got a feeling ND pulls off the upset.  They had 4 common opponents with comparable results https://www.shakinthesouthland.com/2018/12/6/18123263/how-did-clemson-and-notre-dame-perform-against-common-opponents

Clemson is looking past this game with star DT out, ND wants respect. Game will be much closer than we think.

But the point is to crown a deserving champion. Not to include a bunch of undeserving teams to try and manufacture drama in the hope an upset happens.
Might as well cancel March Madness then.

If the champion is truly deserving, then they can survive the gamut and come out on top. If they can get upset by a G5 conference champ, then they aren't deserving are they?

Football was down this year all around. ND is pitiful, Clem hasn't beaten anyone, even Alabama is winning on offense this year. USC shit, Michigan Shit, Florida Shit, FSU shit.

The only really good team Alabama played was UGA.

UGA should have taken ND place. Also, do away with the conference champion clause, and just apply the BCS formula to the top 4 teams.

Also, play the games on campus according to seeding. Fuck making fans fly to Miami and then California.

Their average rating per recruit is elite.  The class rankings are lower primarily because they take small classes instead of signing 25+ every year.  They redshirt more players than the other top teams and don’t run guys off so much.  Not much roster turnover, but the guys they have are legit.

Looks like their average rating was only elite in the last class they took. I agree with the rest though.

Well, at least Notre Dame made the CFP, but maybe this loss shows how the Fighting Irish need (the talent within) the ACC, more than the other way around:

Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.  As long as Notre Dame is unwillingly to admit they were outclassed then they will continue to get exposed as frauds whenever they face real teams.  I don’t think they care so long as that playoff money keeps rolling in.

I enjoy the history & tradition of Notre Dame as an indy, but realize that at some point, the CFP committee will start to "skip" the school, the same as the past few years for B1G...
An eventual change to this strategy must be made, either win CFP titles again (drought since 1988), or join the ACC; as the conference champs only idea would force the issue...
