  1. Past hour
  2. They are probably our two starters at DT week one.
  3. Very entertaining race as was the Xfinity race the day before. Really glad to see Bubba win but I was holding my breath on that last lap. Evidently he had enough fuel to do a nice burnout as well.
  4. Nice troll. Almost worked.
  5. Thank you for finally acknowledging my elite athleticism.
  6. Started binging Bosch after watching Ballard, just started season 4. It is a really enjoyable show. I keep waiting for Nina Meyers to go double agent (like she did in 24).
  7. Should name the first hurricane "Leopard".
  8. Collin County, back in the day. As a teacher, I had time in the summer, so I became an expert protester, about 12 to 15 years ago. I remember one summer, I was grinding hard, asking for an appraisal to be reduced way down. Had people come out to give me estimates on repairing everything that needed fixing. This was before online protests. I arrived to meet the old men on the committee and they looked at my evidence and met me at least halfway. I had to have been the most successful protester in McKinney, mostly because everybody was so busy working and commuting that they didn't have time to go through the exercise. It was basically a small summer job for me. That summer was worthwhile because the following years the increase was limited because of the 10% rule. A few years later I took my foot off the brake and let the appraisal increase, because I knew we were going to sell. My last year of paying the taxes, I paid $3700, and the lady investor who bought the house paid $5000+. Sold in 2018. Now, as a renter in SA, am looking at the homestead exemption and trying to work the system. My wife turns 63 in a couple of months and she would be on the deed. The new homestead exemption for age 65 or better goes to $200k very soon. If we were to buy a property at under 200k in the calendar year in which she turns 65, theoretically we would have an air-tight case to pay $0 in ISD taxes forever.....or so I thought. Some taxes are also frozen at age 65. I called Bexar county appraisal district in April: Me: "if I buy a property in February of a certain year under 200k you have to accept the sales price as appraised value, correct?" Lady "No, we do our own, but you can protest." Me: "but it is based upon market value, correct?". Lady would not comment further, just repeated previous statement. Based upon my previous success protesting, I could handle that pretty easily, but it would be a lot easier if there were generally accepted rules the appraisal district must follow.
  9. I walked out of my first viewing of Alien. I was taken off guard by how intense it would be for a movie set in space. I left when Harry Dean Stanton was by himself looking for the cat. After that, I went to see it weekly. I was living in a place where I didn't know anybody. At one screening, the sound went out and persisted for more than a minute. The theater was dead quiet watching Ripley trying to escape. I finally got the nerve to announce: In space no one can hear you scream. Brought the house down. I should have done the comedian thing, "Thanks everyone! You've been great!" and strided out as the proper end of my career as a stand up comedian. Just got to this: Sorry.

  11. Tennessee and UCLA both wore their colored jerseys almost all of the time back in the 60’s and 70’s. They could do so because they were so light colored. In the 1969 Cotton Bowl (68 season) I remember Tennessee had to order white jerseys just for the game because even though it is a much lighter shade of orange, someone made the decision they could not wear their orange ones in that game. UCLA wore their blue jerseys here in Austin in 1970. Very colorful afternoon.
  12. Surly tailgate may need to add some https://olesmoky.com/products/white-lightnin for @closetojumping to drink every time Livingstone scores a TD.
  13. Justus will be a manster. And Watson and Brevard weren't recruited just for depth. They have legitimate talent.
  14. if anyone wants an update on forecasting satellites (edit - from a Miami tv hurricane specialist)
  15. With those pics the internet will out the douche dude bros quickly. Internet justice is swift and unforgiving.
  16. Some dude on reddit posted today that he put his entire $300k brokerage account into it and others are asking how to get money out of their retirement early to buy some, there is going to be some serious pain in the future.
  17. chainsaw

    Senate 2026

Yeah but the ex-generals are probably still on the signal group chat

  19. This may be asking for too much, but I am dying to see what a healthy Vasek looks like for a full season. He was very disruptive in his snaps last year, albeit a small sample size. I think Babers said he had the highest pressure rate on the defense. That is a very talented and competitive room, not sure if both Justus and Lance will be a meaningful part of the rotation. Keep in mind it sounds like Spence and Hill will have packages where they are on the Edge.
  20. People keep bringing up the better QB play Texas will face this year and that is true. BUT, Texas didn't face a couple of expected QB's last year due to injury and there's likely to be another one or two this year. That's just college FB. It's just a crap shoot on who it will be. Personally I'd like Hill and Simmons to knock Pavia's head off after the Texas got lucky comments last year.
  21. Wave upon wave, bro. We could put @jimmyjazz or even @Thatguy out there and they could get to the QB cause they’re worried about the other 10 guys.
  22. No clue if it will happen or not but the 9.95 “look out for Nick Brooks at RT” chatter is picking up. As far as position battles that and second corner opposite MM are pretty much it. Well, and the obvious “Can Wingo push Livingstone?”.
  23. One of the knocks on his scouting report is he lacks burst. He is 6'6" so that stride will make up ground later. That makes sense given he didnt run the 100m in HS, 200m is not very good, and the 400m is solid. More of a possession/jump ball guy, than an explosive WR. Again, that is something Georgia needed. I just dont see that profile as a 1st round potential guy. Perhaps my read on him is wrong, we will find out.
