I always thought his injury would hurt more in the playoffs than the regular season, but i think a lot of people underestimate how much Jalen Green sucked on offense by trying to be the focal point over Sengun, Smith, and Thompson.

No no no, I have it on good authority that he's too short and will never amount to anything in the league. Don't get your hopes up, these analysts watch a lot of games and post on message boards that cost $9.95 a month.

Thank you, KD!

$15m/season discount so we can actually pay for players around him.  Unheard of in this day and age - didn’t demand the max

With the KD signing, the cap is looking tight next year, but the main guys are under contract. Keeping Tari for his QO next year may be the only way to stay under the first apron, because an extension will likely be around 20-25m a year + the other contracts to finish the roster.  Otherwise they may have to trade someone to shed salary. Will be interesting to see, but that 45m number for KD is fairly important, because he was eligible for nearly 60m a year.

If Sheppard shows anything this season, you are trading Van Vleet as soon as possible. No way you can carry nearly $40M between those two guys on the roster.

Ok KD is done. What does a Tari extension look like?

the deadline is 5:00pm today so we'll know soon (if they reach an agreement).

One has to think they have a good idea what it will take and used that info to help determine Durant’s extension.

Yikes. Gotta be Stone’s first misstep in recent memory.

These RFA deals are rarely team friendly.

Not necessarily a Stone misstep. It takes 2 to tango.

Eason is a no go, per twitter tweets

back to the bench with you!  Reed starts to push Eason value down.j/k

Buttt...... Eason is playing with fire; his injury track record makes it a dangerous self bet, and smart of the FO to not lock themselves into the first apron before playing a game this season.

I love Eason, but he has done nothing to earn a contract in the neighborhood of Jabari's yet.

I’m curious what the offer was. Eason for sure would have rejected $15 million a year.

His QO next year will be like 8-9m for 1 year, which as I mentioned above, may be a necessity to keep him and avoid the 1st apron.  An extension of 4 for $80m would be more than twice that for next year, and may not be feasible for the future of the team.  He also needs to prove himself a bit more. Next year is the time for that extension, otherwise that QO will be his last year with the team, which isn't the worst thing in the world.

The silver lining in no Eaton extension is that the team should get his best in what is essentially a prove-it season.

he's not a starter here

roster fit issues for sure

I’m hesitant to go down that road. All of the National podcasters LOVE Tari and are thirsty for the Rockets to trade them to their favorite team. Usually the Celtics or Knicks.

Trade for the White Buffalo?

Damn imagine being the Sandy creek coach and players and getting that squad rolling into your gym that day. Bad ass. That’s a team right there. Damn I’m excited for the season.
