Does this new deal do anything about Singleton’s option situation? That was a real problem when he was here.

He didn’t get any more options or anything but he’s ok with being stashed in the minors unless and until we call him up.

This.

If he were to get called up, he’d have to stay called up or be exposed to waivers to be sent back down and if no one claimed him, would have to agree to go back to the minors (think Montero or Abreu last year) or elect free agency.

the idea (albeit remote) that Singleton could replace an Astros overpriced FA 1B signing two year in a row is pretty funny though

Anyone else find it ironic that it was God’s plan that singleton was replaced by a Christian?

I've become convinced we'll be giving Singleton huge ph ABs in the playoffs until 2035.

Excellent usage of Shay

The Astros reinstated outfielder Taylor Trammell from the IL onto their active roster and optioned Shay Whitcomb to Triple-A. Trammell was rehabbing from a calf injury sustained in spring training.

Trammell is left handed, both won and lost the World Series last year, and has a career .633 OPS.  It's like the trade deadline of our dreams came early this year.

he's gone in two years. 2028 ufa ...

Amid a resurgent season that is placing him among the sport’s elite, Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña has hired agent Scott Boras to represent him, a league source told The Athletic on Monday.

According to Baseball-Reference, only Aaron Judge entered Monday with more wins above replacement than Peña, who has propelled the injury-ravaged Astros into a five-game lead atop the American League West.

Tucker going into his walk year.

Ok. Misunderstood 3putts post. Thought it meant UFS for the 2028 season, eg after 2027…. which did seem awfully quick

No to Niesen leaving the Astros or no to his staying through the draft?
