Who could forget LSU who lost two games in the vaunted SEC and got in and won the title (back in 2007). One to Kentucky and one to Arkansas.

tim tebow lost more games in one season than VY did in his career, and that’s not even accounting for urban meyer vs mack brown and how they impact their teams. 2007 florida lost at home to jevan snead and ole miss and still won the MNC while Texas sat at home for the *league* title game because of the TTU loss. we finally join that league and suddenly we get crushed in year one for having a weak schedule and crushed in year two for not winning by enough. weird how that works.

See... if we had gone for a touchdown instead of kicking the field goal at the end of the half v. Ark., the committee would put us in.  "Texas has killer instinct!!"

Surly gonna surly. haha

I can't stand him, but Booger McFarland brought up Kentucky and MSU in his analysis as well when discussing Texas year long performance. Fans here argue about the "entire" body of work, but seem to want to gloss over our struggles against every. Single. Team. without a pig, schooner or bearcat mascot. Hell UTEP is 2-10, ahead of only SHSU in conference USA and we beat them by 17 fucking points at home.

Then he should also bring up that many of the playoff teams struggled with lower competition. Not to mention that our QB couldn't quite grasp the art of the forward pass until about halfway through the Miss State game. Do we think the same team that struggled against Kentucky/Florida/whomever would've beaten aggy? No way. Our OL has been much more solid since the lineup change and Arch is playing at a high level now (or at least not throwing dirt balls every pass).

Booger is a moron.  For the Kentucky/MSU game, then counter that with double digit wins against OU and aggy.   Mateer has stated his injury was not related to his performance in that game (credit to him) but some of the talking heads think he doesn't know shit about himself.  So that is two double digit wins against locks for the playoffs.   Playing sloppy early, and using a different offensive scheme early in the season doesn't mean shit.  I seem to recall a tOSU team that had a ton of close games vs mediocre teams and still won the MNC.

These dipshits either have no memory or no reasoning ability.

Unless that exact same offensive scheme was used in the 1st half against aggie. Which it was.

You don't get to pick and choose which games of the season you do and don't want as part of the entire body of work. Yes, Booger is a moron, but you're the one who appears to have memory retention issues.

So turn very bowl game into a playoff game. 80 teams or how many teams there are.

no more OOC. develop formula of how well a team performs for 60 minutes, W's and losses matter, winning by 35 is better than winning by 7, if you lose by 7 vs a top team is better than winning by 7 in OT vs a bottom team. or whatever.

ND ahead of us is a joke.  They lost to aggy who we beat by double digits. They beat mediocre USC at home and an over rated Pitt team.

Maybe the CFP decides to avoid the Miami/ND controversy they just put Texas ahead of all them at #10 instead, put Miami at #11, and ND at #12. A man can dream.

we're not in the playoff.  book it.

hopefully the latest coaches poll demonstrates the amount of HATE and ENVY the country has for TEXAS.   that hate intensified once we joined the secsecsec.

so guess what?  fuck everyone.  they hate us.  we SHOULD hate them. everyone believes we're the EVIL EMPIRE. so you know what?  EMBRACE THAT SHIT.  Fuck yea!  Fuck all these envious bitches.  we bitchslapped our rivals this year.  so keep that up.  on top of that, fuck up everyone else going forward--starting with that fatass fart smeller kirby.

ya'll wanted this sesesec shit.  now time to play ball.  fuck the old Texas "classy" way.  aint got time for that shit.  better come to grips with that NOW.

mack did his politic'n to get us in the rose bowl over cal.

we got the benefit of the doubt over fsu to make the 4-team play off.

NOW quit acting like little bitches with all the what ifs.  fuck that noise.

WE ARE THE EVIL EMPIRE.  KNOW IT. BE ABOUT IT. FUCK SHIT UP, YO.

oh and fuck our little brother (not literally)

all-time, eternal bitches--we own you.

The coaches poll indicates that they don't wish to play us in the playoffs. This illustrates the perverse incentives and bad faith arguments by fans and coaches alike. The playoff committee would love to put us in for TV/Ad dollars but fears controversy more.

a&m, ou, and vandy all ahead of us, and not one of them would be in the picture at all had they played tOSU week 1 like we did. this is so stupid. anyone pretending like we aren’t being directly punished for scheduling tOSU (and playing them closer than anyone else) is a liar.

As an unbiased observer, Texas has a strong argument, but you also have the worst loss AND needed overtime two weeks in a row to skate by the absolute bottom of your league.

all sec wins are worth three big 12 wins, haven’t you heard?

in all seriousness we have one bad loss and that came months ago, before this team looked anything like it does today. since that loss we’ve only lost at UGA with wins vs three teams currently ranked ahead of us. the one and only reason we are behind those teams is losing to tOSU back in august. that’s why the Tecas team of today is out- a loss back in August to the best team in america while a&m, ou, and vandy were playing UTSA, illinois state, and charleston southern.

this is how you know the loss column means everything.  we only move 2 spots up after beating up the #3 team handily but when we beat Vandy we moved up 10 spots.

Correct because the only thing that matters to anyone is the loss fucking column. Cancel the game next year with Ohio State, replace it with Duke and let's move on from this BS.

The reality is we do not have a schedule consistent with a team trying to build a resume for the playoffs. Unlike basketball, you are penalized far more for a loss than rewarded for a win. It’s our own fault from this point forward if we do not schedule accordingly. Texas should cancel the Ohio State game and we should have one FCS scrimmage on our schedule every year.

If we hold our noses up and say “We’re Texas we are not doing that!” then we should not bitch about missing the playoffs. There is no sense and playing a different game than our competition is so we can chase money.

Has OU improved since we beat them? Not really, Mateer may be 15% healthier, but they most recently escaped against a 3-5 SECSEC team, with Mateer throwing 3 picks. Has Bama improved? Not really, after struggling against a 1-SEC win team. Those are closer to regressions than improvements. No one in the CFP would want to play Texas as we're playing now (and once Ant Hill is healthy again), save for maybe UGA, since Kirby seems to own Sark.
