Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
sith_horn replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
Fantastic news. First I've seen anything definitive about Shaw's knee issue. This puts Clark at the 2nd heaviest RB behind Baxter. I don't agree on him being the only RB able to make people miss. Simon's HUDL tape shows some good shiftiness. He doesn't show the extreme cutting ability that Bijan did (who does?), but he has excellent vision and nimble feet. More of a cut and slash style, he is elusive weaving through traffic. Have yet to hear anything about the RB's behind Wisner regarding QB protection. With pads coming on next week, maybe we'll start to hear more about it. Some have mentioned wanting to see whether Gibson has overcome his fumbling issues, but he was also a minus protecting the QB last season. -

Usually feels like everything is a shot in the dark, and you know you can't keep spraying those bullets around. Both tough love and sympathy seem like crap shoots, but when your kid knows you care, things are usually registering more than you think at the time. In this case, even if our son doesn't have a lot of luck with his sister, he deserves the money anyway because he has needed very little from us. He's basically paid his own way and has had some really cool experiences. He's smart with his money. Our daughter is very money-driven, and she knows he's probably going to roll over his 529 into an IRA when he's done. When she gets the advance bottom-line figures from us, she'll listen to him very carefully ... And if I don't have to be in charge of a couple of the campus visits, it's the best money I've spent all summer. I've survived one. Good visit, but outsourcing is my new best friend.

Rewatched the aggy game today on SEC network for the first time. Overall feeling of frustration that it wasn't 31-0 or so. The pick 6 and the fumble, that shit just can't happen. Play Arch more, they shit their pants and called a timeout the second time he came in, then Quinn is back after the timeout. Not 1, not 2, but 3 OL downfield and no call on that pass to the tight end to set up our final goal line stand was infuriating. Three blatant faked injuries in second half to stall momentum were as well. Plenty of aggy stupidity to laugh at too though...not even pretending to rush our punt with under 2 minutes left after blocking the previous one is something I'll never understand. Goal line playcalling was pathetic. Crowd shots of gomers doing Horns down like they just invented it.

q: how many teams in the postseason will have a better 1-2 than wheeler/sanchez? follow-up q: how many will have a better 1-4 than wheeler, sanchez, ranger, luzardo? depending on the health of teams like houston, seattle, and la, philly could have the scariest pitching in the postseason.

Main event was great.

My comments haven't been remotely trollish. I want to know why your entertainment requires other people's money. You offer no rebuttal. I feel like you should have some shame at your basic lack of any sense of responsibility. Why are you more special than everyone else? Why doesn't my entertainment get subsidized too? And yes, I believe your sense of entitlement is a stain on society. Countries succeed when old men plant trees under whose shade they will never rest, not when old people suck every last drop of life for their short term benefit. I will await your measured and well thought out response. -
The AirBNB in Portland we stayed in and a number of shop managers mentioned a drop in Canadian tourists in the area. Probably explains the desperation of other certain professions (if you were the target).

Charlie Morton ain’t gonna help if we plan on scoring 5 runs per series.

I'd like to go out there one of these weekends. I fee like I'm "too late" but at the same time I know the work will be there for a very long time. What's the best way to do this? Its been almost 8 years since Harvey... when I go back to my old hood I see a few houses/lots that still haven't recovered so I know people will need help for a long time.

Young man’s game. So few 40+ guys in the top 70.

We might be cooked. HOU and SEA have the 24th and 27th SOS remaining.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

You methodically built up tremendous credibility on Surly over many years. It’s been an impressive run. But you just completely destroyed it all in one post. You are now on the level of Rocko, TxTow, and Helobious. -
The point is not that Texas would have beaten OU if Benson had played. The point is that he didn't play at all. Not a single snap. And then he was the workhorse the rest of the season. And no offense to Ivan Williams, but he was never in the class of Benson. He was fool's gold. If he wasn't the very picture of chopped liver as a running back, I don't think we use that term in the same way.

I just spent weeks building spreadsheets to analyze these scenarios. Roth conversions are the mechanism to deal with that, or saving more in after tax accounts rather than just IRA’s. However, there was an interesting article written about the “widow tax” that debunks some of the perceived cost of it. The guy does make a decent point. It’s a bit along the lines of what Imammac is saying https://www.financialplanningassociation.org/learning/publications/journal/DEC23-widow-tax-hit-debunked-OPEN?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwLh_ehleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHpKnpeidF9xh6NKlKm6oELFyhwwriQQx6E8LI7dbLLL91MCadhaAp7idd2kZ_aem_-ssQJ5Ve3SYMR9wW-42tKA
