I know this has been touched on in the travel tips mega thread, but I think enough people use this card to have a dedicated thread for the upcoming changes. New annual fee is $795 + $195 for an AU, starting with card anniversary. New benefits go into effect 10/26/25.

Here is a breakdown taken from another site:

POINTS EARNING

  • 8x points on all travel booked through Chase

  • 4x points on all other flights and hotels booked directly with airline or hotel

  • 3x points on dining at restaurants

  • 1x points on everything else

BENEFITS

  • $300 travel credit

  • $250 x 2 yearly credit for The Edit hotels booked through Chase

  • $150 x 2 dining credit through Sapphire Reserve exclusive tables via OpenTable

  • $250 Apple TV and Apple Music Credit

  • $150 x 2 Stubhub credits

  • $120 Peloton (12x$10)

  • $120 Lyft credit (12x$10)

  • $420 Doordash (Dashpass + 12x($5+$10+$10)

  • IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite Status

  • 2x redemption rate for points at The Edit hotels and Premium cabin airfare

  • Priority Pass + Air Canada Maple leaf lounge (when traveling on star alliance)

  • Global Entry fee credit

  • Other benefits like car rental coverage and trip delay appear to stay the same

AFTER $75,000 SPEND

  • IHG Diamond Elite Status

  • $500 Southwest Credit via Chase Travel

  • A-list Status with Southwest

  • $250 Shops at Chase credit

Also, the 1.5x point redemption through the Chase portal is going away. It's getting replaced by a 2x Points Boost on some bookings, but I assume those will be very limited offerings and I'm not aware of a way to preview how that will actually look. So that seems like a net negative.

I have my wife as an AU (I know, not recommended by people who churn cards, but it's convenient) so my new annual fee is basically $1,000, or let's say $700 after the immediate travel credit. I use Apple TV+ so there's another $120 in useful credits, so now I just need $580 in actual value each year.

  • I don't use Apple Music or Peloton and my Global Entry isn't due for 2-3 years, so those are all useless.
  • I do use Stubhub 2-3 times a year so it seem like I can easily redeem the 2 x $150 credits, assuming no strings attached to that.
  • The exclusive dining tables I think is new? so I registered my Opentable account and it looks like there aren't a ton of options in DFW. I guess I could do it but I would be going out of my way to eat somewhere I wouldn't otherwise pick.
  • I occasionally book hotels through Chase that are listed as The Edit and I usually get a minor perk at the hotel, but the $250 statement credit would be nice. My understanding is you need to stay 2 nights to qualify, but I usually do that.
  • I'm not a big Door Dasher and I think those credits are fairly restricted, so kinda worthless to me.
  • I use Uber occasionally, Lyft hardly ever, but it would be an easy switch when I need it.
  • I would likely qualify for the $75,000 annual spend, so the $500 SWA credit seems like a major perk and the $250 Shops at Chase credit could be useful for something?

Curious everyone's thoughts on these changes and the value of the card in its new form. I'm sure a lot of people will downgrade to the CSP or one of the free cards, but I get the feeling the CSR is still a good option even at the higher price point.

If the hotel credit and The Edit credits are stackable, that might be enough with the stubhub credit to make it worth my while. Not really much else there that would benefit me - just a lot of nickle and dime stuff.

8x points on all travel booked through Chase: Chase doesn't always give you the best pricing, but 8x points would most likely make up the difference.
$250 x 2 yearly credit for The Edit hotels booked through Chase: These are all luxury hotels I won't be booking with
$150 x 2 dining credit through Sapphire Reserve exclusive tables via OpenTable: Select restaurants I doubt I will be dining in
Priority Pass + Air Canada Maple leaf lounge (when traveling on star alliance). Priority pass pretty much sucks these days

I would use the $300 travel credit and most likely Peloton and Lyft credits, but nothing else. So that's $540 total credits.. I think I'm going to downgrade after I renew my Global Entry next month.

Will try it out for one year with the new fee/perks and reassess. Seems unlikely I’ll really be able to take advantage of all their perks.

Guess I might buy a bunch of shit I don't need on Apple music. Already get TV+ through T-Mobile.

Generally have been using Lyft for the 10x points and the month credits have been usable. Not a door dash person.

Good list of restaurants here in Houston. Street to kitchen is a great add.

Priority pass does suck. Only usable in lightly travelled airports like Oakland. Houston lounges suck and are inaccessible. They got rid of the chase lounge in Austin as well. Chase lounge at IAD and Maple Leaf Lounge at SFO are really nice though. But those aren't my home airports.

I don’t even bother with Priority Pass lounges in the U.S. anymore. The one in DFW is tiny with mediocre food and drinks and long waits. The couple of times I’ve used an international PP lounge has been a much better experience.

DFW is getting a Chase Sapphire lounge soon, so that might be a nice option if the waits aren’t terrible. Wait times seem to be ruining most lounges.

Do you get cash back with this card? If you don't, that needs to figure into the annual cost. My personal inclination on these cards, is that I don't want to deal with having to keep up with the benefits to make good use out of them. I'd rather think about something else, so I just get a decent cash back card, then spend that on whatever perks that card has, or something I actually want more. And maybe that benefit carrot hanging in front of you makes you pick a restaurant, hotel, or something else that isn't really what you want, just so you can claim a credit. To me, worrying about whether you get enough $ back is a waste of time. The plan is probably designed to lure you into spending too much anyways, which makes it even less of a 'deal'.

So I'd only care about the non-financial benefits, and decide if those were worth the fee.

You get points which IIRC are convertible to cash somehow. But the main this is that the points stack with the other Chase cards. So you get 5X points at Chase freedom/flex bonus categories each quarter and you get 1.5X points from Chase freedom unlimited on all purchases (with some categories getting higher points). You would then use the Chase Sapphire reserve and the other Sapphire card because you got better redemption rates using those two cards than the two freedom cards (1.5x bonus using Chase's portal).
