  4. From the Washington Post: ‘It was me’: Suspect in Charlie Kirk shooting appeared to confess in Discord chat ‘Im sorry for all of this’ read a message from the suspect’s account, according to two people familiar with the message and screenshots obtained by The Post. September 15, 2025 at 2:27 p.m. EDTToday at 2:27 p.m. EDT 4 min Summary855 By Hannah Knowles , Shawn Boburg and Aaron Schaffer The 22-year-old suspect in Charlie Kirk’s killing appears to have confessed to friends in an online chat shortly before turning himself in to law enforcement, according to two people familiar with the chat and screenshots obtained by The Washington Post. “Hey guys, I have bad news for you all,” said a message from an account belonging to the suspect, Tyler Robinson, on the online platform Discord. “It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this.” The message was sent Thursday night, about two hours before officials said Robinson was taken into custody. Advertisement A member of the group chat shared an image of the conversation with The Post and confirmed that it came from Robinson’s account. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect their privacy and out of fear of harassment. Discord provided a copy of the message with the confession to authorities, according to a person familiar with the company’s interaction with law enforcement. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss details of the investigation. The message was sent from Robinson’s account to a small private group of online friends, the person said. Discord is working closely with the FBI and local authorities, providing information about Robinson’s online activities on the platform, the person added. Discord has said that an internal investigation found “no evidence that the suspect planned this incident or promoted violence on Discord.” The Utah County Sheriff’s Office referred The Post to the Utah Department of Public Safety, which did not respond to a request for comment. Spokespeople for the Utah DPS as well as for the FBI and the Department of Justice declined to comment. Robinson was arrested last week after a 33-hour manhunt, accused of fatally shooting one of the country’s most prominent conservative activists at a Utah Valley University event. Authorities have said one of Robinson’s family members reached out to a friend who then contacted law enforcement, saying Robinson had confessed or implied that he committed the crime. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) said over the weekend that Robinson’s motive is still under investigation but that the suspect appears to have held a “leftist ideology.” Officials say their interviews indicate that Robinson became “more political” in recent years and had criticized Kirk. The Discord conversation shared with The Post shows members of the group chat reacting to Kirk’s shooting last Wednesday — before the news broke that Robinson was allegedly involved. The group included about 30 people, according to the person who provided screenshots. “Charlie Kirk got shot,” one friend wrote Wednesday afternoon, according to an image of the messages. “I just saw the video holy s---,” another user wrote about an hour and a half later, adding of Kirk: “Bro didn’t deserve to go out like that sad.” The only response from Robinson’s account came the next day with the message announcing “bad news.” “im surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments,” the message, posted at 7:57 p.m. local time in Utah, continued. “thanks for all the good times and laughs, you’ve all been so amazing, thank you all for everything.” Robinson was taken into custody at 10 p.m. that night, according to FBI Director Kash Patel. No one responded to Robinson that night, according to the screenshots obtained by The Post. But the next day, one friend wrote that the apparent confession seemed to be true. The friend asked group members to “pray for Tyler and his repentance” and then turned to Kirk. “While Charlie Kirk’s politics were not acceptable to some I ask that we all say a prayer for him and his family during these confusing times,” the friend added. The New York Times reported on a conversation in a different Discord chat group earlier the same day. In that conversation, Robinson joked that a “doppelgänger” was trying to get him in trouble after law enforcement released images of a shooting suspect who resembled Robinson. Cox confirmed the existence of that conversation on Sunday and said Robinson’s friends “did not believe it was actually him” at that point. The person who provided other Discord messages to The Post said they are from a different group.
  5. This TCU team has surprised a lot of people at 7-1 after losing their star senior OH Jaylen Gibson to a leg injury. But just like Parra, they have another stud undersize (5'9) OH in Evan Hendrix They are only hitting .238 on the year, so their 7-1 record is impressive considering their two main OHs are both under .190 hitting MB Roberson .312 OH Hendrix .187 MB Sylvester .374 OH Murphy .333 OH Kelly .157 OH Coleman .255 Hendrix and Kelly get the bulk of their attempts (315 and 254), so that is where the Texas block will have to focus. Murphy has 135 and then their middles are just shy of 100 attempts each. They shine defensively, only allowing opposing teams to hit .169 and average 2.55 blocks per set. 42 aces to 80 errors - so their serve game can hurt ya In comparison: Texas .256 (Stafford .294, Ames .360, AVW .170, Harvey .412, Cari .292, Devin .224, Bunton .204) 22 aces to 30 errors 2.35 blocks per set (opponents are actually outblocking Texas, 2.61 to 2.35, but most of that has to be Louisville lol)
  6. If we lose the postseason because we FAFO'ed and took out Helman to put Garcia back in...well, I won't be pleased. If Garcia is in this series, he better channel 2023 and hang dong all over Houston's bitchass face.
  7. Rutgers had something similar in the early 10s…they’re terrible in every scenario but overcast.
  8. I was on vacation when this happened and was pretty shocked not only by the NYT headline that flashed on my phone, but my reaction. I actually felt sick. Here is a paraphrasing of what I told my friends when they asked about it: "I am shocked and actually feel really icky about this. Violence like this is not ok AND, not BUT, AND this is exactly what happens when the right stokes the flames for a decade with violent rhetoric."
  9. And I'm not insane. Please don't put in the newspaper that I'm insane.
  10. obviously you never watched the mindy project, which was a great show (for 2-3 seasons). that's where i first saw/appreciated him.
  11. A few thoughts about the current state of affairs: 1. Milwee is the most hated person on Surly right now. But Arch has his own QB coach, David Morris. It would be interesting to hear about the dynamic between Morris and the coaching staff on the current Arch situation. Like any conflict, I'm sure both sides are blaming each other. But at the end of the day, I'm not sure how much Milwee is influencing Arch's mechanics, feet, alignment, etc. In the attached article there is a refence to arm angles being captured by drones. Have they loaded Arch's brain with so many concepts his head has exploded? If you are taking drone footage of arm angles, I would say "Yes". As an erratic golfer, I can attest to the damage that can be done by juggling too much information on mechanics. https://www.redbull.com/us-en/arch-mannings-offseason-training#:~:text=with David Morris-,© Justen Williams,Arch and the Texas Longhorns. 2. I am less worried about Guilbeau than others. He plays a tough position and always has to chase guys around. He's going to get beat. Hopefully not a lot. He's talented. 3. I've been unhappy with Sark's offense from a total continuity level since the day he stepped on campus. He mixes in occasional brilliant play calling with a stubborness and lack of creativity that bogs down the offense. However, I do believe he purposely went plain vanilla running attack Saturday because he wants his team to run the ball more effectively and wanted them to practice it. So maybe the offense will look better in 2 weeks. This week will be all about giving Arch enough dynamic plays to get everyone off his back. Then they will run some more.
  12. Two-percenter! JK, kick that cancer's ass.
  13. So would universal health care, an unbiased not-for-profit news mechanism, laws against spreading misinformation, and a livable wage, oh, and gun control laws. But we aren't interested in those things.
  14. Here's some context: A veiled threat to stone transpeople by justifying it through the Old Testament, while criticizing someone for being tolerant of transpeople who justify their tolerance from the New Testament Christ's command to love your neighbor as yourself. Then, the second post where he angrily shouts to that audience that someone is an abomination to God. These aren't soundbites with short clips taken out of context. Maybe -phobe is the wrong suffix, but then again, fear is at the heart of hate. And Kirk clearly hated transpeople.
  15. I blame you. You and your damn unrealisticly high hopes and expectations and myopic attitudes. Thanks Gabe
  16. Huge 15mm share bloc sold in IBRX today atm... Wonder if PSS sold some of his private stash. Stock finished at the high of the day and nice upward momentum starting to form. I think things are about to start happening.
  17. If I could add, DEI is not to hire minorities. It's to give them a fucking chance. And it explodes some people's tiny brains that they were actually picked for the job, position, whatever because they were best qualified. DEI is what helped a minority, or woman, or whatever get the chance to at least get a look. If you say you don't support DEI, its because you don't care that others get a fair shake.
  18. An independent justice department would be an asset to the citizens of this country.
  19. Right, you think horrific, horrible things aren't horrific. thank you.
  20. Depends on how you are positioned in the market. I think a correction will come eventually because inflation is rising. I figure we will be at 3.5% inflation heading into Christmas. Whether that does anything to the market who knows.
  21. it's the lack of proper food that's fucked him up
