I would settle for a coach that plays to win in national championship games. Is that too much to ask for? Dude wonders why he cant win. The answer is himself. He put Simpson in the series against Clemson and we very well couldve gone home because of that choice. He is an absolute loose cannon if he is put under any amount of pressure and makes completely illogical decisions that have cost this team many times over.

Give me a name?

#1 team entering post season: A&M, coach choked it away in the regionals lol

#2 team OU, only sure thing.

#3 team, Florida, coach didn't pitch his ace in the elimination game and they lost in the quarterfinals

#4 Arkansas lost to unseeded Ole Miss at home

#5 Florida State swept by Tech at home

#6 Texas

So on and so forth. Which of those coaches are you taking?

Only one coach has won a championship the last 4 years. But ours sucks the mostest at not winning them.

I give it a 10% chance of playing tomorrow.  though ESPN would probably want it to be on Friday and not opposite the NBA Finals again, I am assuming.  could reschedule for Sat afternoon though which ESPN would love.

Finals G2 is Sunday.

Also the series isn’t over. Why are there so many entitled fans calling for a coaches head in the finals before the series is even over lol. Put down the bourbon for one night.

nope.  that ump never gave Henry a chance.   he wanted the game to be over and Tech to win.  another payday!

This is true.  He wasn't calling anything that far outside all night on either team.  Henry comes up and the zone expanded 6 inches.

You play to win the game.

To all of the Mike White apologists in here who keep thinking he is a mastermind. Who wouldve started this game if we lost 1-0 in Game 1? I will hang up and listen.

Bet you will not

LOL find one person who has said he coached this game well. That's not the argument. You keep saying he needs to be FIRED if we lose. If you fire him, this program gets worse, guaranteed. There's only one coach in the country that I would confidently say is better than him.

The question is what will you say if Texas hammers Canady in game 3 and Kavan pitches lights out? Thats still very much in play since we will see Canady the 3rd time in 3 days while Kavan is rested.

I think we should have chased the win tonight but the entire strategy tonight was to set up favorable circumstances in game 3. What if those circumstances lead to an easy win?

Tech hasn’t been hitting and we gave them free bases with blunders.  I think people are questioning why we have green players in the game to fuck it up.

I would say that would've happened anyways. These girls can't hit TK.

Gotta give 100% to win any title game or you are a fool.

hes not getting fired nor should he.  that said, this game was there for the taking if he just goes to Kavan in the 5th after he stole 2 innings with Salmon.  on top of that he waits for her to load the bases and give up 2 runs, like it was a March series against Kansas.

He did his team a disservice.  If Kavan comes in and goes 1,2,3 our team is going to be jacked up.  If he is going to pitch 4 pitchers in the biggest series of his career he needs to recruit better.

to bring your closer/best pitcher in AFTER you have given up the lead against a pitcher of Canady's level is just stupid beyond belief.

Here's to hoping Kavan and Co can bail him out one more time.

This sport sucks. With one pitcher, any team can make their way to the championship. It’s too dependent on one player. Imagine if a Cy Young pitcher in MLB could pitch every game. I wish they limited innings pitched by a pitcher so that the overall games would be more interesting.

Pitch counts over the last 2 days

Kavan-109
Canady-195

Pitch counts aren’t too meaningful, but If nothing else, our hitters have seen way more pitches from Canady than Tech has seen from Kavan. Texas has the advantage tomorrow in a lot of ways, but in a winner take all anything can happen

Well except Stanford had this exact pitcher last year and didn’t make it to the final. Also this series isn’t over. But yea let’s change the rules when college softball is peaking in viewership because of a unicorn who hasn’t won shit yet.

There’s a reason 98% of us have this cucklefuck on “ignore”

I’m not talking about just this one pitcher or this series. I’m talking about the game overall. One player has way too much influence on the outcomes of too many games in a season.

We should put QBs on snap counts because the elite ones tend to win a lot of games/ championships

Your inability to see that a QB is nowhere near as influential to the outcome of games as a single women’s softball pitcher doesn’t make you look like the genius you think you look like right now.

Out of this whole thread and all the shitty analysis, you sir win for the worst post.

Do you really think that the game situation doesn’t help dictate who pitches? White did this exact same thing against Tennessee in a non elimination game just a few days ago….AND IT WORKED. If Tech had 5 more games, they would throw Canafy in all of them because they don’t have anyone else capable of getting outs. The fielding cost Texas this game. If you want to blame the coaches for that, so be it. Canady will be tough again tonight, because she is a great player, but I like our chances with a fresher Kavan.

Tampa Bay and Bill Belichick disagree with you

It’s absolutely not the same thing as Tennessee game. If he did the Tennessee game strat perhaps we win this. Mike gambled last night doing the pitcher shuffle and it failed. Should have went for for kill shot instead.

Fuck, I wish we could keep the regular season soldiers to the postseason shit.

Obviously every single fanbase has this issue, but damn, it sucks.

Every postseason team has a bandwagon. It's a good thing when it occurs.

Awful, awful, awful by our supposed stud C.

Get down first, worry about other shit later. Horrible.

My wife (former catcher) lost her shit when that happened. That absolutely cannot happen with a runner on 3rd in the championship series. It shouldn't happen on a random weekday practice but it cannot happen in that moment if you are a D1 catcher.

Pretty piss poor upping there.  Terrible forcing that 3rd strike swing.

Is there any way we can send Arch Manning to the game tonight? I really don’t want to see Mahomes every ten seconds again.

We're going to magically find success against Canady tomorrow because we've seen her already.

But Texas Tech will not also magically find success against Kavan because they've seen her already.

Reese is "due."

But Kavan is not due (to give up ER and take a loss).

Valence Effect is strong here.

Well, Tceh has not seen as much of Kavan as we have of Canady, which I think was White's goal yesterday.

To the extent it matters, TK will be fresher than NC.  I suspect NC will be a bit tired, I also suspect that it won't affect her/us too much because she's a competitor that will find another gear.

The rest is on point.
