSU over Mack and UT, but he admits being a UT fan otherwise and always liking Texas growing up. He’s one of the better ones on XM84.

No offense intended, my man, “but don’t sleep on St. Francis” ? Are you out of your mind?

40 wins against the dregs of college softball doesn’t equate to “but don’t sleep on St. Francis” against the number one team in the country.

With all due respect.

Texas opened conference play by losing to a team that has a worse RPI than St. Francis. We don’t want to open tournament play with a loss to a team we should comfortably beat, which is why it’s absolutely justifiable to suggest the team needs to stay hungry, focused,  and to not sleep on any opponent. With all due respect.

OK, you two worry about mighty St Francis and our team not being mentally ready for that challenge because we lost a game to Houston 2 months ago.

Wont make a difference in the outcome.

St Francis may go 0-2.   The intent of my post was to indicate they should be respected.

One thing that doesn’t worry me is Mike’s regional record. This team will advance and finally get to host a super for the first time since 2013. And first time under Mike at Texas

So embarrassing that Texas lost their regionals at home under Clake TWICE - as a 7 in 2010 and a 3 in 2011. And then we lost to Mike White at home as a 6 in the supers

Today’s game is at 3. Was originally announced at 4 but got bumped up at some point. Probably to give some cushion with the baseball game at 6:30 for TV

Didn’t realize OKST had Michigan and Kentucky in there regional. Pretty tough

Michigan is always a good team, Kentucky started out hot but got cold as the season came to a close

Good plan. Try to get through Siena with Mac + maybe Sophia, letting Citlaly go in the 1-0 game and then TK for Sunday

Interesting we go back to Goode
