Not often in the NBA that all the starters sit the entire 4th quarter. Pels are not good.

Yeah they’re really bad. Was a gummies and chill game for us. Cheerleaders were in Halloween costumes so that was nice.

Topic is undergoing chemo for testicular cancer? Goddamn. Get better, kid. Kick its ass.

Horrible luck since entering the league - ACL and now his balls

But Nene played for over a decade after he dealt with it

That dude can't get a break. Gets injured right before the draft, costing him who knows how many draft slots and dollars plus a missed rookie season. And now testicular cancer. At least the rookie deal is guaranteed. Good luck to the guy.

Sad to hear, hope he gets well soon. Dude might have 2 rings before he even plays 1 game for the Thunder.

The novelty has worn off for me anyway.   Last night was brutal and back to same old wack takes.

Same here. I do like the music tho. They tried shaqtin a fool the other day but didn’t have any music…it was terrible

Really isn’t much to talk about for them this early in the season outside of injuries now that opening week is over with. Playoffs and positioning doesn’t heat up until after all star break

Yeah, it’s Willie’s fault.

Watching them against the Nuggets, they act like they don't even want to be there.  They're just a terrible team right now.

Question for the masses, as I am biased af and cannot answer objectively as a Celtics fan:  Is Joel Embiid a Hall of Famer?

Never played anywhere close to 82 games, and only 65+ 2x.  Even in the 20-21 Covid season he only played 51/72.  Ignoring his 1st 2 seasons w/ no games played and this current season, he's only played in 62% of the regular season for his career.  If you need to play in ~80% of games today to get an award, how do you justify the HOF for someone who played so little? (I'm aware it's not an NBA award)

Never so much as played in the Conf Finals, much less an NBA Finals.  As far as I can tell, the only 2 players in the HOF that didn't play in a Conf Finals are Bernard King and Drazen Petrovic.

Conversely, he does have an MVP trophy, was All NBA 1x, and the Basketball HOF is much more like the Hall of Pretty Good.

It's a great question. Basketball Reference has his HOF probability at 66.2%, right between Artis Gilmore and Nate Thurmond who are both in.

I don't see how you leave off a guy who won an MVP and finished second in MVP voting two other times, led the league in scoring twice, was a 6 time all star, and had three 2nd team all defensive awards. Bill Walton is the obvous comparison, but Walton won two rings. I think Embiid needs to get involved in some sort of modern day Patty Hearst sheanigans to lock up his enshrinement.

Are there any other MVPs not in the HOF (I don't know, I'm asking)?

Every eligible former MVP has been inducted to the HoF.

Embiid is an interesting case though.

But not as interesting as Derrick Rose.

Embiid will probably get in, but Rose?  No way.

Well, there's your answer whether we think he deserves it or not (I would lean towards no).

I'm pretty sure there arent any MVP's that arent in the HOF.   I wouldnt consider him a HOF level player but he will get in.   The Basketball HOF is prolly the easiest to get into.   And neither Grant Hill nor TMac played in a Conference Finals.   I'm betting there are others too.

Their roster is a fucking mess. Zero leadership or synergy.

They might be doing Willie a favor. I actually think he's a pretty damn good coach.

And Embiid is absolutely getting in the Hall. The basketball HOF is kind of a joke.

Josh Giddy is quietly putting up some numbers this season for the bulls. went for 32/10/9 tonight to bring up his season averages up to 22/8.8/8. Its early still, but thats a big jump. Bulls at 5-0 after beating the knicks tonight.
