Lawson Luckie is in concussion protocol but it sounds like they expect him back anyway. Elyiss Williams is a true freshman that is coming on and will be the next big thing at TE for Georgia. Generally speaking, it doesn't matter which one you were referencing, they're both really good to go along with Delp. I have faith in Texas' LBs to cover their TEs and backs from an athleticism perspective, but not from a scheme perspective. Whatever criticisms of Mike Bobo people want to offer, and many are justified, the guy knows how to get his TEs and backs open.

Georgia also has an annoying white guy 3rd down back, named Cash Jones, I think, and he's someone that Texas is likely to magically let open just when we need a stop. I feel like Georgia always has a guy like this.

The one thing about the Georgia offense is they do not really force anything (except some short passes to Branch). #2 receiver (Young) has 23 and # 10 (Bowens) has 10. They will spread it around to the open man. That said Texas has given up the following to the TE position the last 3 weeks:

UK: 7 for 69

MSU: 7 for 73

Vandy: 8 for 169

That is 22 catches for 311 yards. 7.33 catches and 103.67 yards per game. I am pretty sure Bobo will make this part of the game plan, since he has a lot of talent there.

They’re going to get a team in regardless if they suck.

that’s what

No shit?  Really?  Well that fucking changes everything.  This is completely and totally news to literally nobody. Thanks for the bandwidth drain.

Refs didn't help at all. That's BS. In the Auburn game, the SEC reviewed 11 calls, 9 were inaccurate and 4 went against UGA. It wasn't as one sided as our haters try to make it.

Except you know, the biggest call of the game that ended up being a 14 point swing when Auburn was fixing to go into the half up 21. Yeah- didn’t have any real affect on the game. Or the Florida bomb that would have put them in FG range to tie or TD to win. Other than that, yeah, Kirby ain’t getting no help from the refs.

We don't have the luxury of protecting Arch in this game. We need him out of the pocket, rolling out, and keeping the defense honest. He will need to move the chains consistently with his feet, and he's gonna get popped multiple times. Dude is gonna have to carry the offense for us to have a chance to win. We have seen the blueprint in the last 6 quarters.

But those were the correct calls. As confirmed by review and most neutral parties who watched. We had a questionable review go against us Sat, but that didn't completely ruin the game for us.

Tuesday - Bobby

Bobby doubling down on his 10-2 regular season prediction, I guess. I'm surprised he's picking Texas, given how realistic/pessimistic he can be. Granted, his analysis was basically presented as, "here are all the reasons UGA should win. Yet, I have this feeling...," so not that confidence inspiring.

I keep thinking about a path to victory for Texas against Georgia.

And I think it’s a relatively slim one. Slim enough for me to think it’s unlikely to happen. With Texas nearly six-point underdogs, Las Vegas seemingly confirms my suspicions.

So why do I feel this way?

Since their Alabama loss, this Georgia team appears to be on a mission. Sure, it’s a similar one to Texas.

Win or leave your fate in the hands of another.

Yet Georgia seems to have been more focused and more consistent for longer. And the Bulldogs have not once shown the outright ineptitude that a Texas team did against a Kentucky or UTEP.

They even overcame five straight Ole Miss touchdowns to eventually outscore the Rebels a few weeks ago. That’s a level of consistency and fight which champions are made of.

I realize Georgia lost to Alabama. But I think Georgia, not Alabama and not Texas A&M, is the best, most well-rounded team in the SEC.

That’s what Texas is up against on Saturday.

Yet somewhere in the back of my mind, I still feel like Texas is starting to gel as a team.

The offense is finding itself. The group of four receivers and multiple tight ends are finally finding their rhythm. Tre Wisner and the OL are helping in pass protection. The defense, one of the best in the country, is regularly affecting the QB during conference play like we thought they would in the preseason.

The ball needs to bounce Texas’ way on Saturday. But I think there’s a path to victory.

So long as Texas mitigates the Georgia power run game and makes the Georgia passing game beat them, there’s a chance.

And I’ll take that chance.

Fuck out of here with that bullshit. Kirby is a massive fucking douche and he’s been getting all the calls for about 4 years now. He can get fucked and the SEC conference referring is probably as corrupt as any I’ve ever seen for about 25 years running now. That’s when I had no dog in the fight. It’s marginally better for us than the big 12 little dick syndrome fuckery bc the SEC generally circles the wagons to protect their brands and Texas will be one while the big 12 went out of the way to penis envy fuck us, but you are delusional and probably as big a douche as Kirby.

Texas With Eyes Set on Continuing 2025 Campaign, Leaving 2024 Behind

***

If there was one message echoing through the Texas football facility on Monday, it was this — no talk of revenge, no backward glances at 2024. The Longhorns aren’t chasing losses of Longhorns' past.

Rather than rehashing the two games against Georgia from last season, every word and every tone from Monday’s media availabilities carried a single theme: focus. The kind that sharpens when a team knows what’s still in front of it.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian set the tone early. Since the conference-opening loss to Florida, Sarkisian’s message to his team has been steady and simple.

“Since we lost to Florida, the first bullet point when I talk to the team about what it takes is this is an SEC championship game,” Sarkisian said. “That went back now for the last month. This week’s no different. I just want to win Saturday night at 7:30 and try to get to 5-1 in conference play. That’s really the extent of it.”

Now, back inside the AP Top 10, the Longhorns aren’t spending time admiring the view, they’re focused on staying there. To do that, Sarkisian knows the path forward runs through Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs.

And while Texas fans may crave revenge for last season’s losses, Sarkisian and his staff are thinking more strategically than emotionally.

“Try to put your players in the best position to be successful,” Sarkisian explained. “You can draw plays on a whiteboard that look great, but matchups matter. You’re always trying to find favorable matchups.”

One of those key matchups could come from Ryan Wingo, who was back at practice and “looked great,” according to defensive back Michael Taaffe. Wingo, who suffered a thumb injury against Vanderbilt has 273 receiving yards on seven catches over the last two contests.

Meanwhile, Georgia has regained its rhythm after an early stumble, stringing together five straight SEC wins since its September loss to Alabama. The Bulldogs’ consistency has been the gold standard in the conference, a fact Sarkisian readily acknowledged.

“Their level of consistency has been pretty high for the last decade, credit to those guys,” Sarkisian said. “I don’t know what constitutes a dynasty or not, but these guys have played four straight SEC championship games and are trying for five. That’s pretty good, especially when a lot of teams and coaches in our conference haven’t played for any.”

For Texas, Saturday night represents more than a marquee matchup, it’s another step toward proving that last season’s lessons have built this year’s resolve. The Longhorns are not talking about revenge. They’re talking about opportunity.

And if they handle business under the lights this weekend, not only will those SEC title hopes remain alive, but the College Football Playoff resume adds another major bullet point for the committee to consider.

So basically like everyone else on this board.

We are not a good football team. Georgia may not be as good as last year, but they are head and shoulders above us where it counts. We absolutely wasted last year, could have won the SEC if Sark wasn’t such a dumb cunt.

You mean of those who are picking Texas to win? Because there have been many posters here, myself included, who are skeptical about Texas' chances this weekend.

We haven't gotten many calls considering our recent success. Alabama still gets every call there is. I recall Texas getting a few calls last year against us, a thought that was reinforced later when we found out the head official was from Texas and had a son who was a UT alum.

Stupid opinion, we have solid wins and played #1 to the wire. So fuck outta here with that.

Secondly, I dont give a shit about the SEC title, only the national title.

Are you talking about when they had to overrule the godawful pass interference call in Austin or when Texas was called for 10 penalties at halftime to Georgia's 0 in the SEC title game. I will hang up and listen.
