I get it, conservatives don’t like the hate toward Charlie Kirk. Hey, I’m with you, hate no person, hate no living thing. but if you’re going to condemn those who are too weak on the left and say hateful things about Charlie Kirk, are you going to say anything about the hate Charlie Kirk said about others? This is not a gotcha game, I am here for the radical revolution of kindness LFG!

Charlie Kirk Assassinated [Shooter remains at large]

10 years of the dehumanization of those you disagree with makes it ok to murder them for the lunatic fringe. Two failed presidential assassinations and one successful political assassination bear that out. Evil is real. Simple as that -

Yep. I've already heard from multiple people I know/am related to, all about Kirk and what this all means and how this is bad or good for whichever side they are on or oppose. Two days ago, if I said the name "Charlie Kirk" to these people, they, knowing I like Star Trek, would have asked if that was Captain Kirk's brother (that's George "Samuel" Kirk Jr you simpletons) or dad (George Samuel Kirk Sr). But, social media makes them experts on somebody they didn't know existed or who had only heard about in passing 24 hours before. Charlie Strong was absolutely right about social media being the downfall of society. -

I wish Charlie Kirk were alive. I wish he was less divisive when he was alive. I wish people would eschew being radicalized to political violence, whether they are drawn to it from the left or right. I wish there wasn't a machine that has been erected to mass produce them. I wish we had leaders who were more intent on fixing vs exploiting -- maybe even engineering -- our problems. I wish the people who are using this sad event as a platform for moral or ideological oneupmanship could see they are part of the problem, again, whether they are drawn to it from the right or left. I wish everyone would calm the fuck down, focus on their proximal lives and concentrate on the shit they can directly control, affect and make better. I wish I had taken my own advice sooner. I wish Charlie Kirk had, too. I wish Charlie Kirk's daughters had their dad. I wish the dad's of the kids shot at the Catholic school in Minneapolis 2 weeks ago and the public school in Evergreen, CO yesterday had their kids. I wish this world was worthy of my own kids. That is all. -
My “Yeah for Sure,” was a response to, “He’s not going to make it.” Not the “Man of God,” comment. But yes, I’m sure we do have different views on a few things.

The Majority Report has been covering the divisive, incendiary, idiotic shit Charlie Kirk has said for years and Sam Seder has debated Kirk previously in public and embarrassed him. This segment from four years ago in which they talk about a Kirk event in Boise in 2021 when a member of Kirk's own audience asks "when do we get to use the guns?" is very relevant today. The Kirk defenders and the pearl-clutching @Frank Hammer crying about the way we treat each ought to watch this clip.

Hell is not about dispensing man's retribution for what other men did on earth. It’s eternal separation from God because of failure to accept Jesus‘s sacrifice for our sins, and the only unforgivable sin is knowingly rejecting that sacrifice. Knowing that God forgives what I consider to be unforgivable is the toughest thing about being a Christian in my opinion.

Idaho is a quick 3 hour drive away and within its state lines live some real nutbars. Beautiful natural resources though.... -
My bottom line is not to trust those who support a convicted criminal that tries to overturn a legal election and appoints incompetent morons to positions of power. Simple as that, like it or not.

So if we have no real physical description at this point, the break is going to have to come from the shooter either being a real loud mouth about intentions online or in person, or have failed in keeping traceable electronics off their person, right? -

For the most part, I've stayed away from the two threads pertaining to Kirk. They've gone the way I expected them to go, pretty much as you've succinctly stated above. One of the things noticed, both here and elsewhere in media (social and otherwise) are the number of people who talk about how angry they are, one described it as 'seething.' The term one uses after the loss of someone one cares about is mourning. We mourn the loss of whatever connection we had with them--right down to the most basic: they were a human being akin to us through the birth of one of our own species. The *Sandy Hook parents who lost their children; they mourned all that was and all that would never be. If the feeling one has right after this event is rage and revenge and hate, then perhaps some reflection is in order so that one might examine exactly what this person meant to oneself. If this person was essentially an agent for beliefs in which one shared, then looking around for the opposite in which to unleash those baser instincts will be easy enough, but therein is the paradox. Mourning requires that one treat death with respect. Looking for ways in which to perpetrate more of it is the direct opposite. *Sandy Hook was obviously one of many such tragedies, but there were so so many deaths...until the next one came along.
