  2. In conference play: Player A- .189 average, 4 homers, .400 slugging percentage and a 31% strikeout rate Player B- .205 average, 5 homers, .422 slugging percentage and a 49% strikeout rate
  3. Counterpoint: Trevor Lawrence. He played very well as a freshman and then went on to beat Bama in the National Championship game the following year. I think it's old school to think that the freshman QBs can't handle the pressure. If they are as talented as Arch and the QB1 is holding the team back, I think it makes sense to give the freshman an accelerated development plan.
  4. I should have bought more PLTR - Right now I am upside capped due to my calls for next Friday. Those $150 May 9th calls I considered yesterday at close would have been wise... But I am still more on the sidelines at this point.
  5. There are 250 four stars every year. That's not impressive at all. 27 of 250 being elite is like saying every team drafts great because 27 out of 32 all-pros were drafted. Numerically it's pretty much exactly the same. Again, every single 4 star you see in that list is a 5 star whiff based on their own stated metric.
  6. Looks like Poeta closed already. Bummer.
  7. edit: wrong thread
  8. https://www.404media.co/researchers-secretly-ran-a-massive-unauthorized-ai-persuasion-experiment-on-reddit-users/ Make no mistake, if this is what researchers are willing to publicly admit to doing, just imagine with Big Tech oligarchs and nation state-backed intelligence are capable of doing.
  9. Yuck. A full day/night of non-conference championship Eastern conference basketball every other day? Until/if a series reaches 7 games, a lot of people will just plan to occasionally score check that day and not bother watching. I'll tune into the 4th quarter of a Pacers/Bucks game because I know that the Lakers and TWolves are up next. And you want the late Eastern conference game to tip off at 10PM local?
  10. Moving this to a different thread - crazy timing but Jeff Gerstmann just happened to already have a podcast lined up with VGBees. He talks pretty in depth about what's going on, from his perspective.
  11. Yeah it really dont make a shit but here are screen shots. I'm truly disappointed in you as I lobbed up some softballs of beauty that you scrolled right past. I expect better from you!!
  12. They’ll be all over the place very shortly
  13. csb - My great great grandfather built the stone building on the SE corner of the square (I think it's an H&R Block building now). He sold furniture and did land deeds out of it.
  14. I agree 100%. If you are in the camp that Manning should have become the starter last year, Sark gave him that opportunity. Sure, it was under extremely challenging circumstances, but the door was opened.
  15. I just read this page’s posts and see that, after another week on this most critical topic, we still haven’t reached a resolution, but I have every confidence in the brain trust coming to a verdict before the trial. Keep fighting the good fight!
  16. PROTECT OUR CHILDREN!!* from everything except bullets
  17. Right, but you have to click on the comment to read what was said. Otherwise you just know that the ignoree responded. The text is hidden. I think. At any rate, it doesn't really matter -- especially on a Friday.
  18. I'm sorry, what's the outrage? The #1 "news" organization in this country does this on a nightly basis. Speaking of, I recently started going to the gym again for the first time in a decade+. I usually grab a treadmill on the back row, and from there I can see the screens on all of the treadmills in front of me. 8/10 people over 60 are watching Fox News while running/pedaling. This is in LA, fwiw. For people under 50, I'd say maybe 1/20 are watching a news program of any type.
  19. 60 degrees and a nice light breeze at sunup on Sunday. Can't wait!
  20. I agree with Klatt, with a caveat. I think Sark knew how things were going to go. But I don't think he wastes learning opportunities, and I think pulling Ewers gave him a chance to let Ewers reset but to also show Arch (and the fanbase) that Arch wasn't ready for prime time. That Arch isn't some savior. He's literally saying "let me show you why you're not starting. You don't want this smoke week in and week out." I'm sure he has it in the back of his mind that Arch's legs or deep ball might turn the tide, but that was unlikely and would have been a pretty nice problem to have were it true. If you remember the spring game a couple of years ago, Sark did the same thing - he put a freshman Manning in against our ones on defense. The deck was stacked against him and Manning struggled, understandably. But it also showed everyone that Arch wasn't going to come in and take the job from Ewers. With Ewers, Murphy, and Manning on the roster, that room could have fallen apart in 2023, but it didn't. I will admit there were times that I wish Sark would pull Ewers - most notably the Kentucky game. But I'm capable of cooling off and letting it go. I might second guess my betters, but you have to be able to move on when they show you they're right. Much of this is speculation on my part and I will fully admit that i wear burnt orange glasses. But the guy knows how to manage that room. Scottish timepiece or whatever his name is definitely doesn't.
  21. I need a warm body with 1B or 3B eligibility. Would be willing to trade OF or SS.
