  2. I heard at least a couple of economists, one of which I believe was Klugman, speculate the AI bubble is so massive, and the US economy/debt so shitty now, that the government wouldn't be able to bail out an AI bubble burst.
  3. Thanks. Hope it’s legit. I’ll be in Charlotte this weekend, need a feed to watch the Texans and the Dolphins.
  4. I have a retired guy that works for me part time. He is maybe 5’4” Starting cornerback for the tar heels in the late 70’s then flew f-14’s and 18’s in the navy for 30 years. he’s been teased his entire life about his height but dude is the biggest badass I know.

  6. Pulitzer Prize-winning correspondent Peter Arnett, who reported on Vietnam and Gulf wars, has died Peter Arnett, the Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter who spent decades dodging bullets and bombs to bring the world eyewitness accounts of war from the rice paddies of Vietnam to the deserts of Iraq, has died. He was 91. Arnett, who won the 1966 Pulitzer Prize for international reporting for his Vietnam War coverage for The Associated Press, died Wednesday in Newport Beach and was surrounded by friends and family, said his son Andrew Arnett. 7. Maybe you're right... How has the distribution of ages in Oklahoma changed? The share of the population that is 0 to 4 years old decreased from 7% in 2010 to 6.1% in 2022. The share of the population that is 65 and older increased from 13.5% in 2010 to 16.4% in 2022.
  8. Our grandkids are 3 and 1. There's absolutely still waiting lists for quality daycare and preschools. It's expensive AF and the 2nd kid makes the equation increasingly difficult to justify both parents working full time when it comes to the intersection of diminishing returns financially and investing that extra time directly into the kids.. Both of their parents are post grad educated, gainfully employed, pay their taxes, never been arrested etc. I'm sure that's somehow undesirable for some of your assessments on here. All is not lost, our other son and DIL are equally educated but 5 years younger and insist they are not having chil'ren...yet.
  9. Need to buy a car. Prices are so high, I wonder if the used market drops enough if I wait a few months.

  19. Cool. None of that, in any way, shape, or form, resembles "fascism". None of us--or anyone outside his family, probably--had any say over Joe Biden's decision making process. He chose poorly. Democrats made what they felt was the best decision in a sea of pretty imperfect options given their time constraints. Voters were free to express their disapproval at the nomination per the democratic process. Many apparently did, standing by their principles to honor the established norms by helping to elect known election norm follower Donald Trump. I hope they are thoroughly satisfied with how things turned out for them and the country.
  20. Those are standard derricks and were often made of wood. I worked the A-frame derricks in the late 1970s which moved from site to site. They were big and made of iron.
