Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

Illinois is going to open the season ranked much higher than USC. The Illini return a seasoned and solid QB and a lot of talent in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Riley teams play soft on the road. Illinois is likely to beat the absolute dogshit out of those frauds. -
I assume with PACE and the CAP program that you're guaranteed admission to UT if you meet the minimum requirement (credits/hours/gpa?). Anyone know or have any kids that instead went to another D1 school for freshman year and then tried transferring into UT their 2nd year? For example, curious what the risk or GPA requirement is if your kid gets the CAP option but passes on it to do freshman year at a Colorado St. or something similar, then tries to transfer into UT for their 2nd year. I'm sure there's stories of kids doing that and then not being able to get back into UT, which sucks but maybe not to bad if you can major in business or engineering compared to the limited options UT gives you for CAP/PACE.

I bet he still doesn’t know why there are 13 stripes on the American Flag. https://www.threads.com/@larenmcjesse/post/DMevU5bOvnL?xmt=AQF0r7NvE6mHid3m7QC52XfeGlJuNlLmGTa13RQTnDjfOQ

Looking through his stats in the Cape Cod league and his batting average is .245 but he is slugging an awful .306. 2 extra base hits in 60 plate appearances and he is still striking out at an extremely high rate. Maybe the step down in competition will help but he seems to not be in a good place with his swing/approach/whatever.

We had a coach in junior high that told us a story the week of our rivalry game in the middle of practice. He said the other team had a giant DE who had almost died in a tragic car accident. Instead, he spent a year in the hospital recovering from burns and other injuries. As a result, he’d already gone through puberty so he was huge. On top of that, his right forearm was nothing now but just a grizzled club that had lost its nerve endings. He used it to batter opposing running backs and had knocked multiple guys out of games already. “Jesus Christ”, I thought. “What the fuck are we walking into here?!“ I looked for this guy all game. The coach made the whole thing up but I’ve always thought that could be a badass player it had been true. Welp, here he is, folks. Our DL better have their shit together against this monster in 2026 and beyond. -

We liked to Hike at Palmer Park not nearly as crowded as most spots. Denver Biscuit and Fat Sulleys are in the same building I believe they just change menus after a certain time located on Tejon Street downtown. -

I’m a plumber so this hits close to home - not quite a millionaire but can afford indoor plumbing and WiFi -
He's referencing this scene from Wolf of Wallstreet: Although to be fair, the characters in that scene are indeed referencing Freaks

We're all getting a real up close and personal lesson on what it means to be a cult leader with millions of followers. Just in the last week "Biden and Hillary created the Epstein hoax and Obama committed treason and I might set the most famous living child sex trafficker free so that she can keep pedophilia charges away from me." Cult: "Yay!!!" -
I have to admit, I get a bit of sick pleasure waiting to find out what insane lineup we're about to trot out there each night. Cam leading off? Sure! Caratini batting third? Might as well! Hummel in the 6 spot? Okay!

we should think about a standalone condom thread - this will be a fascinating topic as this season unfolds their schedule sets up nicely in 3 phases +++ talk about the league office setting them up the bomb mo state (sms now fbs) - W ga southern - W @ purdue - W mi state - W @ illinois - W OFF they should have no problem opening 5-0 while taking care of b1g scrub roadies when the weather is good +++ rubber meet road: michigan - ? @ domer - ? OFF if they win either, the hype will be loud +++ ils glideslope: corn - W northwestern - W iowa - W @ duck -? ucla -? +++ anything from 8-4 to undefeated is possible, 10-2 looks likely and that puts riley the slut back on the front burner zero trap games zero weather hassles last trip east october 18th no back-to-back trips quite frankly if riley can't win 10 with this schedule he should retire -
Outstanding pics. The little postcard op on Punta Sur is so good with that background / shades of blue. Glad you enjoyed.

Ghislane Maxwell is a monster. Everyone focused on Epstein's crimes understandably, but I think a lot of people (including MAGA) don't realize all the terrible things she did. In a fucked up way, I hope he pardons her. Either it's the ultimate backfire, or it speeds up the process of ending this country. Let's get on with it. -
I was in the north end behind the goal. Kids were going nuts about this guy the whole time - much more so than for the soccer players. There was even a middle school aged pitch invader that ran out there looking for the Speed fella.

It's more than that. The way our government works is that if they build from scratch funds are more limited. If they are rehabbing a building they can keep going back to the well for more funds. I was involved in the Homeland Security headquarters project way back when after 9/11 when they took the old St. Elizabeth's Hospital (mental institution) and rehabbed it. Cost overruns everywhere but the government paid.
