  2. It’s also an issue that “facts have a liberal bias” has gone from some smug asshole thing to say to a real problem where you can’t present both “viewpoints” while adhering to any of the core principles of journalism.
  3. ok, this is not seinfeld related but I can’t find a dumb and dumber thread and I don’t want to start a new one. and you pricks in here seem like you’d be the ones who’d appreciate it. but I’d never seen this before. any of yall ever seen this before?
  4. Interesting, but just under 10.7 by the kid in Britain wouldn't have got him out of some districts in Texas and what the article failed to mention is not only did a 17-year old junior when the 100 M last spring, but there were two younger participants who ran under that 10.68 they highlighted in the story. Also, fucking spikes aren't the reason these kids are running in the so damn fast.
  5. Conservative media today would be nowhere as even-handed as Buckley, who actually believed in the exchange of ideas. Incidentally, Firing Line was restarted in 2009 with Herbert Hoover's granddaughter as host. She is conservative, and former Fox commentator, but anti Trump, as I suspect Buckley would have been. If there's any liberal slant in PBS/NPR, I suspect it's really in PBS News' various shows. But, the presence of Firing Line in the lineup indicates more of an effort at even-handedness than most. I suspect that those of you claiming its liberal captured don't listen to NPR or watch PBS. Like most things, you've been suckered by propaganda. Also, caught up on some American Experience and Frontline. The AE on German American Bund was excellent. Almost completely factual, but it has darky and Jew commentators (woke!). It's timing is felicitous, as is the one on the Gilded Age. THAT is the very subtle liberal slant of PBS.

  7. His essay is on point - basically a couple of short vignettes demonstrating the impact of poor leadership that lead him to his view on leadership, inclusivity, lead by example and accountability. He finishes with vignettes where he did those things as drum major. It totally shows compassion, leadership and passion. off the rails - I mean he’s quit his job and has no money, he quit doing things around the house without asking, before we left for a vacation he got drunk with his friends (not the worst thing a senior can do but way off his baseline), he’s running on adrenaline and full of cortisol as he tries to be the baddest drum major ever and it’s not a good look. He’s told me to be quiet 3-4 times in the last week where before it was rare. He’s got an inflated ego beyond anything I’ve seen from him, he won’t work on his college apps without me sitting on him, and he’s acting like a dick and is just an unpleasant kid to be around where before he was a dream kid to raise. I’m taking it in stride but it isn’t fun rn.
  8. Everyone knows Charlies was too old 8 years ago right?
  9. RMDs are necessary and I don’t have a ton of sympathy for someone who is pushed to 200-250k in taxable income and higher tax brackets. There was a deal with tax advantaged, retirement accounts that the owner would someday pay taxes on their accounts. Time to pay the piper. Im going to assume an older person, who doesn’t want to take RMDs, already has plenty of money and assets. And they want to avoid a >30% bracket. I get it but start spending the money, or give it away. Or is it their eventual heirs that are ticked off?

  12. I see some Emmitt Smith shiftiness in these highlights... Simon moves extremely well in tight spaces
  13. Never miss an opportunity .......
  14. Almost done with reading Newey's book and he really isn't too cautious when making his feelings known about Ferrari, the way they were treated differently by the FIA, the way other teams felt about Ferrari, and his thoughts on Michael crashing out David to make sure he won the WDC. No doubt Adrian has his faults, but it reminds me of listening to Cowboy fans.

  16. Is that Dan Patrick ? Fucking CR is —>
  17. My first thought was Geno, but after looking at his stats I think he is a little short
  18. They need to fix the slack tank that is causing the listing, no?
  19. Quinn was contributor to Texas's success the last 3 years. He was not the main reason. The NFL draft was evidence of that. Maalik never lost at Texas, because he was surrounded by NFL talent. He lost at Duke, because he was surrounded by mediocre talent. QB is the only position on the field that people pretend team success is a barometer for individual play. The defense led Texas to the playoffs the last 2 years, but nobody is going to say Sorrell is a legend based on that
  20. Abbott and Patrick would say that counties don’t have a choice. They will tell the people who want to remain an American to leave.
  21. Monday - Bobby "The team gets going in full pads for the first time this morning. Practice starts right around 9am."
  22. Troph not sure but that looks like a sea ray SLX to me
  23. We used a consultant with our oldest. They started working together sophomore year to tailor her school schedule and start working on other things that would help her through the process. By the time her senior year started, she was completely done with everything application wise and was just waiting on the process to open. They spent her senior year working on scholarship applications, trying to get another point or two on the ACT, etc. My oldest wanted to go out of state to schools that were hard to get into, so it made sense to us to do it. My youngest is a senior this year and hasn’t done anything at this point. She has no interest in going to an exclusive school, so she should be fine. She’s going to work with the school staff, so we’ll see what the differences are.
