Do you think Travelers paid Liz over $200,000 to ensure the asbestos victims were fully compensated or to minimize their liability?

Either way, she was paid a lot of money by a big insurance agency to gain permanent immunity from asbestos-related lawsuits.  That is what she was paid to do - to ensure that this big business had to pay as little as legally possible to asbestos victims.  It's not really surprising that she chose to do this given that deep down she's a conservative.

Quote

“I was a Republican because I thought that those were the people who best supported markets. I think that is not true anymore,” Warren says. “I was a Republican at a time when I felt like there was a problem that the markets were under a lot more strain. It worried me whether or not the government played too activist a role.”

I think it's fair to ask if Warren regrets this. However, to say she's deep down a conservative after attacking giant corporations and banks that have driven the GOPs obsession with deregulation the past however many decades is fucking stupid.

This.

Double standard.  Was Warren supposed to work for free out of the goodness of her heart?

I'm so fucking over the NYT and their bullshit.  They can take their Election Night needle and shove it up their asses.

She wants to "conserve" or reform capitalism in order to head off more radical, structural changes to our political economy.  She is fine with a deeply hierarchical society, she just wants it to function better.

She described herself as a capitalist, I'm aware of that, which is why I really am still leaning towards Bernie. She would still be one of the most left Presidents ever (which yes I'm aware of would be at most center-left in many other countries).

I’m currently open to a new number 1 candidate ... still skiddish on the degree of her left leanings on student loans but I think she’d be a fantastic president in terms of the intangibles including returning decency and decorum to the office.

Care to explain “left leanings on student loans?”
I’m curious

Already asked and answered. I don’t agree with 100% loan forgiveness and free college education. Yes massive reforms, but her positions are too much for me. Still may not preclude me from voting for her.

Seems like this day in age to get any kind of actual reform you have to come out swinging for the fences or you’re assured to get nothing meaningful passed.

Obamacare is a great example of this.  What started out as possible public option, MFA type program ended up being a compromised Republican plan.

That’s why I’m leaning toward supporting her actually. I think Beto is boxed in and I think Warren has a better chance as the lead female in the race. It’s beyond time and she’s solid. She won’t get all of what she proposes on student loans so I don’t think I have much to worry about there. Not a Biden fan at all so it’s likely her.

Posted the insane rise in tuition graph before Troph, it's time to accept that a lot of us are demanding the richest country in the world take care of its citizens. We don't need a bunch of bullshit tax credits, we need actual structural reform.

Absolute shameless bullshit.  She has no clue about the level of work (and costs) that goes into keeping inmates from calling, threatening and harassing their current and prior victims, trial witnesses, their prosecutors and their judges.  Not to mention the efforts to minimize prisoner contacts with co-conspirators and others running their criminal enterprises while in the pokey.  She wants errbody to pay for this rather than the imprisoned criminals who caused the problem.

I take it you don’t have many family members in prison that you get charged $20 to talk to on the phone?   There is a huge racket in the prison system with this bullshit.  It shouldn’t be legal.

So who should pay for all of the required security measures?  Or are you in favor of the incarcerated being free to harass, threaten and conspire?

Maybe we shouldn’t incarcerate so many people to cut costs?  Who should pay for their food and shelter?

You seem to think everyone behind bars is some kind of raving lunatic seeking revenge using the phone.  That’s kind of odd.

There are long-held and well-recognized reasons that landline calls from the incarcerated have historically been controlled and monitored.  The use of a landline by an incarcerated person is considered to be a privilege.  Monitored jail visits were previously considered to be the appropriate level of contact.  Cell phones are contraband in prisons for obvious reasons.  None of that is kind of odd.

What is really kind of odd is that a candidate for POTUS deems this issue to be a worthy note to play prominently in her campaign rhetoric.

Jesus Christ why do you ALL fall into the false dichotomy nonsense? I said massive reforms, just not free higher education and full loan forgiveness. I’ve already said costs are too high, banks are screwing borrowers, pell grants and interest subsidies are cut way too far back, rates need to be cut and fixed and costs the actual price for education needs to be reformed. I just think there should be conditions on heavy subsidies and everyone should pay something, not nothing.

Sounds good to me, let's get on a single payer universal healthcare that phases out private insurance (except maybe for cosmetic and elective care) completely in 5 years.

I was trying to find the second picture and found a bunch more.  Figured  I would guess chronological age and put them in as close as I could.  2nd and 3rd might be off.

She seems like a normal well adjusted woman from the looks of her.  She's absolutely beaming with her newborn.

Do you?

It's relatively simple, since the prison system is the entity that enforces all of the regulations on the phone calls, why are they charging inmates so much?

The prison phone system makes an immense amount of money for a few companies, charging $3.00 for a 15 min phone call.

How much do prisoners get paid?

The policies in place so most of the work on keeping prisoners from harassing anyone, or running a business. It's pretty much all profit (and kickbacks)

I agree with single payer and be careful about elective and cosmetic buzz words you’re talking to someone who’s necessary medical care is often called that.

And yet my original question stands.

What do pictures of how she looked at various points in her life have to do with her qualifications for the job of president of the United States?

She was hot when she was younger.  It fits with your beto milfs argument you use frequently.(whether you realize it or not)  The last picture is where it might get interesting depending on how you interpret it.  Hillary is in it of course.

How is she like Hillary, how is she different?  She is/was hotter.  She is more complete with her policy thoughts IMHO and more substantive on/in her own.(didn't need her husband to get her where she is/was)

But as you mentioned she is a woman.  What will other women think of her wrt to the other candidates, how about the misogynist minority men?(if that is a thing)

So looking at who she was and who she is while comparing and contrasting her with the latest woman iteration of a PotUS candidate is what you can draw from that set of pictures if you want, or not.

OR I like looking at pictures of women and thought some of you might want to see a subset of pictures available on google of the current leading woman candidate for the Democrat nomination.

Damn, you actually admitted that shit.

First, the “Beto milf shit” is a running joke on the board based off a Twitter joke about his ability to make women’s calves cramp.

Which was initially directed at me to insult my discernment and intelligence, as if I have no ability to thoughtfully choose to support a candidate based on my brain and instead must rely on how the candidate makes my vagina tingle.

I recognized people were being sexist and insulting but instead of getting defensive, I leaned into the joke and played along. We women learn how to navigate that shit and choose our battles.

As a result, that particular little avenue of garbage has faded away for the most part and I’ve been able to discuss his candidacy without the “HUR DUR YOU JUST LIKE HIM BECAUSE HE MAKES YOU WET!” juvenile nonsense.

Since you thought that was something real, I’ll translate - It’s a shallow take on why his numbers are good with suburban women.

(You come across as mildly socially awkward and humorless, so I guess it’s possible the joke flew over your head.)

And I have literally never, not once used the term “milf”. Not in relation to Beto or in any other context.

It’s gross and sexist and demeaning.

Now, onto posting “hot pictures” of politicians.

First, and again, something I’ve done once. In response to a gross and sexist and nasty thread started by some perv to attempt some kind of “I’d Pee In Her Butt” thread based on female politicians. I contributed with some Beto photos but I mostly added photos of hot male politicians from all political parties and countries just to kill the thread.

It worked.

Finally, literally no one on this board was asking “I wonder if Elizabeth Warren was hot?”. NO ONE.

It has less than nothing to do with her candidacy. Hotness had nothing to do with why HRC lost the electoral college by ~70,000 votes in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Seriously, truly, what the fuck was your motive?

Tulsi is objectively hot and she doesn’t have a fucking chance.

Sarah Palin was librarian hot and she tanked McCain.

We haven’t had a legitimately hot president since JFK and even he was like a 7-8. Clinton was sexy and attractive and put off a dangerous vibe but maybe a 6 on the hot scale.

Beto is marginally hot - solid 7 - but he’s more the cute lab partner who ends up hotter the longer you know him.

What I’m saying is, hotness doesn’t fucking matter at all when it comes to running for President. Period.

You haven’t done this photo retrospective for Harris or Klobochar or Gillibrand or Williamson or Gabbard.

And you certainly haven’t done it for the dudes.

So try again, you socially stunted, sexist, redpill, incel, listmaking, google image fetish creep.

What does a bunch of pictures showing what Elizabeth Warren looked like throughout her life have to do with her qualifications for president of the United States?

Just ignore Zork.  We all know he's an irredeemable piece of shit who would never want a woman to be President because she should be popping out babies and being a caretaker.  His choice of a favorite picture of her perfectly reflects his sexism.
