That doesn't mean that anyone has to compromise. As in many sports contract negotiations, the player's value is a matter of some speculation and, likely due to agents, players seem to often overplay their hand. Then again, there always seems to be some greater fool willing to come close to their price.

We lost game because of that decision. But yes, watching Baxter run into the back of the line all year was frustrating. Now watch James Simon turn out to be a dog. Par for the course.

It is just a different skill set. He is elite when he has the ball in space, which is why he plays and gets a lot of targets. No one else on the team is turning a wide receiver screen into a 70+ yard touchdown. And he is getting better at the other parts of being a receiver. He is miles better this season than last. If he seems a similar jump next season, he will legit be one of the best receivers in college. But even if not, he is a great #2 with an elite skill set that can't be easily replicated. Nothing that Livingstone does can't be replaced with any number of D1 receivers.

Just a guess. There's only so many balls to go around. Even if you wanted to money whip all of them into staying, a room full of talented receivers who aren't getting any snaps won't turn out well. PL has done enough this year to be a starter somewhere, I don't blame him for wanting to go that route if the coaches are telling him he's ~6 on the depth chart at Texas (which is about where he'd be if we get a WR1 in the portal and Wingo comes back).

What I saw was a guy who couldn't win against physical defense, falling with the slightest contact, dropping balls, and tripping on his own feet. 3 hours ago3 hr Since it's the offseason, here's an overly simplistic breakdown of how I would split up the money for players.I remember Kurt Bohls quoted the number 35-40 million for the roster. You know if Kurt says it, you can take it to the bank.I did a quick scan of the roster and these are the positional numbers not listed as practice squad. There are a couple preferred walk ons in these numbers.Let's say it's $37M. Give $1M to the specialists and that leaves $36M for the other position groups.QB-4 $6M. Positional importance speaks for itself. RB-6 $2M. This number seems low, especially given that marquee skill players will command money, but it's been shown to be less important than other position groups.WR-10 $4M. You need playmakers outside. I suspect the top 4-5 on the roster would eat up most of the total. Then get some lunchpail guys that will later portal out when they don't get raises.TE-6 $2M. This should be plenty.OL-15 $6M This should be spread pretty evenly outside of the elite OTsDL-18 $6M Same as OL, just switch out OTs for EdGeSLB-8 $4M DB-18 $6M Skew the payouts more to elite corners.Specialists-6 $1M. It'll probably take less than this for the whole unit, but must spend some money on good kicker.I did this because I was bored, but also to point out that there probably is room for a $800k #3 receiver. It seems to me that they think they can do better with the resources at that spot. 1 hour ago, Thatguy said:One day you will see what's going on here. You're not the boss of me.
