But as I’ve said before, metal is a big tent and all are welcome. With the possible exception of nu-metal/rap metal. Ugh.

Trumps War on drugs, Venezuela and Colombia

The footprint is grotesque. The whole thing is grotesque. This President and MAGA is grotesque. But in a way we deserve this. We should have this eyesore forever to remind us of the abject failure that is this President and Presidency. We don’t reckon with slavery and Native American genocide because there’s nothing ‘lasting’ showing its horrors. No mirror to our face. Hell we have statues of the guys who did the enslaving and lost fighting a war to preserve the slavin’. Maybe this ballroom can be the anti-civil war statue for us so that we may heal.

Regardless, no one will ever face accountability for it. At least no one with power. -

I think it was just backing up to show that Paraguay got her video and he’s been on his way to her for a couple days. I assume they meet next week. -

Back to that purely theoretical and ridiculous hypothetical about Trump pardoning Seals who kill his political opponents…is it a good thing that the commander of JSOC might go to prison for murder if the Republican candidate loses in 2028? -

As mentioned on the other thread, justsecurity.com has a bunch of good explainers on this. https://www.justsecurity.org/125948/illegal-orders-shipwrecked-boat-strike-survivors/ These actually are not war crimes because we're not at war, or in an armed conflict. They are violations of customary (non-statutory) and other international law and likely constitute murder. -

Texas Basketball 2025-26: It’s Miller Time

I think our NIL is no where close to top programs if what Gerry said when miller was hired is true. Seems we’re half of everyone else -
As Texan fans, feels like we've been sheltered from the Wild West of college football due to 2 straight semifinal appearances. Sark and co. retained a lot of the roster and sprinkled in some portal players. Shit's about to get real after a disappointing season and missing the playoffs.

Good explainer on extrajudicial killings, war crimes, and murder. https://www.justsecurity.org/126156/expert-qa-on-the-u-s-boat-strikes/ Fun fact. These aren't war crimes. Because we're not at war. justsecurity.com has a bunch of good shit on this. Joe Bob says twist and shout check it out. Zero breasts, no aardvarkings.

I really haven’t followed his career but everything I’ve heard about the coaching carousel says Sumrall may end up being the best hire of the lot. People who follow the sport seem to think highly of him.

It depends on what Penn State wants. Campbell is very similar to Franklin in a lot of ways. He’s an elite program builder that’s kind of a shitty in-game coach. He also struggles with high expectations, and high profile moments. Really, he’s perfect for a job like ISU where we’re thrilled with being consistently solid and have no pretenses of being elite. He will win a lot more than he loses, but that’s not been enough for the pederasts. I’d be shocked if he’s still employed there in 5 years.
