Yes - not much movement today and a lot of +par scores on the board. Tomorrow, while cooler but calmer winds, anyone within 6 has a chance (IMO), if they get hot.

I was there as well. He hit a foul ball on one and I thought here we go. But he played a lot of quality shots.

The Centennial Club was hotter than young love. So much for paying for air conditioning.

After the heat/humidity zapped me from Thursday/Friday following Jordan and Rickie Fowler, I didn’t even leave the Valero 18th today. I told my son and his buddies to knock yourselves out! At least it was SA “cool” today. Tomorrow’s high might reach 65. Nothing like going from Swamp Sweat to needing a 1/4 zip for warmth. Shit, it’s like we were in Amarillo for the drastic weather changes we’ve experienced in the last 48.

Pretty good LIV today on FOX*. Rahm, Leishman, Phil, BDC all within a shot of the lead.

Spieth off to a good start too.  If he can’t get into the mix on this track, his “comeback” is way behind schedule.

annnnnd pulls it, then sinks the par putt for "just" a 61.

He has a knack of posting a really low number one day and then shooting two over the next day.

CBS couldn’t ask for much more the last 2 weeks.

No shit.

We need all of these guys back on the same tour.

Always liked JT but when I saw this I became a huge fan.

Might be my 3rd favorite pro behind Rory and BDC.

Scottie just eating Craig Ranch alive. I expect that things will come to a head between he and Rory in one of these majors, and I'm here for it. A final round pairing of those two would be pretty special.

I’m used to my second shot from a drainage ditch too.

Lmao that's an all-time Spieth shot.

It might be #2, I still put his shot at Pebble from the cliff side as #1 Jordan being Jordan shot (for just another ho-hum par)

So what is Scottie’s winning score going to be? -30?

I know it’s only Friday, but who can catch him?

Idk but I like him to win. Not a very good field and no one behind him worth a shit.

My son about an hour ago when Scheffler was -15 asked what the record was for a PGA tournament.

I forgot about Hideki in Hawaii a few months ago (-35).

Scheffler is on pace.

RIP Jim Dent.  He was one of the earliest black golfers on the PGA tour.  He was one of the longest hitters, particularly for the time he played given more recent advances in clubs.  I got to play a practice round with him for the Colonial Pro-AM when I was a junior in high school.  You had to be 18 to play in the actual Pro-AM, so I settled for the practice round.  My cousin, who played in the Indians minor league system, made it possible for me to join him, Mr. Dent and Duane Kuiper.  Jim Dent was very kind to me that day, and hoo boy, he drove the ball a country mile.

I played the Plantation Course on my honeymoon last May. Shot a 92 lol.
Needless to say, the Bay Course was a lot friendlier to me two days later.

Plantation was amazing. Bucket list item for any golfer.

We need some more Scottie/Rory duels. Only time they've really gone at it was the '23 Tour championship that Scottie blew.

They're the two best players in the world and 3rd isn't even fucking close (sorry, X. And Bryson. Lol).

The next motherfucker who yells “bababooey” when a tee shot is hit should be taken out back and summarily executed.

That why I don’t go to tournaments. I’d end up needing bail money.

The one tourney I've been to I got to see Rory and Tiger play against each other which - looking back - is kind of fucking crazy.

The gentry at ACC was pretty tame although my mom got a kick out of some drunk bro making fun of Heinrik Stenson and his "svedium" shirts.
