SEC 2025: Never invite a vampire into your home
Mitch Cumsteen replied to Mitch Cumsteen's topic in Football
Florida, wtf was that? Otherwise the bottom of the conference really showed out yesterday. Vandy, Mississippi State, Mizzou. I hate to say it but Oklahoma looked a million times better than I thought they would. Their qb may end up paralyzed but he was giving me Dillon Gabriel in the cotton bowl ptsd vibes. That guy is a gamer. I hope Michigan really is that terrible. -
Early season setback incoming!!!

You act like the not running is just a SJSU gameplan and it’s not. We barely ran him against OSU when we needed something to jump start the offense. I completely understand not having a bunch of runs against SJSU. I don’t understand not running against OSU. Sark doesn’t like his QBs to run and that is stupid when you have a QB who is capable of making dynamic plays with his legs. Injuries happen in football whether your qb runs the ball or not. Limiting your playbook out of fear of injury is just dumb, especially when the offense struggles to move the ball as is.

Player started following Arch Manning: Elite or Incomplete?

I always liked Gundy. He always did things his way and added a lot of balls that many coaches did not. The only time I ever really hated OSU was when they raked Charlie over the coals in officiating. I still wonder what the deal was that day. He had a lot of great moments and was fun to watch. Once he listed his ranch for sale, I figured something was on the horizon. I wonder if he rides off into the sunset or we see him at another program in the future. Long live the mullet. He’s a man, he’s way past 40.

He is LDS and I’m pretty sure that would have been a culture clash with both the bourbon set and the nerd set at UVA. UVA for years wanted to be Harvard all week and then Alabama on Saturday, but the Harvard set usually won fights. It’s a hard job. A really hard job for institutional reasons. If he was going to be successful at NM he was going to have to go and raid Utah, Arizona, Colorado for recruits and he can likely do that easier at Utah State. NM has woeful high school football. And he gets to be at home and close to grandkids as he winds down his career. I think he’s a case of a guy who got the perfect job for him (BYU) and only realized it after he left.

Fuck yeah. I’m pretty sure I have the 10 years younger part and looks too…. some dude at the country club bar by the golf course said I looked 37 the other day (I’m 50). I mean he may have been enamored with me and ramblyn and probably drunk and engaging in flattery but I’ll take it.

The market for "free" yardage is determined by demand/risk. There was little demand for free yardage in the game thus acquiring it and assuming the risk would be poor judgment. (Not bad for an RTF grad!) My acumen is in similar demand, but I stand with you, brother. Correct, IMHO. Further, Manning needs work on seeing the field as a passer not a runner. He's playing like a very promising QB in his first year starting. We've got some lesser opponents lined up, this is an opportunity to work on weaknesses not strengths, IMHO. I despise the dull minded sportswriting world that has treated his first year starting as a coronation. Then they get all mad because they look like idiots for expecting so much, so, naturally, they believe the problem lies with Manning. When I used to buy Dave Campbell's mag every year, they had a run of being wrong about who would win the SWC. After about seven consecutive faulty predictions, whoever wrote that column (Dave hisself?) stated that the onus of being chosen by Dave Campbell's Texas Football to win had been too much for those teams. Sure, Dave, you weren't wrong; they just couldn't take the pressure of your correctness. So it goes here. I think we win it all next year with Manning. Maybe by the end of this year, he'll be playing like a veteran and we will do well should we make the playoffs. Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Should be exciting no matter what.

Raiding a Hyundai plant and arresting 450 lawfully employed foreign engineers and specialists, simply because FOUR of their employees had "Hispanic sounding" last names. That's REALLY gonna help American manufacturing! What a fucking idiotic expression of fascistic power https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/south-korea-deal-workers-detained-hyundai-rcna229610 A sea of agents from HSI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other federal agencies showed up Thursday to the site in the town of Ellabell where Hyundai and LG Energy Solution, a battery company based in Seoul, are jointly building a plant next to the manufacturing facility for electric vehicles. LG Energy Solution said Saturday that 47 of its employees were detained, 46 of them Korean. Another 250 personnel from “equipment partner companies,” most of them Korean, were also being held, it added. The raid came just 11 days after a summit between Trump and Lee at the White House, where South Korean firms pledged $150 billion in U.S. investments. In July, Seoul pledged another $350 billion in U.S. projects in an effort to reduce Trump’s threatened tariffs, which he later set at 15%. -

As a blocker, he is a major liability. That’s not up for debate. If we are going to continue asking him to do that, we will continue to sputter

He’s had one of the strangest HC paths I’ve ever seen. UNM associate HFBC (HC in waiting under Rocky Long)—>BYU—>UVA—>commentator—>UNM—>Ut St. UVA must have been really toxic. And then a return to UNM was the best he could do? Then USU? Is that really a step up over UNM? There must have been some strange things going on in his personal life for that kind of journey.

Anyone Here A Trademark Attorney?

Ugh, there are very few legal problems I look at anymore and lose sleep over but this one, man it could be one. Regardless of the merits (there probably is a legal way out), the financial leverage mismatch is going to fucking suck. If it’s true you can’t capitulate, save your cash and make a change, then I’d go hard and fast at them with whatever you can and then look for the acceptable off ramp as soon as you can. Financial resolve is easily the biggest factor in cases like these. Sometimes though even the big dog doesn’t want to spend the money if you don’t immediately roll over. Ugh again, I do not envy you or the position you’re in. and while your situation isn’t exactly on point, having a federal registration is as much about avoiding this kind of crap as it is pushing others out. Every single business that relies on branding should make sure their brand is protected.
