Probably why the Hunt's are trying to pull this shit.  They know their little run of dominance is quickly coming to a close.  What do you need if you aren't a big market team and your team is ass?  Well, a shiny new stadium, of course!  This allows you to rent it out for concerts, other sports, etc.

It's why Arthur Blank with the Falcons doesn't really give a shit about the team winning.  The Mercedes-Benz Butthole brings in a crazy amount of money for him.  Oh, and he doesn't have to pay any property tax on it!

Jerry Jones loves to take in proceeds from Parking and Concessions for all events at AT&T stadium. He's friends with the NY people who do the same at MetLife Stadium.

I mean, you “can’t” out-politic Chicago and Illinois. Good luck to them though.

A good site is on the SE side where the former steel mills were in the lakefront. Counterpoint, Chernobyl-light contamination.

Last I heard, The Bears were planning on building at the old horse racing track site outside of Chicago.

These aren't anything, they were with the original "we're interested" presentation ks had a year or two ago. An architect hasn't even been chosen yet.

My first thought is that this should be sponsored by Tupperware. That thing looks like a plastic mess

Some renderings

A rendering of a domed Chiefs stadium situated in an oval shaped parking lot, surrounded lines of trees.

A rendering of a Chiefs football field packed with fans in red and white.

At least there's parking, unlike the Fort Wayne Chicago Bears rendering.

I do remember there being cold related deaths several years ago from a very cold Bills-Chiefs game. I also think was Fentanyl involved.

Kinda looks like a vagina with the stadium as the clit.

Now that’s on shaky ground. The state of Illinois won’t play so they are trying to force their hand in proposing an Indiana site.

As a lifelong chiefs fan and growing up in KC, it’s sad to think that arrowhead won’t be there. It’s an iconic place, not only the stadium but also, weirdly the parking lot. People have been parking in the same spots for decades and it gets passed down generations. Tailgating there will be something i will miss and the “chiefs” shaking the stands at the end of the anthem. Whoever designed the stadium made one of the most deafening stadiums I have watched a game at. Yes KC is where all of the growth is happening and it all makes sense based on how the city is developing. That whole area that is, pretty incredible around the race track so it’s not surprising. I know the hunts and many people around Kc have wanted a superbowl but the nfl said we aren’t going to be in contention ever so have to upgrade, build a dome, one up the previous stadium, and hope it can bring back memories of arrowhead. I’m not sure why they aren’t taking the general look of arrowhead, throw a dome on it and build the inside nice but if it’s just a nicer superdome or sofi, I think many will be disappointed. I doubt it would ever happen but there’s a weird divide with some people in Missouri and Kansas, I bet someone will try to bring a team back to STL, other cities will come first but with arrowhead moving, I can see a push for a team. Hopefully it has grass/turf that isn’t tearing acls by the week also. That’d be a priority. Go chiefs

College Football Deal With It GIF by Arkansas Razorbacks

lolololol ....

After reading through the 33-page term sheet for the Chiefs' new stadium in Kansas, I think it's one of the most lopsided stadium deals in NFL history.

Kansas is essentially giving the Chiefs $3 billion (stadium funding + mixed-use development funding + tax incentives), yet getting virtually nothing in return.

The Chiefs get to keep 100% of the revenue from all stadium activities, including ticket sales, concessions, sponsorships, naming rights deals, personal seat licenses, and more. That applies to NFL games and all other events (concerts, basketball games, etc.).

Kansas will own the stadium, with the Chiefs paying $7 million in rent annually. But that money doesn't go back to the state; it goes into an account the Chiefs can use for renovations, repairs, and operational expenses.

That means the Chiefs can use their own rent money to hire stadium security, parking staff, and concession vendors throughout the season.

I know Kansas had to offer a great deal to get the Chiefs to leave Arrowhead, but this is worse than I expected.

Don't forget Mile High is going away too

Because indoor stadium = concerts, CFP games, NCAA final four games, etc.

What?!?

Just like The Dread Pirate Roberts

The current Mile High Stadium isn’t even the original Mile High Stadium.

The new Mile High Stadium is probably some Spanish stadium that lost its father at the hands of a six-fingered man.

I think AB cares about winning. I also think he's too loyal to Rich McKay who I don't know what he cares about other than staying employed.

I agree that no city or state should pay for stadiums to be built for billionaires.
