My admittedly reactionary thoughts after this game:

- Reed needs to come off the bench. With him in the starting lineup with Alpi/Jabari/KD/Amen there is someone who's not getting the ball enough and it messes up the flow of our offense. Let him lead the 2nd unit at PG and if he's playing well, let him play in crunch time too.

- Amen cannot be bringing the ball up late in a game when trailing. His instincts to find the open man are not great and he just kinda spazzes in those situations if he's not trying to score.

- We definitely missed Steven Adams, Jazz have some size and his absence hurt.

- Off night from KD. Bummer.

- Utah played with their hair on fire. Hat tip, shit happens.

They’re going to lose every game where they give up 130. Adams being out and the Jazz going full on Villanova- Georgetown didn’t help, but the team defense wasn’t there last night.

I think they have to stick with Reed in the starting lineup during this might portion of their schedule. They don’t play another good team until December 20th.

Where do y’all think Bailey goes in a 2025 redraft?

I don't think he would fall that much yet. Top 4 would still all go above him. Queen would 100% go above him. Fears, Tre, Coward and Bailey would be #6-#9 in some order.

I’d think hard about at him at 2.

You would take Bailey 2nd overall? Zero chance.

He has a nice frame and potential but Flagg, Harper and Kon are in a totally different class. Queen looks fucking awesome. Edgecombe has cooled off but looks like he will be a 10-12 year starter or rotation guy. Fears has been great. Coward looks great but is a little older.

I'd still take Tre over him because of the character and work-ethic and being an assassin from 3 but I could see that either way.

Probably recent bias given they just played the Rockets twice, but I think he has some Durant elements to his game. Really smooth and a nice shot.

Starters haven’t been aboe to integrate Reed very well compared to him coming off the bench firing.

his spot is off the bench

Currently I agree, but I don’t think 6th man is his ceiling. He and Amen struggle together sometimes, they both have some glaring weaknesses (defense/shooting) that are harder to hide when combined.

Yeah, Ime doesn’t seem to want to play them together given his early rotations.

First Rockets game in 20 years tonight.  Sat behind Kings bench.  Schroeder is a funny dude.  He looks 16 up close.  Kings back row coaches were cool and were making fun of Raynaud because even though he has a career night on offense, Adams and Sengun just cooked him on the other end.  They like that dude though.  Russ seems like a good teammate all things considered - was helping Nique and Raynaud all night.   Keegan Murray is a robot.  No emotion.  Doug McDermott and Saric are living the life.  They knew they weren’t playing tonight and just had a good time dapping teammates and watching the baby races and other time out shows.  I need that gig.

Russ is hilariously a bright spot for that dumpster fire of an org.

Not sure what that means. Nothing wrong with being a 6th man on a really good team that closes games. I have to squint pretty hard still to see him as a starting 1 or 2 on a Finals team.

Do the Rockets slide into CP's dms?

They can’t release him until 12/15 right? I was expecting a longer runway for Reed and Holliday extending into February.

My short answer is, I’m not sure if the organization is ready to make a decision yet.

There is no way you bring in Paul. He's an asshole that believes his way is the only way, and on top of it, he's not good anymore. I would be interested in Westbrook, because he can still play and loves to play basketball. The only problem I see with him and it's huge, would he be happy with the scraps left on usage to win a ring. He'd likely be the 4th option in the starting lineup behind Sengun, Durant, and Thompson, but damn adding his production and ball handling would be huge. Shit, he's making .371 BTA on 5.3 attempts this season.

Tate's salary matches, throw in a couple of 2nds and make it happen. Then sign Tate back when the Kings cut him.

this is fucking awesome for someone who has to resort to online streams for non-nationally televised games.  i'll gladly pay $20/month for the next 4 months to watch the Rockets.

More expensive than League Pass right? I’m happy for the Rockets diaspora.

Well it's also for the Astros, and if I swtich back to YTTV, then I will gladly pay for both, as it means 100% of the money goes to the Astros/Rockets bottom line.

People outside of those locations already can use NBA League Pass and MLB.TV though I guess it would be a problem if you were only traveling temporarily.

Up to 30 days "away from home" per year, apparently.
